The Sturdy Stone Building

This is a building that was put up within the mid sixties. It's called the Sturdy Stone Building and holds primarily government offices. It's very different within the manner that is was built architecturally as well there were four artists that created plaques of art on five of nine floors. As I was there to do some things. In speaking with the security guard he gave me an entire history of the place.

I didn’t get the captures within this time of the year but the art is really something that is all too interesting. For some reason the building was built in the shape of an Octagon and I did not get all the pictures but the circle on the outside of this building and within it has some symbolism. I am not sure what it is as I will have to read the brochure that I was given. Neat build and shall get it from another vantage in the spring.

It looks like a building made within the 70's yet it's a historical building here. However I loved the artwork.

  2. There are so many of these on each floor there are one that is above each of three elevators. It really amazed me as I had been in there when I first arrived back here and I never knew these all were on these floors. There is a theme here yet I am not sure what it is as well as within the circle and the shape of the building.

  12. Beautiful! I have seen two rapaces on trees along the highway on my way to Magog Saturday. There was one that seemed to be an eagle and the other one was most probably une chouette with the yellowish feathers, pretty much like this one. Its feathers were all fluffy in the wind.

  15. I shall as there is a meaning to this building and it's there is some symbolic theme for some reason. It almost sounds like I am talking about the Da Vinci code :)

  16. This building looks to me like one of those that were built and decorated to celebrate the achievements of the working man and all the trades.
