It was a great visit that the President made to Canada and I thought I would see if I could find the link as I did to exemplify how Canadians feel with regards to this very special day. Within Canada it’s something that was history. 88 percent of Canadians approve now of Obama and I am not pushing my ideals – well yes I am. But this is a time that there is a return of a friendship and dialogue between governments. I could not believe it that even CNN cover this.
Meanwhile the stimulus package brings about scandal on CNN and Fox, and some thrive on that I would rather leave that sensationalism out of it and just enjoy it for what it is.
I read and watched the news today and it was something that was good for a change.
You know, the thing I really like about President Obama is that he is first of all a human being! People respond to people. This was a lovely reminder of that fact! Thanks, Jack!
ReplyDeleteVery much so, I feel the same and I really do believe that this is history in the making. Obama is someone that is onto himself but the relationship of two countries makes me feel very proud on this day.
ReplyDeleteHe is a human being first and foremost and not a facade. It's so great to have a President who "travels well" in the friendlier regions of the globe. I here there is a lot of enthusiasm for him to have a state visit to Indonesia, where he lived for a time as a kid.
ReplyDeleteI think the news stations down here are going through the usual gloomy scenarios. Nobody knows anything yet about the effects of the stimulus package. I'm glad to see Canadians are so happy about him.
Doug it's a return of something that has been in place for a long time. The one thing I find is how much security he needs, that too me is something that is so different but it's life. Canada was just like .......I can't describe how many Canadians and how they feel on this day. Setting all the politics aside this is significant.
ReplyDeleteOn a scale of 1 to 10, I think within Canada this surpassed 9. Mind you there was allot of security, but there is something good that is taking place here it's very inspirational. United States certainly can stand proud as this is the beginning of a relationship that has and was so desired for some time now. Indonesia is not Canada as you know, and I think that two countries really in many ways have come to understand once again that we are not all that different we all originally came from the Britain. Canada evolved and United States revolted in our history. Within this day and age - I think for the most part that is within the past. The divide and discourse that is.
Very much so, I feel the same and I really do believe that this is history in the making. Obama is someone that is onto himself but the relationship of two countries makes me feel very proud on this day.

ReplyDeleteThank God for small miracles.
People just like him....and that is good. He seems sincere and that is refreshing.
ReplyDeletei agree about Fox and CNN... thank you for posting this Jack... it is truly an exciting time in our history, in spite of the horrible circumstances we are in...
ReplyDeleteCal, I could not agree with you more!
ReplyDeleteAs well, you and I are not that much different, nor is any human being we have our uniqueness. Karyn literally we could take two people and one is from lets say Oregon and farms. And then we could place him/her with another person from British Columbia that works within the same area. After an hour of talking over a coffee they would see more of the commonalities than the differences we all have. And the coffee would be refreshing as well :).
ReplyDeleteJen yes but we will get out of it....together not internalized...it will get worse before better but at least it's started. I don't hate CNN, I think Anderson Cooper and John Roberts are great along, but I was placing on the Canadian Media just to exemplify the difference in how America is seen by Canada.
ReplyDeleteWe can do it...together.
Glad to hear the visit went well. I believe Obama will make a favorable impression in most countries. He tends to speak to, not at, people and he expresses himself well. These are terrific attributes for a President, Or any leader, to have.
ReplyDeleteHe is still like a rock star I wonder what goes through his mind Norma...
ReplyDeleteA man by the name of Senator Dashill, I think was the man that really brought about his fast speedy placement to the Oval Office. Meanwhile Hillary is and has been working things out abroad.
The key to Obama is from my point of view his wife - she is tremendously smart and his inspirations and the manner that he does speak. I used to know a man much like this. But some time has passed. But think of getting off Air Force One and knowing - just knowing that your not just doing business but you have a fan base behind you.
Haha, Jack, I couldn't even begin to imagine what goes through his mind. Talk about a lot to have on him!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think his wife, Michelle makes a good impression with her brains and class.
Yep, Norma I believe so...I think I made someone smile or laugh a tad! :)
