I get these things in my email and I just click and delete them as I have no understanding of what they are. I really do mean that if you have the time please do explain I would appreciate it.
Same here. I see people talking about twittering on here all the time but don't know what they actually are or do. Twitter seems to be a form of sending quick text messages about what you're doing. Like: I'm on my way to work. Or: Just found a sale on such and such. Or Just ran into Brad Pitt, woohoo! that sort of thing. They call it following, I think. Sounds kinda boring to me.
Dunno what Fanbox is, haven't heard of that one.
I've also heard of Facebook but think that's something like Mult. Not sure though.
Well twitter seems to be some kind of theading forum I guess as not I have no desires to be within it and as far as Fanbox it beat me what all that I know is that my name does come up within in. I just click and delete. As I have no clue what they are
I know Facebook is out there but one blog works for me.... Thanks wulfie...
I had a problem with the fan box thing once too. When you click on it you can request not to recieve notices from them again. It used to drive me insane.
Goldie I like this one I loved Y360 before but one could literally spend the entire day on a blog. Multiply did not come bay way of choice but it came as there was a fast movement back a while ago as blogs were not blogs anymore I think they became much more - but I like to keep it KISS > keep it simple and silly :)
Jack, I don't know about this Fan Box thingy, and from AtoZ, I've got a site somewhere..and no I do not go from place to place on any of them.Twitter wanna know what you are doing with a limit of 150 words and a bunch of people following you and they wanting you to follow them.I have facebook and don't even bother unless its some one I know that has added me to their friends list and I gotta know them from Multiply or my 360 friends group...which happens to be my hangout spots when I do post..I'm not into all this networking stuff either, cause if they ain't trying to sell you something, the reast is contrite and I believe in KISS too.:))Have yourself a good night and thanks for the visit today. Loveya
Its the most primitive form of social networking, Jack, extremely dry and lifeless! Surprisingly, every Tom, Dick and Harry seem to have hooked on to it for reasons unknown to any rational human being, IMHO! lol
Just had shower here as it's a tad cooler today but yeah I am just going to continue the old click and delete as I will just go to my desktop and open up the emails. (were are my glasses ....... ok found them...) yeah I find that there are some good writes that now and then I will go back into Y360 however due to my server for some reason it is slow but that's find by me.
Well whatever it is, in the world I grew up in twittering was a combination of whispers and giggles done by young girls usually over some boy(s). As in Mama saying, "You girls quit that twittering". Boys didn't twitter.
Twitter seems to be a haven for those who love to "text" message with phone/multi-function devices. Each entry is less than forty words, quick snippets of thought or journal type posts. Mostly designed to create interest and keep others "following" the thread. A variety of celebrities, in entertainment and politics have sites---those seem to attract the most followers.
As for Fanbox... I don't have a clue, get those same pesky e-mails and delete them. Get any feedback on that site, let me know!
Ok well I am old school here :) Well I have always been open to new things but right now I just enjoy writing to other and within this fits well and now I know. I never go to the site or if it's a site - fanbox .......it seems to want to do the same thing with making some connection to a cell - oh well. There are only so many things one can do in one day.
I am not sure about the fan box, but I do use twitter. Twitter to some people is like self-promoting- anything about you or another kind of social network where you communicate with your friends. If you set your twitter for public and people can see your posts, then if they are interested in you they will follow you, you can follow them back or leave them as followers. I used twitter for fun at the first time,- just wrote down what I had in mind with only limited characters per post. here is mine just for an example - http://twitter.com/lingua
Ok will take a look but I am not going to join it Lulu...but it's something that I was interested in and for some reason I get a bad connection on this silly computer.
My first was Y360 then I migrated to Multiply. After years here, I thought maybe there's a better bloghost out there, gotta be, right? I mean, I was tlling myself, Multiply can't be the best... heehee..
So I tried facebook, twitter and one or 2 others. Later I realised most others are adoslescent hounds, except for eblogger of course. I find eblogger is more serious.. So I left them all. Twitter is like more suitable for people who have something to promote, making sales pitch, announcing special offers, etc.
So for me.. looks like I'll be here for awhile until something else, better, comes along.
I had a group never considered any blogs what so ever. There after I closed up the group as it was run by 5 different people from all corners of the world - kinda a very like a writing PP, and thereafter I too had Y360 and then went to multiply.
The person that set it up for me was from Malaysia believe it or not!
So this does well for me as I don't with to be all over the place and I really find this to be very interesting within all of our writes.
Twitter seems all the rage in the major media--I'm still trying to understand why. I can't imagine how anyone would want to know what everyone is doing all the time.
These guys answered your question and I have to agree one blog is plenty. I am on Facebook due to a niece that lives out of town. She prefers FB. And I have lots of silly friends there too~smilies~d~
I gave up Facebook too after a few months as it seemed infantile or at least geared to folk who wanted to be most popular in high school. I gave up Yahoo 360 too as it was so slow and kept losing things I posted. Twitter seems inane too. I don't want anyone checking to see if I had a good breakfast or left for an appointment on time. I would rather read your Rod Stewart blog as it gave me goosebumps. Some people call then Holy Ghostbumps.....who knows but they hit me when I am emotionally touched to the core. Even seeing horses running in a field and sometimes the music at church or a reading....things of beauty and universal truth... So I think you are right....they are not worth the time

welcome. And yeah, one social blog is plenty to keep up with I think.
ReplyDeleteDitto here...
ReplyDeleteFan box, Mash, and to a certain extant Face book are kinda adolescent. There are other blog sites which are more intellectual.
ReplyDeleteI had a problem with the fan box thing once too. When you click on it you can request not to recieve notices from them again. It used to drive me insane.

ReplyDeleteI just delete most all my emails now but not those on my main frame...it's kind of spammy. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on joining MENSA soon and would love anything which would challenge my intellect.
ReplyDeleteThis is a blog? I know the meaning of the word...
