I thought I would take the time to mention that of recent I know that I have been writing on areas which are less personal aside of the pictures I had sent to me from my cousin. I have never opted to lecture nor teach from a blog. Most all of us have followed a certain pathway within what we write. Within the past days I thought that I would take the time to change the manner of how I blogged and write in what is more of a means and ways.
Yet at the same time I have been most interested or more appropriately said – concerned with how things are going. I don’t think that is drama I think it’s more of a concern. It’s truly hard to write without knowing full well that you may not be of concern due to were you reside. As mentioned last night my cousin and I were talking on the phone and as ironic as that may be – he now has been back and forth with his wife Louise where before, I was the one that was thought of as being that Canadian Yankee.
During my adult life and living within America - there were not the so very prevalent concerns that we have had over the last ten years but I truly believe that within the last five years there has been a mind shift for the average person within America. The very fiber of America was within a thematic ingrained thought of being proud within a country where you can do nearly anything if you set your mind to it. America was always seen as the land of dreams. Perhaps the space program which is well embedded and remembered by most symbolizes what the past America was. Is it the average American which is too blame – I don’t think so. Is it a time where many are very let down as to how things are going and quite possibly there is a concern which comes along with that. I sort of think so. But with all do respect, I love America the landscape has changed it's a no brainer to anyone whom resides in America and to those that know America. Yet the average America would rather not have another outside of America write about their country - as it's like allowing someone into your home and then they are indicating what parts of the house are good and which are bad. The natural reflex question would be where you get off in speaking about my house when I allowed you to enter it. I guess that is the closest I can get with trying to relate my own writings with respect to a place I have lived in and had great opportunities in my childhood as well as my adulthood. The meaning of what America right now might be different which for the average American it’s very difficult to come to terms with that. But it’s very obvious that there is a transition which is taking place. Perhaps it’s one of the largest adaptations which the average American never thought would come to be.
As well, I do love to write about other things which include my other country if you will. I was born in America but when my father retired he never considered that our entire family could become residents of United States. His feeling was that he wished to bring the family upon his retirement back to the town and province of where he and my mother were born. I don’t have many complaints in saying that I am very passionate when it comes to certain areas. As well, I know full well that one would assume that I am inclusively Canadian by way of my blog. I value it as a fortunate situation. That is where trust comes in as I am that half and half and so often here within my part of Canada, I have always been asked if I would return to New York. To be entirely honest – New York City is not the same city as it was just before 9/11. If there was a time I was prepared to return to United States it would have been five years ago. But right now with the situations which are going on I am pleased to be living as a Canadian here in Western Canada.
So I have written many things pertaining to that of what I have been educated in a more so from where I reside and whom I have worked for. Yet the fabric of what we are is not of where we come from but more so in whom we are. As mentioned before we are human beings not human doings. But when you look closer within the writings we are human’s which are embarking at that is what renders the value of the templates of words that we place down within space.
I have been writing in a manner which is that of which is from my own experiences and things which are of interest to me from both sides of the 49th. I love Canada and still keep learning more about it as time goes on while I understand what its’ in being American. Regardless of either country, we don’t live in the past and what is paramount is in rendering the best things within the given day regardless of where you are and where you reside. As when it really comes down to it – it much more about the person and people than it is about where they come from. As I have wrote some writes on Canada but as ironic as it may seem I know learned more about America thank I know of Canada. Yet what I find is most interesting is what makes this world tick. And history has always more than often that it does not repeat itself. Yet we may see ways of which it seems to be. But one would hope that we don’t shed a blind eye on what is going on within the world as she is an amazing place this tiny world of ours. One which within certain times we can be concerned yet go about our very own days. As that is the key to life regardless of where you are on this planet.
This commodity of time sometimes can be most annoying as one side has that desire to stay up a little and the other side does know it’s been a lengthy day. What I have learned today? Never run for an hour right after supper. So for now I bid you a fine weekends within spaces and places, as well within this very world of which we all reside with sneakers or otherwise. As these lands are where we plant our feet regardless of how large or small and the duration of any given situation. As more than often there is always a resolve.
I would like to be a little humane here and be me.
ReplyDeleteLove the phrase as you put it and please aloow me to quote' unquote it here ...
` Yet the average America would rather not have another outside of America write about their country - as it's like allowing someone into your home and then they are indicating what parts of the house are good and which are bad. The natural reflex question would be where you get off in speaking about my house when I allowed you to enter it."
