A Good Friday…

After a great time with my cousin, I then took my mother up to see my father he is doing tremendously well.  It seems that all are very pleased and my father even started telling me stories of some of his earlier days as he does.  I did not take my camera into the hospital this time but his infection is nearly gone and they have changed his medications.  The specialist another one came in – an older man and indicated the changes that had been made and it all seem well.

So we went into this area where you can close the door and I was sitting there listening to the two of them reminiscing.  The story one I have never heard of from him and back in the late 50's I can't recall the name of England's head of security.  Due to situations of two high profile people from landing not in Ottawa but in Newfoundland he was sent to over watch things with security.  Two generals from India and Pakistan ending up having a plane delay for some reason and ending up in this international Airport during that time.  How this story got started is beyond me and there were two ladies that pulled up a chair and asked him whom he was.  I walked out and let him have his time as he was in his element.  I just talked with the nurses that were on, and then when after when I got the "ring", I went and got her and he walked back to his room and said don't bother coming in tonight get some rest and come in early in the morning.  He said, "You know some of these girls are single Jack".  Yep that is the man.  I grabbed a wheel chair and even though she was stubborn with the help of one very nice Filipino nurse we she sat in there and I took her down to my car.  I treated my mother to fish and chips and ate with her.  Afterwards it was a quick run to the grocery story for some diet Pepsi and a return call to my cousin that I had met up earlier with.  How that turned into my father talking and then one lady came in and pulled up a seat – well my father was in his element was rather obvious but some of these stories when I hear as I thought I have heard them all but this one was more funny than anything else. But that was my father when he was young - gosh I really would like to know how he did things back then.

After all this, I went and got some fish and chips as mom is a moderate with being catholic but it was something that made way for a good thing within the day.  Easter comes and goes.  I am Catholic combined with a base that believes in values and does not dismiss others for what they believe in.  But I am certainly not afraid to be pleased to say what a religion that is part of my background.

Happy easter all...
