Dear Mr. President

Dear Mr. President,

It’s obvious to see that now many realize the vast amount of oil that resides right next door. Although here in Canada it’s being called “Dirty Oil”, isnt it much more economically feasible especially during this time to obtain oil within the interior, or is it better to spend billions in and send ships to Saudi Arabia?

Could we not work in cleaning up what we deem as dirty while saving billions of dollars in shipping costs alone? We can do this, but if you were president what would your response be?

Sincerely,

***What are your thoughts if I may kindly request and see how many do think outside of the box. Note right now every minute there is dirty coal and several dirty things that are taking place within the United States as well as Canada - let alone other nations. But in the effort of two countries that are only seperated by the 49th parallel and have traded and gained economically for years in doing so what are your thoughts? I do appreciate your remarks on this and I know what mine are while I would be residing in the United States or as I am right now residing in Canada (right next door)....

  1. Hmmm, I dunno much about "dirty oil." But looks like most anything'd be better than being so dependent on foreign oil.

  6. Surely Canada's oil belongs to Canada and not the US.

  7. The Oil within Canada does belong to Canada but we wish to trade with it to United States - the largest trading partner of the world. Canada does and never has wanted to retain all of it's natural resources for just itself. Most have never realized what the land of Canada has underneath it's soil. Oil is one of several commodities but the most necessary at this point in time. Another example is that the electricity/hydro that is supplied to parts of the United States. As well as several other things. But the bottom line is that it seems that there will be a continuation of exporting of buying oil as well as other things which are far cheaper and good for both economies of two very good countries.

  9. We need to get rid of our dependence on oil and switch to greener sources of energy. I like the idea of harnessing the ocean tides.

  10. Karyn, I believe in time but not right now....say in a few years and meanwhile we progressively work at it. Green is and expensive transition to do all at once, but it's worth it. I feel right now with the economy that we can evolve with what we have at hand progressively.
I like solar panels and wind power...