That's an extremely a good one to explain what's in the hearts of so many that are living there including the naturalised citizen. America could still be in their best provided the citizens would start now to help their country and not so very dependent on their government. I grew up with a thinking too that America is a land of dreams but later on as i matured, i come to a realization that my own place is a dreamland too. We only have as a citizens to help our selves and be dependent. And don't put too much the burden on the government for we do, the very backbone which is 'our government could also be paralyzed'
... and i do firmly believe in every situations and in every problem there is always a corresponding solutions. A smart ideas in a given situations is better than what we find in books and oncde we hit on that ideas, we should by all means put it into practice before it becomes late. A drastic act on taxation and health care and other government policies may hurts many and would be very unpopular to the implementer but later on the harvest would be greater than what others though of.
Just be firm on it.
I enjoy reading "outside" perspectives on my country. So with me, say what you will about it. It gives me new thoughts and perspectives which I may not otherwise have.
ReplyDeleteI shall write in accord of how I do as I don't desire to be firm within this area Martess. It was my own thoughts last night, coupled with the fact that I would prefer to write as I do as there are a few which write in here and I value what they write which is pretty much within the same manner when I do. So hence the write.
ReplyDeleteI am not a firm writer or blogger I would much rather be flexible than rigid.
Susan I know you are and not all are alike the last three posts have been those of which I have looked at things from an view from both sides and most often it's philosophy for me but if I thought a write to be that of malice I would never post it. And within these past few days I have got on here much much later. So it's might be a catchup time - yet I bid you a great eve.
ReplyDeleteThat photo is a very good catch. We can't match the bird's flight, and it cannot carry a load. Each does their own job well. Good write, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks I have opted away from taking photography for a while with the exception of what I saved which is of recent. I was just going to write and guess whom about. I find your blog to be very natural and not one that I comment all the time but Gram's I don't know your first name but I do wish you a very Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteSo there and I never really thought about the bird comparison to the plan but I thought since I was writing this which were and have been a little different I would opt with this one last night when I got on. But over and above this I shall take this off but within one day you came into this world and its of worth to say Happy Birthday to you as well I hope that all is well with your eyes.
Hugs to a valued friend!
Jack you bring such a goood and introspective balance to everything you write about being both Canadian and American that I don't see how people can get upset with you.
ReplyDeleteToo many people right now in the USA want us to be the same nation we were in the past. But that would entail going back in time or asking other nations to regard themselves as our junior partners. Frankly, people should only be inspired by past events, not committed to keeping them relavant into the future.
I believe that there are more people which are coming to realize there is a good change necessary and you know me. I do that back up as for the most part there is that mentality within a percentile within the average American does not wish to hear writings outside of the country. As well, I think that many are entirely frustrated with the government as within that last 10+ there have been so many situations. One does wish to see the best within a country.
ReplyDeleteLook at the entire fabric which came by way of one very young nation when you come to think of it. I would dare to say that most wish to look the other way when it comes to what's happening within their own country. Even Canada for that matter took a blind eye within the history when Prime Minster Trudeau was the fist industralized country that within Canada's history when a terrorist organization killed off members within government as the FLQ did not want Canada to just be English. So Trudeau brought about martial law in Quebec and Ottawa. Most around the world at the time that he was the most crazed leader in doing so. But thos are past events. People on here don't upset me Doug. The likes of you have an open mind, where as there are others that don't.
For example if I mentioned that Canada kept with the promise to bring troops out of Afganastan, yet leave a group in place to assist - that might be taken wrongly. As well, as you know I have made mention that America does not use a typical banking system when they place monies into Afganastan. 90 billion US dollars were lost. 90 Doug - now this does go into that category of what CNN calls the ridiculist as so much money has been lost. You would think there is some structure as where that money could have went. Ratherly the thought is that the Talibusters were able to take the entire loot.
So I feel that there is some very troublesome problems within the infrastructure and I have neve seen this happen to this extent.
It might very well be the best option which Obama started to consider after Harper had decided in talks not to change the decision of leaving Afganastan as there are fundmental reason in why a decision was followed through. I believe the average american has for the last year wished for a returning of those which are in action. And it does make not only military needs but as well, if a country is continually at a loss with moneys. It's not unethical to bring back the troops.
I think we blink but most obvious to me is that many don't wish to here the real news. We all enjoy the world in which we reside mind you in a realistic manner people like to place things off as they are very worn out by all of this Doug. I don't believe anyone upset, I think that I took a week and during the evenings within a manner of how I see these two countries. But most of all I feel that pending what happens within all this. Doug I think everyone wishes to have closure to these matters - yet the American voice is not being heard.
I was wordy, I hope your weather is good over there. One last note we are not learning from the past, it seems there is more repeating which for the life of me is baffling.
This is a disturbing trend to me Jack. The public wants to get our troops out of Afghanistan and see a compromise on the deby ceiling. But too many powerful individuals are no longer listening to the people. They think public opinion can be reshaped as they wish, when the next elections come.
ReplyDeleteThe scary thing is I hope they aren't right.
As this is any but Democracy Doug and I do feel literally the same way as do you.
