Today after I heading to get some medical matters taken care of I headed out to the arena here - as I forgot about this completely. I love music and I really did enjoy a band which everyone I am sure knows from the past. This friend of mine Rudy before I had this accident was going to get me into the backstage but it didnt pan out today.
KISS is playing here tonight and I talked with a few of the stage managers and I really think the planners of the city made a big mistake as Gene Simmons will be speaking to vets here tomorrow as well as doing a business meeting after tonight's concert. Now don't get me wrong I don't get me wrong but I used to really love this band especially for there lyrics and they were the first band that I saw. I loved it when they took off there makeup and actually were musicians but what a fabrication machine.
It literally is all about money. And they literally fly in by way of there own seperate jets after all is done. Certainly I love some of there old songs as most would but it amazed me how it was all just money coupled with very bad timing here on behalf of the city planners.
I was interested to get some pictures but I really found that I was not into it, if you know what I mean. I have met with a few bands in the past, but this was a very rude bunch of people. And I have a friend that I spoke with this morning while heading to the hospital and he was taking his son and is going to email me some pictures but I really felt that this was very poor timing. Just imagine Gene Simmons speaking to Vets. I can't believe it to be honest.
When I was leaving I had the chance to talk to one of the stage planners and he was from Idaho and ironically he felt the same way - as far as that the band is a sell out but at the same time it's not about the music it's more of a money making machine.
They were a great band, and they were a large influence on me but I would never pay any money to see them again. From all that I saw I guess it was uncovering the reality of some of these entertainers - that don't know when to hang up the instruments.
Rememberance Day and KISS is not a good mix if you ask me.
when we had tv at my house (once upon a time) we used to watch gene and his family in that reality show and yep, he's admittedly so, all about the money! great pics!
ReplyDeleteOh Arielle there is more to this story but all I can say is that I used to be a big fan as a kid but I was really taken back and surprised with what all I saw and the timing of it all.
ReplyDeleteoh i'm sure, LOL!
ReplyDeleteQuite a contrast isn't it compared to those who served (Veterans)
ReplyDeleteA very big one and it really for me was an eye opener...they are not how they portray themselves to be on this reality show.
ReplyDeleteIn addition I can't get out right now to see them nor would I as I really am not into them any longer...
ReplyDeleteThey recieved generous amounts as per contract, i believe. Yes, i agree they came very strong with those kinds of vehicle ... but wait Jack, they're working hard to earn it. They aren't robbing banks, and for me, if you're sweating it out to have some good things in life that's fine. What i can't accept is ~ when they're maligning or attacking individuals with guns in their hands ... well, this is me ... am sorry :)))
ReplyDeleteI just got back here and yeah I found that is really a contrive thing not music in a sincere manner - they were good at one time but I will write more on this after tomorrow....
ReplyDeleteIf only you provide any of their songs here so that I can enjoy it too :-(
ReplyDeleteOh there are some of them within my blog Life....
ReplyDeleteReally? I will wander there then :-)
ReplyDeleteLife I shall find them and post them in here for you ok....just not right now...
ReplyDeleteis this your friend Jack?
ReplyDeleteBack then I met him as he was part of this a rock bands tour, he is not a good friend no, he was one that we had a
ReplyDeletegood talk about things back then with respect to that band and the tour.
