I am really tired of these debates now.
One say's one thing and another say another in a different manner. You could write about it and go on and on but there really is not anything new. And I think most of us are tired of it. But yet our societies are based on it.
Because more than probable is that Osama Bin Laden is not alive. I learned nothing more and all that I saw was the same old same old of "what I am going to do" but in a manner that the answers just have no real defined areas of what will be done.
I think we are really missing something within these debates. I think it's within our own "backyards". The one thought that comes to mind is what if. What if John F. Kennedy Jr. was still alive?
There are too many "what if's" and no "what will be". Yet again it's just my own point of view.
I do agree with you..
ReplyDeleteWhat if? What if JFK jr was still alive..
And all this race issues..would it be that bad if MLK JR was still alive and all other civil rights people that fought for equality!
I remember Bhutto saying on a BBC (I think) interview that he was dead and then they edited that part out of the video. I watched both videos just to be sure. *L* Did you watch the US debate tonight? I have to give it up watching them because they're making me nauseous. The same stuff over and over again, like a mantra. I am so happy our campaigns only last a month or so.
ReplyDeleteRead my mind!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a common knowledge at this point that Bin Laden has passed on in the miltary. I watched it, I was looking for something more and I really see it as nothing but the same old same old.
ReplyDeleteBush is trying to kill Bin Laden and he has been trying to for years and I dont see it happening before he gets out of office..
ReplyDeleteYes Jack I agree re the length of the USA campaigns, we all get so tired of the same old things being said repeatedly. Thank God our campaigns (as yours)are so much shorter.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is very tiresome. And rather insubstantial -- jus the way you describe it:
ReplyDelete"all that I saw was the same old same old of "what I am going to do" but in a manner that the answers just have no real defined areas of what will be done."
I have had it too with both the US and our campains. They keep repeating themselves "ad nauseam". Of course, I do appreciate that our campains are much shorter.
ReplyDeleteSame here I thought to myself after this I am going to just move away from politics. Lise we have really no great leader, since Trudeau we really have never had a man that is substantial and yet at the same time can do so much and will speak his mind. The one good thing I think in Canada is adopting the 4 year term like United States. But aside of that the government I see the same thing, and that is why I find America so different with the ideals. But yet for a nation as the US, it's really something that I don't think the average person realizes all that goes on. Regardless, these are the times of sensationalization I suppose, and as well times of change. I am not sure if we went ahead or if we are going backwards at times.
ReplyDeleteYes it's true. I watched it and usually I find it so interesting and I find that it's not worth it. And it's usually something I do really find of most interest. I am not sure if anyone has ever watched on the PBS - Charlie Rose - but there are some good areas to watch not just politics. But this is why I don't crave evening television.
ReplyDeleteI think it's three or six months, all I know is that here Bev, we vote within 6 days. And there is a person from Quebec that we probably will have the same Prime Minister - one by the name of Harper. He comes from Calgary, but there is one man from Quebec that is great - but they avoid some questions here and it's all done differently. But that is life. Within the USA with all do respect I think that this campaign became literally a boring mess. And the amount of money to run. Shorter may be better with less money utilized with a cap freeze - and the merits of substance.
ReplyDeleteEvery country has there own way of doing things since the inception of there land but in any country we can make amendments. In Australia, in United States, all over most countries but the one thing that we can know is that United States is a super power. And it really is of upmost importance on what takes place there.
Your joking right?
