Symposium - Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

This morning I read this symposium that took place last Sunday entitled, “Faith and the Media”. That had taken place here.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community including representatives from the Christian, Jewish, hosted it, Muslim, and First Nations communities. Reading about how these educated and intelligent speakers talk from their particular point of view was quite educational because it reminded me that followers of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths aren’t so different.  Obviously there are radicals and extremists in every religion but most of us want the same things such as peace, love, friendship, tolerance and freedom.

The Ahmadiyya Muslims, who worldwide number in the tens of millions, are the leading Islamic organization that categorically rejects terrorism in any form. They advocate universal human rights, protection for religious and other minorities, and champion the education and empowerment of women.

While reading -  it was eloquently stated, every Muslim is not a terrorist.

We have to be careful to avoid stereotyping.

  1. I so agree with you. It's our job to love, not judge. I try my best to live this way.

  3. I do believe that every Muslim is not a terrorist, Jack. And majority of them wants peace, love, friendship, and, yes tolerance and freedom the way we long for it.

And try my very best not to condemn anyone ...
