Never participated, but was into Judo for nine years and karate for a spell which meant going through katas everyday. Katas are in some ways similar to tai chi, but they are combat moves so greater speed is demanded of the individual.
They're all here. In the park. Liked the motion movement they are creating. By the way, have you heard of 'Muay Thai' ... just asking please. It's a combinations of all martial arts movements.
Kano brought about Judo while Morhei Uyeshiba went another route with Aikido. With all honesty I never within my 20 some odd years believed in katas. Yet I can see where your coming from with katas in shodokan karate or whichever style it was.
Ironically the chap in the brown pants is here with Circus de Solei misspelling and I would never have known that. It sounds like a tea - Tee but yeah it's motion within a grace with mind and body being the essence.
It's come to be something which slows down things and Doug I thought I would place it on as when I saw this while heading from A to B. I had to pull over. It's all within the what is what the Chinese call Ying and Yang. There is truly more behind this and has been practiced for years and you would be surprised at the age range that partake within this.
Looks like a nice place to do Tai Chi. I did it once when I was in the hospital. It was fun but the moves were a little hard to remember. I think I was taught ten moves but there are a lot more then that. I have since forgotten the moves but it was very relaxing. Now, I am doing Kundalini Yoga but some day I might try Tai Chi again. :)
It is LOL I just arrived home and it's been a full full day Erika. Last night it was all too late and the other write and responce was one that my fingers get the best of me but it's a very nice Friday - Lao Tzo once wrote, " it's good to rest and embrace the fluidity without the thought of time". It's been a full day and I just arrived home and within a flow I say TGIF.
I love tai chi, I try it when I can get the class on satellite

ReplyDeleteWell documented Jack.
ReplyDeleteI've heard it's a lot more demanding than it looks to a lay person.
