We never should forget
those that served our countries
to allow our freedom
and sacrificed their own lives...
In what is called the "crown" countries this day is celebrated with a poppy and within United States this day is known as Veterans Day...
There was this beautiful poem in the Montreal Gazette this morning:
ReplyDelete"When You Go Home
Tell Them Of Us And Say
For Your Tomorrow
We Gave Our Today".
Lest we forget.
Very nice saying I was reading some and I look forward to those that are there and that we do bring them back, as war is something that with all daring and courage people take that oath and they serve there country to afford it peace and freedom.
ReplyDeleteWe salute all who have served America today.
ReplyDeleteWe all salute...as it's Veterans Day as well as Remembrance Day. We all have the something in common with all of this Cath. So, although many of us cannot actually "remember," we owe it to those who have served to learn, to understand, and to appreciate the task they have undertaken. Generations of Veterans, through their courage, determination and sacrifice have helped to ensure that we live in a free and peaceful country.
ReplyDeleteIf we can understand this we have honored those that give us our very freedom.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
ReplyDeleteAge shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
Really nice Denise
ReplyDelete~ Lest we Forget ~
within the respect of what wars bring on, which no one ever wishes what is most important is that we are able to recall and respect those that have been in war. It's our own given right to pay tribute to those that have done something in honor giving us what we have.
May we never forget the people of all the wars, ones that they were called upon to do, and made there own sacrifices.
Bless each & every one of them.
ReplyDeleteAs Red Poppy sways in the breeze every November
In humbleness we bow our heads and remember.
Your shrines the world over with flowers are beset
Because you sanctioned our freedom, lest we forget
Amen...
ReplyDeleteis difficult amigo to forget when there are walls and poppy, national wreaths and memorial museums-----but the invisible amigo-----those in re hab or those in the soup lines----the ones under the bridge or by the small fire obscured by the trees off the isolated roads-----the solitary person in a run down rooming house drunk with lonliness and personal doubt----the old man on the bench that no one smiles at ----these amigo are our challenge----we must lift the cloud and make visible that which is invisible--------
ReplyDeleteIamnada! Si, you are correct with the situation that does come with poverty and the homeless - it's something that all too often happened with many veterans. And yes we should not forget these as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much - it's great to see your writes if I may say!
