What Direction is Multiply Going ?

There are many directions that anything can go. What direction do you think that multiply is going as I have read some writes and there seems to be some that come right out and write it with regards to a petition against hate or a write with regards to having problems with how things are going on there blog. I had a few friends completely leave that I literally have spoke to and this may not come out right but I always enjoyed how everyone in there own independant manner could write it was something that was great rather that something where people look to do those underminded things. I don't get on here till later. And there could be a variety of reason why some have completely left. But there are a few that I literally have know that left and I ponder why that is taking place.

For myself I found the most exciting time on this was within a few stages and then with all this.  My basic question is what is YOUR intentions. For those that have ever talked to me as some have but some have left multiply for reasons that seem to be due to the case above. Is this not something in which we all enjoy independently - yet within a share if you know what I mean.

I always found this to be something of a gain rather than something otherwise. I have always seen this as a collaborative blogging where there can be a variety of things in which one does.

What is your take on it if I may ask?

  1. I enjoy miltiply as i do some of my other sites.Changes will always take place, some that meet approval, some that dont, but as with all things, things do change.Pleple come and people go,that too is a way of life.:))

  2. I understand change all to well, but this is a means of expression and Parrie I really have seen some people literally vanish. And they did enjoy this much.

  3. I don't quite understand your question Jack. Why those people have left that you know I don't know. Are you saying that Multiply has deleted them? If not, I guess they have their own reasons....

I'm on here because I enjoy the interaction with likeminded people and also it's a venue to share your ideas and creativity, make friends and have interesting discussions.

  4. One good friend just left and in the last hour I have been reading some blogs and there seemed to be a few that were talking about how they are treated one in particular was with regards to prejudice and then there was one with regards to the passive aggressiveness that takes place.

I enjoy this as well, but I thought I would place it out there. I am not doing this to get any gain from my blog, I am truly pondering if Multiply is taking on a new way. In some fashion...

  5. I haven't encountered any of that Jack, I guess it depends who you have on your friends list don't you think? We all have the power to delete and block those we don't want to interact with and we can also set our Blogs selectively to whom we want them published for...
Mutliply has many millions of users, I can't see that all of those would change all of a sudden to some common negative interest??

  8. I think you have to be careful who you allow as your contacts. I usually see if the person is connected to someone I know and watch their comments on that person's page. I have been blessed with good friends here...people I'd invite to stay in my home and have dinner.
With that being said, I pretty much accept people for who they are and don't get into the 'drama' that can go on and when it became 'drama' I deleted that person from my contacts.
Some blogs are very personal and only my contacts can see it. Other blogs the whole system can see....I've been blessed with good friends here.
I also avoid the crazies like the plague. People can make all the comments on my page that they want...I usually don't block them but when they get too out of hand I will. There's one in particular, Black Catz, that I just don't allow his negativity on my page. I still see him lurking on others' pages but I don't engage with him. That's my advice: Don't engage with offensive people.

  9. Fran your much like myself, I love to write and I will write much in the same manner as you. I literally give the best of the doubt with whom is on my blog and what you have wrote here is much to the same fashion as myself.
Good advice there Fran and well taken.

  10. There are so many blogs out there and aside of mutiply, I am not sure where there is one that is comparable as I think that most started of with y360. I could be wrong.

  11. Heh Jack,
No problems here with Multiply. I started with Yahoo 360 and found it had a few problems, which I haven't encountered with Multiply.

    So far, so good.

  12. You're welcome...I just find not engaging with folks who bring drama and negativity to play is the best thing.

You have such a postive out look on things. And without a doubt you really would not as you write in a manner that is about things that are very interesting I remember reading several of yours and they are are really very cool in lack of better words.

