But a great one with a song that resonates in more than one land.
Imagine was probably one of the best songs that John had ever wrote. To this very day all over the world is seems that it translates into a meaning of freedom, and then some.
I Love Imagine for so many reasons and I loved JL too for even more reasons..You may say he was a dreamer..but he is not the only one!!!!!!! Good night Jack.
ps-- I visited the sidewalk in front of his apartment in NYC this summer, Jack. All these years, and there are still fresh flowers laid there and I was not the only person visiting on a wet July afternoon. Quite a legacy---if you can 'imagine.'
Been there as well while living there many times. It is a legacy of on many that Nixon wanted to get sent back to the UK, but needless to say he was able to stay where he wished.
I literally was not a big Lennon fan till later on in my life. My older brother was and as time went on I came to love all that he wrote. I think second to George he really wrote from what he thought unlike Paul that after the split was looking to go towards pop music... I remember reading a book by John and how he was so tired of how McCartney was going at that time - as I recall he had this song called "Coming Up".
Meanwhile Lennon stayed true to what he was writing about if the sale happened - they did he was not looking for more money. Unfortunately a very short life, and then the rest of the Beatles did notice and so many others did as well...
Rosie he was one that we really don't know all that much about but he never conjured up words....He took time off literally and then on his come back he unfortunately had no security. How George Harrison thereafter went into seclusion for nearly the rest of his life.
He was and there have been ones Terri that have tried to copy him Oasis is one. But I don't think that even Paul or anyone can replace what this man was. He had a few really tremendous songs but they never made the air waves after the break up of the Beatles.
As is George Harrison's song, "Something in the Way". Frank Sinatra was in a crowd singing it and said it was his favorite song wrote by Paul McCartney.
Little did he know and after received a telegram from George Harrison indicating that it was his own song that he wrote sole.
Hey Leticia yes it was cool last Saturday when this was taken. It's actually very nice to be honest and thanks wishing you well Lettie and hope your enjoying NY.
