Just in time for Halloween--we all need to see that glowing full moon that can only be enjoyed in the fall of the year. I remember the Indians had a name for each month for the full moon. September was called the Harvest Moon and October was called the Hunters moon. Some things have not changed that drastically. We still have the harvest every September and we know that October is the time for the deer hunters every where to be ready to go and find that treasured buck. Nice thought that occupants of planet earth get to share the pleasure of gazing on the beauty of the moon. Have a pleasant evening.
Nice shot! I attempted to get a picture of a full moon here a while back but it didn't take well. My camera just cannot handle night shots. My settings are too limited. It's a simple point and shoot Kodak.
Yeah I went on my back porch and it really is something as like the sun - the moon is something that we all share regardless of where we are. Some things have not changed all the much and when you look at it. It brings about a perspective of simplicity. In this day and age.
I can't believe your back online for how many months you have been gone and I had so many asking where you were. Glad to see you Norma. More than you know. :)
G'day Jack, The only things missing in that pic is a glass of mellow wine, a beach with rippling waters edge, and a hand to hold, but it is nice to know all can share without them
When I went for a walk with my dog on Tuesday night the moon was absolutely wonderful, nice and round and so bright. I was sorry I didn't have my camera with me. I see you were prepared.
Last night it was a bright moon here too, didn't get to see it coming up. Hopefully I will get to see it over the Pacific tomorrow nite. Have a good weekend.
I had been offline since early May. Not sure for how long I will be back this time. Thanks, I missed you and the whole gang so very much. It was such a bummer to not know how everyone was doing and what interesting things they'd been up to.
Well I have a pooch that is not too keen on going for a night walk so I should take him now. As he is a good one, and I don't want him peeing or taking a .....on the floor. Last night I just went out there and took a picture as I have new tripod that is much more flexible in the way you can move it around so I just took it out set it on landscape and got a decent zoom for one.
I know when you left and glad that your temporarily back Norma - hope things are going well in West Virginia and with all the rest. Hey but now it's like something new when you come back to it...
Oh mercy, Jack! Please don't relocate me to West Virginia.I only just now moved house and am not up to another move so soon! I am in Virginia, West Virginias near cousin. What breed is the new pooch? Gonna post pics of him soon?
It's a beautiful cool clear night here. The moon is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteHence, we share the same moon :)