  25. Maybe they haven't left Multiply. Mayber they're just too busy to find time to go Mulitply-ing as often as we do.

  26. I have enjoyed Multiply very much and have had no problems.
If someone is having a problem with a person on Multiply, the solution is as close as your mouse, you block the person from coming to your site. Who you have contact with is up to you not Multiply.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I enjoy the people I am in contact with here and am selective about who I interact with.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I, personally, haven't had too many problems here at mult other than when functions are acting up. (not uploading, vanishing posts, that sort of thing.) I haven't deleted anyone though a few have deleted me. I do have one person blocked as it was pure sexual harrassment. I don't have a big contact list; I can only handle staying up to date with so many people, you know?

Plus it isn't like I write deep things here. It's social networking after all so I share things from my life and what's going on at work or here on mult. Mostly I joke around since I love making people laugh at whatever crap they might be facing at the moment and often use my own 'crap' as an example.

Every once in a while I get a little too serious about the comment section but that's 'my' problem not anyone else's. For example, when I've asked for input and don't get it. Or when I answer a comment and then don't hear back. I look at the comment section as being where the real action is, since that's where the discussions take place. Again, that's my ego looking for feed back or input, as a friend pointed out. So I just have to get over myself there. hahaha

I go where I want, read what I want and skip the rest. What's so hard about that? lol

  29. Heh Jack and everybody else reading this thread...

I find other views very meaningful, even though I often disagree with them...but What the bleep do I know? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi_UFSShQHU

    Life is truly a mystery...

    "We are what we think,
All that we are arises with our thoughts,
    With our thoughts,
    we make the world."

    Buddha...

This person thinks he is taking actions to make the world a great place for my grandkids to grow up in. I suppose that's why I plant trees and ride an electric bike. Perhaps I plan on bicycling with the kids in the wonderful world I envision for them. Reducing CO2's, seems like a must.

I have taken 350 as bearing for my personal activities related to the well being of the planet we all share: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5kg1oOq9tY

Anybody want to race this 58 year old on his new electric bike? I'm very competive...but I cheat...hee,hee,hee.

    My two cents worth...anyway.

  31. Lotus wow:

I read and saw the petition. Amazing writing Lotus, I have to re read this again. I need to find my glasses but I believe that the writes within here are ones that one can write in a manner that is collaborative and without the labelling and things in which you have just mentioned.

I am going to return and read this as there is much here and I have to grab a coffee. Interesting, interesting.

  32. Sounds like Kahil has a few wise words to share...thanks for the quote, sandy.

I was part of a poetry group in Big Sur...wonderful group of people to be with. The poets seem to fill the void between music and words...

  35. I like to be able to come on and write what ever I wish. I am not usually on during this time but there too - it's my own option. But what I was getting at is something that came from reading some blogs as well as then as you can see there are several replys indicating several things I like that. I do.

Even when it's a day with snow that one would never believe is happening Wulfie...
Contact lists: I send out by way of networks, so no one outside of the network ever does see what I write. I do want to know whom I am writing too - I think that everyone would in a sense.

Well said Wulfie. I do have a large contact list but the reason due to the above mentioned....Good morning from a winter day in May....:)

    Thanks much ....

  36. I like the utube Steve. And I like the your way as it's always interesting something tells me that today is going to be and go get the groceries and then do some other work before a meeting tomorrow.

I would never have know you were a retired geologist literally....

  39. Yep...a retired Geologist. I hiked and camped a lot as kid, so I became interested in earth and it's resources at an early age. I was a Geologist with major oil companies at first, then ended up teaching kids Geology in Big Sur, where we discussed alternate energy sources in relation to the environment.

Now I'm interested into plug-in hybrids and electric bikes.

Concerning writing, I found this tid bit reflective.

  42. As it states on my page---
Nothing to boast about, nothing to prove, just along for the ride.
Multiply has no direction other that the interests of its members.
It is malleable and without form until a majority changes it.
    It won't happen.

  47. I found that on y360 there was so many people from a variety of countries and most of them stayed there for some reason. Ironically for some it still works but with my server for some reason I can't get into it but the variety of people from so many places and countries was something that I always found enjoyment with.
