Better Late Than Never

I wished to come back to the American Thanks Giving. I have been around to several blogs and doing those wishes. I find that there are certain things we still do hold onto. We can cast away so many things. But the certainty is in what we all enjoy.

I loved the American Thanks Giving, there is something that is different in America with this season. I can't put my finger but as I recall it is something that people really enjoy. Yes it's the several things - I guess that would all depend on where you reside within the USA.

But it's rather than do the history on where it all came from. I would rather just indicate how I saw it as a time that was something of value. People got together there are some things in America that are different in a great way.
But my point is the traditional values that we have come to give up. Perhaps it's good that we do hold onto them.

Maybe the value is in those commodities that we so often replace.

  1. Perhaps it is simply one of the few times of the year when the hustle and bustle slows long enough that people can recall the gratitude and love of family that make life worthwhile.

  2. To answer your earlier question....I came back due to a person being hit with Cancer. Other words I would still be there probably....Secondly, before getting off here I thought I would wish a few a second time a happy one as all too often I never have the chance to get to there blogs. But I like you have lived on both sides and missed being a "yank" by merely two weeks. Hence, I don't see it as a "non thanks giving" as you placed on my blog back a few... I keep in touch with some of the people I see as great friends. And most don't blog or at least they don't on Multiply.
So in a way I am a mix, but it's all good as each country is looking within their own, and at the same time they look from the outside as well.

America just had a large turn about and this a historical time.

One word may be of value - integrity...

  4. It's the BEST!

I love having family AND friends gather round my table at meal time and stay there laughing and talking til late into the evening (the last of the guests just left moments ago.

It gets hectic but it all comes together at the sit down, to enjoy the meal.

    Thanks for this post, Jack.

You're an honourary American! Welcome anytime.

  5. G'day Jack,
Any day that brings people together & unites family & friends in counting their blessings (we all have many if we really think about it) and being thankful for them can't be a bad thing, I salute the ones that take part in the celebration

  8. In a world where gloom is master... it is indeed, nice to take the time to give thanks for the wonderful things we DO have. I think Thanksgiving is an amazing tradition. We have ours in October and even tho my meals aren't the most traditional ..... we still to this day... take a moment to go around the table and talk about what makes us smile and give thanks for it.

My Xmas season is already very hectic with both my children having their birthdays in the middle of it all. So I'm kinda glad our thanksgiving isn't so close to the festive Santa/shopping centers birthday!
