Medical Matters

I am used to this now...
One does do things for those that have provided for them. My father has been able to stay alive for the last ten years. This was the first time that I had taken him into the chemo area. But he can't take chemo any longer as his immune system has went through too much over the last 9 years.

Yet with only one working eye. One working Kidney, and one a cancer that sits dormant he still carries on.

I think that says something about charater as well as those that understand what it has been to be caring for others. I have not done this in some three years. I as he requested just dropped him off and then picked him up.

When I picked him up and we both left - he gave one of his books that he took to read to another person... Only within the oncology to they know us.
As well ironically some within the Mayo Clinic as well as other areas.

When I first came up with my nick....it was as an advocate for elder people to
obtain the right care I kid you not - that is the meaning of Initiative Stain...

So I just kept with the Nickname...

  10. Sick people need advocates and supporters. Medical jargon can become totally confusing. Then we have to help them stick up for their rights. Good on ya, Jack.

  11. Karyn yeah it truly seems that way and I am doing well - he has the best of treatment since the initial time that he went in and thereafter there have been many times that he has had so many problems that I did attend to before I left here and went to Edmonton - and then now he is doing as well as he can. So he will have a few days of recovery now as he has that 20 day cycle but seemingly it never stops him.
I think it's his background coupled with many that are supporters of him. So he is going to do fine...

Three years ago, I had called all the family as he nearly died while in the hospital - but he will be back out at what they call "Heaven Gate" - it's a place where they (my father and mother) go - and it's a Food Court in a place called Market Mall ....

    But they do...
