As a society globally are we prepared for the changes and adaptations that we may have to make for a period of time? As well, do you feel that the main banks of the world should or shouldn’t be regulated?
This really does apply to nearly every country right now.
I dont think we are ready at this point of time. a man like Obama has the courage to try to change but we need many more people like Obama to change what has to be changed. By hte way i think this is how market works, even if we try to change it its like a cycle, hte only difference is after 20 or 30 years a group of new corporations will be taking over!!!
ReplyDeleteMost interesting thoughts as the markets are cycling rapidly right now. That would lend the idea that we may have to learn to understand that we are doing something for the near future in a temporary manner while things work themselves out in a micro and macro economic manner...
ReplyDeleteI dont agree with the phrase "things work themselves out". I think we should work things out at this critical point or near future wont be really nice!!!!! It is all messed up the way it is!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, and I think that everyone has to take some measures in each and every country to bring about a harmony within each country so that we can have the things that we desire. So I think the message is in doing those things and not just being reliant on just the government to fix everything.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your last comment initiative. Very good point. In many ways. It's funny kinda. Obama has raised the recognition of the change needed, but again he is only one man. Is the world and those in it ready to take action to MAKE the change happen? Are all ready for the effort that is needed of putting their thoughts, opinions, voices and ACTION out there? I myself can talk all day long. I guess I can only ask myself if I am ready to accept the burden and resposnsibility of "Change". Interesting and provocative thought!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lad that is goes to university that I know here and I think he brought it up well. As I find that the young generation are really the ones that this will impact and I see that many do think in terms that we are not as readily used too. They are more inclined with the reality of some matters I find. So don't thank me there is a really good person that is anonymous in reality he is going to university right now. I met him while I was going for a meeting and I gave him a ride to university and then wrote down the address to this blog. He is a very sensible person. But I promised I would retain his privacy.
ReplyDeleteSo it's his choice as to how he wishes to blog on multiply. But he really has some good thoughts from our conversation while merely meeting on morning.
If you want to know the truth, I feel the banks should go under completely and have to release all claims to their holdings.
ReplyDeleteI think all banks should be regulated and within a regulatory system and within that Cal they do release there actions each and every year to the government, some do it every quarter.
ReplyDeleteWow what a question! I think some individuals are probably more prepared and willing to change than others. Same I believe is true with countries. Some probably are but most probably not there yet.
ReplyDeleteI think at some point there will have to be some form of bank regulation. Had there been earlier, we might not be in such a financial mess now.
Not sure how the regulation should work and whom should be put into charge though. I think whatever group might be put into charge of regulation shouldn't be allowed to have any stake in the game and nothing personal to gain, or lose, from the decisions they'd be expected to make.
Norma, United States did have a regulatory system...one one level it was amended after the first depression of the dirty 30's and then there was another amendent that followed that. I believe truly believe that President Obama is going to regulate but it may be called something different. As 700 Billion now might be the time to have the government over watch where they place citizen's taxes. I think we are saying the same thing in different words but right now in Quebec we have had a mess happen with accountability with a large investment firm. So we all are in this together.
ReplyDeleteTime for bed..good night all and there I believe in so much of what I have read and well as it's been exciting going to other's blogs. We are living while things are in change. So each day, something spontaneous comes about. And I have literally enjoyed this experience so much I cant tell you but it's all in balance. And with that all said good night all.
ReplyDeleteMost of them are pretty good at cooking the books, though.
ReplyDeleteI guess we are ready in a way - all of us - and we know this isnt something that wil be OK in a short period of time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I feel I shouldnt say so much, cause Im feeling that we here in my country has made it quite well, BUT there are big changes to come, even for us, and many (hopefully wise) decissions to be made in the months and years to come. I feel for the task Obama has to deal with - what a situation hes got to handle ! So help him, dont try to find mistakes - I bet hes doing the best he knows how. And like I said - These things really take time.
Thanks.
That is why they are audited by a company that has to take a legal submission to review ledgers and then report any errors or anything that they see. It's a system that works. I have worked with them for years while overseeing shopping centers in nearly all every city in Canada and then working out of New York.
ReplyDeleteVery true and it was enjoyable. As well a happy Saturday to you there in Norway, Anne. Perhaps we should move on with things. Canada right now fairs out the best in the world economic review. But when you take into consideration the size of canada by population in comparison to United States, Australia, and other countries - we literally are a huge land mass, but we are only as large in population as New York State. Time tells all and I have a friend that I wish to pass on an enjoyable challenge if I may.
ReplyDeletehttp://justjenna.multiply.com/journal/item/156/156?replies_read=3 < that is something that looks like fun.
All Banks are Regulated
ReplyDeleteThis is the cloak under which they cheat and rob since regulators have no power to fire or sue their political appointees.
Watchdogs included here as are Quangos.
Really most Authorities anywhere.
Good morning to you too Jack, I hope you get a wonderful day. Its been pretty good here.
ReplyDeleteWish you a great weekend too !
Yes most banks are regulated not all in every country but they ensure the validity of what takes place within our government. It's true with some politicians but when it's outsourced to a conservative accountable firm coupled with the government it's not a perfect situation but it's at least one of the best accountability systems we have.
ReplyDeleteI just arrived home and am shortly on my way back out and I wish you the same Anne.
ReplyDeleteAre we ready?
ReplyDeleteGiven we are so quickly coming to believe we have no choice, undoubtedly we are ready to permit these adaptations. Will we like them?
I won't. I am fiercely nationalistic, a viewpoint (feeling?) I regard as a virtue, but vilified in many quarters. I mourn the loss of any measure of autonomy for my country, yet I am aware of the smallness of the globe economically.
We will follow the pied pipers of our times....
"Nothing is forever, not even the mountains."
ReplyDeleteNo really don't really have much choice in this one but as you mention by way of virtue we will adapt and do what is necessary. The autonomy will come back even better Charles - I feel so...
ReplyDeleteExactly...
ReplyDeleteWe will hope, and trust in our posterity to fashion the best world they can...
ReplyDeleteSo many memories, however...
Adaption is the key.
ReplyDeleteYeah it is...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! :)
