To the Right and to the Left – Labels Don’t Work Any Longer

At the end of the Cold War in 1992, American political economists Francis Fukuyama famously declared that it’s the end of history.  His belief was that the world had come to an end and that the universalization of the Western Liberal Democracy had arrived. The end point of mankind’s evolutionary ideology had come to an end.

Boy or boy wasn’t he wrong.

Here we are some 20 years later in the midst of three wars in various stages of progression and regression. The outcome of the Arab Spring is still unknown. New, potential dangerous alliances are being formed.  And even the repercussions of the 2008 financial meltdown are still unresolved. In other words we have plenty of history to go.

Nevertheless I’ll take one further step and put to an end Fukuyama’s ideology presciption box, as from either the Right or Left labels nor Fukuyam's theories or of the likes are not ample nor of what he forecasted with one more step. One from the Left and as well from the Right.

Case in point: How do we deal with debt and inflation crises currently besetting so many countries and still maintain our current standards of living? The right wing solution is to cut entitlements further. The left wing solution is to make the rich pay.

Here is my little story:

Greece is a tremendous country and the people are tremendous as well. Yet it’s the last country in Europe that you would ever think is the neediest of all countries within Europe. Germany has always been approached by the EU for money and so often Germany does finance many entitlements which keep the European markets where they are. Greece came to be used to entitlements, these generous monies given with the intention that a country in distress would leverage up by way of the monies recieved.

So where were all the forensic accountants sounding the alarms regarding Greece's situation? For that matter where there were even rumors about the EU's worthiness. The answer that is within here comes down to one country really and the name is Germany. Yet under the guise, the EU was set up so that Eurpean participating countries could bring about a feesable economic climate as well to ensure feesability with all and with the merit that many countries would work witin unision.

The accounting hocus pocus which kept Greece afloat was hid under the economic covers. As Germany came to be prominently the means and ways in giving out monies with the intention to stabalize countries such as Greece. Yet more often than not Germany had an entourage which would really con Germany into being the sole loaner. More than often the government of Germany would be reminded of it's past by the leaders of the EU. Germany was a fast and monetarily strong country yet with a past history which haunted the society for years. Yet those are years gone by. As a society now Germany has arrived to where they are due to one basic thing. German people at large are very intellegent people. As well, Germany has always been seen as the most economically sound country and all so often they are looked towards by the EU for what can partly bring about stablization. All part and parcel of how the EU most often relied on Germany to handle Crises that were of the onus of the EU.

The elitists have always benefitted from entitlements which for the most of which came from predominantly from one country and that of Germany.

The way I see the European crisis is with none of the above. Even within countries such as Greece would indicate that entitlements were merely fiscal band aides. In fact Greece felt that the fiscal entitlements were something which had carried on a economic crisis if not even leading to one. Yet the EU felt differently.

"It’s merely a band aid." Greek citizens will be the first to point out that it wasn’t just the entitlement spending that brought the country into an economic mess. Meanwhile the EU, continued to be an entity which was with the thought to bring several European nations together. Yet several time, the leaders of the EU would "cook the books" on the backbone of Germany as Germany was this primary lender which for several years followed all directions. Yet many monies had been left unknown as to where they had went. Yet it's was rather obvious that the heads of the EU were pocketing monies.

The EU elites were far too generous in “cooking the books” while taking ample amounts of monies for themselves.

To be continued…

  1. My country admittedly is also trying to coped up. And i hope our leaders will capitulates us to a new promised tomorrow. I don't belong to the so called 'cream of the crop' but in our own little ways we tried not to be included or added up to the problems besettings our government.
And for those officials pocketing the monies they don't own ... well, they can't bring that with them. And am amazed how they were able to accept those moneys and pocketed it.

... i guess clear consience isn't for all. I better have my simple fish and rice and veggies than having my steak in a luxury resto while my constituents is fighting to have a decent meals so to speak.

Anyways, am not a politician and don't dream nor aspire to be :)

  2. For a gentlemen who posts that he's not 'political', you certainly have a well documented, well defined and well written historical perspective. I'm looking forward to reading Part 2!!

  3. I never wished to enter this but for years I was raised with to know is the best of information. I have never wrote on my own on economics nor the perspectives of which I know as it's always been seen that I am a Canadian. I do believe that the benefit from which I have wrote on my own is not
with a negative as there has been a third but Grammy I think I shall leave it be as the average person within America does not want to hear what's happening from one whom is a dual citizen which has taken the option to be Canadian. Yet without being arrogant, on a blog I might not be
included. But I certainly do know America as I am and last night I wrote part one and part two with no render of what was on a blog, the internet.
I wrote from my own vantage within a nature of what I call Americanadian.

  4. Your country is that of you love. Yet your govenment was never that of a true democracy which is no shame on you nor the people. I can stand to be corrected but within the Philapeans the mandate of your government as of the last two years was in exporting many people as the education system is tremendous. I never have had the intention to negate other countries. Last night I just wrote about things from a vantage of where I reside. Most all within these time either go to New Zealand, Australia or Canada. Yet even Americans since 9/11 have immigrated to Canada. I don't believe there is any cream of the crop, nor do I believe that there is one country that is above another. I just write my views with some factual merit. I am not into politics but have always enjoyed history. In a short while I shall make a switch, but I do wish to write history as I know it.

The one thing that is hitting one of the largest countries and most recognized is one of which I have lived. Here the history is young but within this term of which over here we call America. The Americas as a term contained three areas of land - Latin America, United States of America, and North America.
I don't wish nor have been a politician.

  6. Yes and I have tomorrow as a free day and as well I had a fine long distance talk with my cousin whom just sent me picture of his horses and he is leaving for Wisconsin next week. So I just arrived on here and even he and I had a conversation on all this. As it's not stopping our lives but it's a concern of what will be the outcome economically within the world.

  7. I have been most interested with what is going on Grammy with the economy, more so than the politics. It's late but I am going to read a little. Ironically I ended up heading out and then when I arrived back I called my cousin. And even he and I discussed this as there is a true concern. He shall be leaving shortly for Wisconsin.
But I shall write on other things yet I have to admit that I do have a concern in a manner that some may feel it's politics. But I do believe that it's not just America as this write was on the EU and ironically as of today it's happening again. I believe that it's within the manner that you place it.
