Earthquake and Tsunamis and now Japan is dealing with one nuclear power plant affected by aftershocks.

This is definitely something beyond war .... this is mother nature yelling and screaming at us all ... her anger is beyond our control ... we are powerlessly at her mercy ... she rules supreme .....
First they wouldn't be checking for radiation sickness yet. It takes 2-3 days for radiation sickness to hit this is the news not knowing what they are talking about. The Japanese are being very upfront about this leak. First other then monitoring radioactive particles in the air it is impossible to know the extent of the damage. They do know when the power went out the water level dropped and the rods were exposed. Initial testing did not have radioactive iodine in the air. This says the rods got hot but hopefully didn't melt down. The gas release that was seen was when sea water and boron was flushed into the reactor chamber as an emergency coolant. This btw distroyed the reactor. Boron stops nuclear reactions but the heat of the rods reacted with the chemicals and released hydrogen.
I lived in the evac area for Three Mile Island and was in a wedding in Middletown, PA the Saturday after the meltdown. The Japanese were scanning people for radioactive particles on their clothing. Which is a lot more then we had with TMI. And for us it was a couple years before they told us that we had been exposed to radiation. Before they finally got in the core they did not think the metldown was as bad as it was. Because of TMI I am allergic to iodine. I had an over dose of radioactive iodine. The people in the affected area in Japan were scanned for radio active particulates and given iodine pills as a precaution. The Japanese are taking a hit from the western media but they are prepared and are reacting much better then the US did when we had a core melt down.
This btw is one of the reasons I am so against nuclear energy. It isn't safe. I know everyone says its safe and there is little chance of a melt down. True Middletown and Hershey PA are still populated. There are houses directly across the river from the power plant. Oh but the people who lived there have cancer or have died from it. My friend Connie who was married the day the all clear was given - that Saturday - her father died 3 years later from thyroid cancer. Her mom died 8 years after TMI from breast cancer. There is a cancer cluster around TMI. Also Middletown and Hershey Pennsylvania to this day has the highest ground level iodine in the entire country. This is from the nuclear fallout from the meltdown.
I went and got groceries and the talk amounts most it's not good - thanks for the information Sharon. Despite and debates on energy. This is rather tragic and lets hope we don't see another Chernobyl.
I was in the center of the earthquake in Kobe 16 years ago . The disaster will be bigger this time in Japan . The range of earthquakes of Japan ,China, New Zealand might be somewhat of warning on the inside or the circumstance of the earth .
In most of the japanese that I have know over the years - there is there own cultural code. It's a code that is sacred. It's one that carried them through. I don't know the term for it but within the culture of Japanese is about ----------- " Ki ". And that is obvious right now. Very obvious.
