The right to bare arms is a right. I have my own feelings on this, as I don’t believe in guns however that is my own point of view. Yet there are some that still adhere so strongly to the Second Amendment within the United States.
Nowhere in the Second Amendment will you find the words ''guns,'' ''rifles'' or ''pistols” referencing this word called “arms”. Sniper guns, AK 47’s, this list goes one… are these types guns be necessary and acceptable for society at large?
For myself I truly believe that they should remain in the hands of where they belong – with the police force, military. I can’t see where any neighborhood in any land really requires guns of this nature...if I may ask what are your thoughts? There are large differences in the rules with guns in Canada but I am not indicating Canada’s way is better. We just have a different system, as do many other countries. Recently President Obama due to more than one reason had brought this issue up. He has stepped back on it for the moment while Senator Hillary isn’t - nor is Michelle Obama.
I really do feel that now is the type for us to start looking into our own backyards perhaps its worth something to think about. Sure there of recent there are many things that have taken place but from this vantage I understand moderately how people wish to have some form of protection.
However military and assault guns I do believe should stay just where they belong.
Amen! I just posted an e-mail contents on the calendar.
ReplyDeleteHonestly this and a few other things have I have been thinking with regards with. Usually it comes down to me stating that I am dual. As I look at it from all sides of the coin.

ReplyDeleteThanks I read it and it's a valid issue within these days.
ReplyDeleteAh.. clearly.. you don't understand.. WHY it was written in the Constitution. You see.. before we had the right to carry arms.. the military could come in and conscript WHATEVER they desired. Now.. our forefathers.. thought this was a load of BS.. so, they wrote it in.. that EVERYONE had the right to bear arms.. and to be able to bear the SAME strength as the military.. to prevent a military coup. They were NOT dummies. lol. How do you think.. they were so successful in tossing England on it's butt?? THEY WERE ALL ARMED.
ReplyDeleteGo back.. and read the Jefferson papers.. and this shall be all I have to say on this subject.
Reasonable, true and the end of the discussion for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't currently own a gun, have owned one in the past, and could do so again.
Regardless of whether I own one or not, it is a Constitutional right and I support that right among the other rights.
Whether or not the law-abiding citizenry have guns, the lawless always will.
Without a gun, I'll make a weapon of whatever is at hand in order to protect those I care for, and that I own. I will execute my right to bear arms.
Yes it was during the times that back when the English were questing and taking over all parts of the Americas - Canada - United States they never go past that part.
ReplyDeleteBack then there were not dumb at all they were and that is why George Washington, Benjamin Franklin - very wise man, and the entire wise gentleman that decided it was time for the land to have a name and have something declared to England.
George Washington with Thomas Jefferson did the first draft if I recall from my history - I could be wrong. Canada came to be a slow movement that stayed to true but did change and evolved from the English government years later (even though many were friends within this area if I may say.)United States revolted as in no manner did they wish to have England rule over them and well it's history of "then".
But this is now. I am really thinking that this is a time that we now might want to be reviewing things and if we don't look towards some change. Within the right to bare arms I believe is an American value - but I don't believe that the right to have a military gun is proper. No not in these times nor does it take away the freedom within the right to bear arms. One example while living in New York – I lived in Flushing New York – there was a hit by a gang in this nice condominium complex and one young man lost is mother to the bullets that were sprayed across the entire first floor. Now that was something that only came by way of the right to have the wrong type of arms.
Yes it was during the times that back when the English were questing and taking over all parts of the Americas - Canada - United States they never got to Latin America.

Truly respected Charles but you would never look to buy and machine gun....I would not think so...but I do feel that write is something that is as mentioned an American value....and right.
ReplyDeleteI wish the whole world was rid of weapons, that would put us on equal footing. If I believed for a moment that Military and Police were somehow an elite form of humans, full of honesty, integrity, and incapable of unlawful threats of any kind, then I live in a pipe dream. They are just people, not demi-gods.
ReplyDeleteTruth is, gun laws only punish lawful citizens, the criminals don't abide by these laws, never will. I have no desire to cower under a table while a dirtbag blows my family, co-workers, schoolkids, or people at the mall away with impunity. The real threat of people being armed and able to defend themselves is in many cases the only deterrent. Sitting around waiting on the calvary will make you a statistic, and nothing more than a crime scene photo.
Byron I think at least the assault guns is one are that is worth tending with. As it's always been a subject of conviction. This is why I wrote about it as it's not about Canada or United States or what is going on in Latin America. It's really some of the things that Obama is coming up with and I am not sure how well it sits, but assault rifles within the American way....I do believe as one that has lived on both sides - it's not something that America should adopt the ideals of Canada - as the rifle registry laws into a blunder.
ReplyDeleteIt really comes down to what do we want within our own lands. How many kids are killed each year by way of a gun...I think it belongs in the hands of where they belong.
Again, when only the police hold guns, only the police will shoot people.
ReplyDeleteGive me a badge, and I am a policeman.
Wise words...but some are not wrong to feel differently as it's been within America since the beginning...so everyone has a different feeling on this I am sure. I don't have a badge nor do I wish to carry one. I am not a system that handles domestic matters.
ReplyDeleteAssault weapons, or a stick...?
ReplyDeleteOnly the lawless use them in a destructive manner.
I say prosecute criminals, not decent folks.
Assault weapons are not any more deadly in the hands of a conscientious person than a butter knife is.
Banning them doesn't do a thing to protect citizens, only allows the criminal and the military the right to bear them. Criminals make up their own rules.
Any such law is a waste of time creating more dissatisfaction with a government that seems persistent at continuing to show its inability to address real issues while wasting time on things that are only good for those who seem to need their fur rubbed a certain way.
Economy, education, Credit Card companies out-of-control. are good places to work on.
I don't agree Charles...and I say that as a friend this is where within Multiply we can have different views. And still be good friends...
ReplyDeleteI do not currently own a gun. I work with severely mentally ill patients. I have been stalked by one of them in the past. The police told me to put an alarm on my house and buy a gun. I have the alarm. Different situations require different solutions. I would not get an assault rifle, but a powerful enough weapon to stop whatever the threat was quickly.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, Jack...
ReplyDeletel think when a person holds a gun, or knows they are allowed to use it,...it makes them different straight away...
ReplyDeletel hope here in australia, that we never ever have to feel that we have to do that.
l cant understand how america got so paranoid.
I don't believe in having guns of any kind around me and when any of my young grannies have them,I take them because i hate guns.Far too many lives are taken, homes invaded etc. Here in my state, when Obama was elected, all the guns and ammo was bought up for whatever reason they could think of.A right to bear arms is left up to each individual, but for me and my house, guns are forbitten.
ReplyDeleteJack, here's to wishing you and all your friends a good evening and a great weekend.Seeya
I agree with you Lynn, a good friends wife is a swat team negotiator that retired early and started a company. She had clients that literally went into hiding one of her clients was featured on the news.
ReplyDeleteNot one for guns as mentioned last night. My own opinion. They all too often get into the wrong hands.
Hi Jerene - just got home and aside from this I hope all is going well and peace to you over there...
ReplyDeleteI don't think America is paranoid...it's more of something that has been with them since the inception of United States as a country.
ReplyDeleteSome hold rifles for hunting and have them locked up and although I don't hunt - most of them really do it in a very appropriate manner - as far as assault rifles I vote no. It's something that is on the agenda within United States right now.
Well wishes to you as well Parrie.
