Ballad of John Lennon

Standing in the dock at Southampton
trying to get to Holland or France
The man in the mac said
you've got to go back
You know they didn't even give us a chance

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Finally made the plane into Paris
Honeymooning down by the Seine
Peter Brown call to say
you can make it O.K.
You can get married in Gibraltar near Spain

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Drove from Paris to the Amsterdam Hilton
Talking in our beds for a week
The newspapers said
say what're you doing in bed
I said we're only trying to
get us some peace

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Saving up your money for a rainy day
giving all your clothes to charity
Last night the wife said
Oh boy when you're dead
you don't take nothing with you
but your soul, think

Made a lightning trip to Vienna
Eating chocolate cake in a bag
The newspapers said
she's gone to his head
They look just like to Gurus in drag

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Caught the early plane back to London
Fifty acorns tied in a sack
The men from the press
said we wish you successs
It's good to have the both of you back

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

  2. G'day Jack,
I also loved that tune but this is the first time I have known all the words, the hectic life of the rich and famous doesn't sound like a lot of fun sometimes

  3. The ballad of John and Yoko - was one that I wished to express, and then "Get Back Seemed to be fitting as well. It was my form of expression after spending 3 hours at a computer and getting it prepared for work and I formatted everything to zeros on my hard drive and then put everything back up.

  4. Love that song. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Beatles. Good choice.

  5. Well there is actually two songs - The ballad which I could relate to ....."it ain't easy"...and then I this video on - something that U2 copied by going on a building just as the Beatles. "Get Back" seemed to be a song yesterday I could related too.
Slowly you go from shock to angry then to tears and then you pick your self up....even if it's within 24 or 48 hours and with some small support.

  6. I am not angry as I know where things are at and I am comfortable in my shoes, and pride is not going to get in my way.
