Why November 11th Blooms

The moment of silence becomes two minutes. A commemorative day becomes a week. As more veterans die and more soldiers' bodies return, Canadians as other countries have a growing interest in Remembrance Day.

  4. Yeah we do....yet here I was amazed to find that within Canada this is the second highest attendance annually. Ottawa is the capital here as I am sure you know Frank and this was something very much of worth.

  6. I was hoping we would learn from our mistakes and stay away from violence for at least the 21st century. I am a dreamer, aren't I????

  7. Karyn I was just writing on that and we all have our ideals and well I don't wish to be down on all of this but last year the amount of people that I saw come back in caskets, coupled with how many do die each year by way of a form of society violence.

It's an ideal that there will ever be no violence. Meanwhile we are not run by dictators or a government that is like some of those that are our there that are still like so many of the barbaric dictators of the past.

I believe in peace, and maybe it's a mindset - not just a dreamer.

  10. I can't seem to get into your blog to make a comment but what you wrote was:

"As I sat and watched the going away tribute to the fallen soldiers at Ft.Knox today,I was deeply touched and shed tears, because I felt their loss.I cannot understand the madness of what happened on htat horrible day and when I think about it,trying to make sense of it,I shudder in disbelief.

The news said the suspect was on their radar screen, mainly because of some of his posts, sayings, behavior among other things. Now that this has happened, the FBI,CIA,and the Military wanna know what went wrong and how this person wasn't reported earlier. You would think that 911, would have been enough to open the eyes of the government, yet to avoild being accused of discrimination against other countries, thier eyes was closed.

I'm not oppsed to anyone's faith, beliefs, religion, to each his /her own beliefs.I do oppse those that will take the name of God,to do their dirty work, since from the beginning of time,God has never needed any help to do nothing.God can destroy mankind anytime He chooses, look at the floods, tornados, tunami, earthquakes, hurricanes, that man cannot control or do anything about, but to pray that each of these will pass.

I feel a loss, because there is no disconnection from what happened and we all should be affected in some way or the other. There is no glory, nor honor in hat happened at Ft.Knox, only sadness, pain, and rememberance of lives lost on our soil. The God I love, respect and admire,is merciful, kind, gentle and loving, no matter how wrong or right we may be and speaking from my heart,God can do whatever He chooses, when He want and for a known fact,He do not need man.

I once read somewhere>>>God knew what He was doing when He created everything and saved man for last. The reason given was>>>if He had created man first, man would take all the credit for His creation.I got a good laugh out of it but it was the truth.

For all the families of the past, the present, and the future to come,I salute your sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, that have served this country in the fight for freedom and justice for all mankind.

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY TO YOU, YOU, YOU,AND YOU.

    Big Hugs to all,

    Parrie"

It literally was a tremendous write....
