The Rutles

Well I had to place off my last procedure with these last tooth and within the day I met with one a few people even within this weather. So things shall prevail for the rest of the week. So there is a tad of an ouch going on as I placed on this copy of "The Rutles". They were a satire of the Beatles. George Harrison actually financed most of what they did and they are a hoot.

I listen to all the things that are going on right now and not only are my teeth saying ouch. I now and then will tune into, "The Rutles" and where did these songs ever go?

Certainly, "The Beatles" were one of the greatest bands which we have ever had yet for the life of me I have never seen any anology or anything with regards to "The Rutles".

Take into consideration they were from Liverpool too. :)

I myself loved this one song called, "Number one".

  5. When I was just a kid in high school there was a gal by the name of Danette.
She sat in front of me and I would sing behind her this "Number One".
Well the way I changed the lyrics were not all that fun to her. As how I recall it
went was, "Your my number one, and Bo Derek is number 10". Yet that was
    yesterday :)

  9. I had tried to reply to this blog when i first caught sight of it last night..pressed send, and it disappearred off into the ether with a haughty laugh...'damn technology'...But the general gist of my reply had been that The Rutles are pretty much a 'must see' parody to musicians along the same lines as Spinal Tap is..'Cultlike'.
Neil Innes is a talented musician/songwriter who used to be in the Bonzo Dog Doodah band, of 'urban spaceman' fame...Look up 'How sweet to be an idiot' by Neil Innes on youtube and revel in his genius..Innes plays the Lennon character in 'The Rutles'..Eric Idle..is of course universally known for his Monty Python exploits among other things...Good post..! ;)

    Love the song.

but hey, am having a good laugh the way how the Queen reacted on the song, i wonder if she was enjoying it :) anyways that was taken from long time ago. Or it's the way the video caption was presented that made it looked like a funny thing.

  11. I have never seen this before Colin. Yet perhaps the idiot as this song says was one that had some smarts.

  12. I never consider the group of Monty Python to be anything but a fun parody of the Beatles.

  13. For sure....yet Innes and others did play it well. Colin I never thought I would get too deep within something which was for fun. Monty Python during there time.
Certainly with this one financed by George of the Beatles....well, he didn't buy luv. He rendered something that was fun and contagious.
Some no of the Rutles and if and when they ever come to this town. I would luv to see them :)

  17. They were a result of the python gang and George Harrison as when George saw one skit, well, thus back then
came The Rutles and may there legend live on. It's good to have some humor and I thought Cheryl.

  18. Well one things Susan is that one has to have a good sence of humor. Spidercol - which was from Colin. I will have to take a look at it again - the one that Colin had placed here.
