As today was a day that I had onto myself I had met up with a group which some of you may know they are called, Maroon 5. From there it was enjoyable to have a small chat and the production assembly is from Tennessee. One thing led to another and then I was offered two back stage passes. I can't say I have ever taken to this group I remember their first hit yet before you know it I was down to the major auditorium and had a full explanation of all that goes into the process of setting up the stage. Now these people really place allot of work within the set up it's rather amazing with how much time is placed into the entire ensemble of a stage. There after, I had some fun with dabbling with a few things. Then while I was taking some pictures on the sidelines the production manager told me that there are two front row seats as well as back stage passes.
By the time that all was said and done - I called my friend Jim which was working full overtime (till midnight) so then I had a brain storm as two of Jim's children would definitely get a hoot out of this. Then I went to the administration office and made arrangements so that Colby and Kelton were able to have these tickets and passes by way of transferring them from my name (which I had two passes and tickets) and right now as I write I think that they are having the time of there life. Kelton is 13 and Colby is 18. Jim said, "I owe you one big time" as Kelton as well as his sister Colby which are much like a nephew and niece. Will within their glory.
The meeting with this production manager which was from Tennessee was all too neat as well there was no expectation in getting a two passes and tickets. Yet as it was all within a short period of time combined with the fact that I have plans for tomorrow morning - these two kids shall be within bliss. Kelton has been playing guitar for some two years now and Colby she is a tremendous young lady - it seems that just yesterday she she was a baby. Yet right now I am sure they are having a ball.
Such was apart of the day.
...lol...did you think of me Jack? I love going to concerts, as you know. I've seen Maroon 5 twice. More recently, back at the end of June. Kelton and Colby are having an awesome time, I'm sure. I just got home from seeing a Theory of a Deadman concert. So tell us Jack, was your meeting up with Maroon 5 a schedule event, or something that just happen, and fell into place?
ReplyDeleteThere is no Concord any more Theresa! :)
ReplyDeleteIf all goes as planned Colby is going to email me part of the concert.
I honestly never took to Maroon 5 - yet it was rather cool touring this stage. I never met the band I only met
with the production crew - not as I had met with James Blunt a few years back or KISS and Van Halen.
So all considered I thought that I would pass this on to these two. If it would have been another band I would
have even gone just myself. But I never listen that much to Maroon 5 - but I am sure they are just now getting
out of the concert.
that sounds like an interesting project..and very nice people involved jack:)
ReplyDeleteVery very down to earth literally Caroline.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of that group and some of the songs I like also. That was very nice of you to give your tickets to those 2 kids, bet they will enjoy the concert.
ReplyDeleteYeah Marty it was a full day and thier first hit I liked but I never followed the group. Yet during the day I had my fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jack, please post some pictures later if Colby sents you some :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think it shall be tonight as by the time they get home as the Credit Union Centre is off on the outskirts of the city.
ReplyDeletesure is a lot of work done to set up for a concert I remember years ago seeing some of this myself in much the same way with bands like ACDC and Rose Tattoo readily come to mind.
ReplyDeletegiving the tickets to those young couple was a really lovely thing you did Jack and I am sure as you said they will be enjoying every minute of the night too.
They did and there is allot that goes into these stages - it's literally a six hour job. The neatest thing is how they all have it down too a tee after three concerts are done. There is more that goes on behind the scenes ........well lets not go there Kenny - if you know what I mean. :)
ReplyDeleteBut the Ride is that of Rock n Roll...:)
It's good to be a rockstar! :)
I sure do Jack :-)))
ReplyDeleteLiterally this is the only song which I enjoy of theirs it reminded me of the old band of the 80's Go West's.
ReplyDeleteThen Go West there was similiar chords to an extent:
It was rock yet with a funky side...
Enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteNever, ever, a dull day for you, Jack! And you've set it up so nicely for the children to build a lasting memory -- not just of a good time one afternoon, but the freely giving from one to another. Good.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting experience for you and your friends children
ReplyDeleteHave it was a fine day from the morning through.
ReplyDeleteI found that the ceremonies here for 9/11 are tomorrow while there were a few things to do and Grammy there are some that have voided my posts due to the writes of prior to September 11 - yet today was a grand day from meeting up with my friend Jim and his wife and his son - to then partaking within two which got married.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is peaking into the mid 80's now rather than the highs of the 90's...but for autumn - "these are the times certainly does apply."
From yesterday if this does work.....fingers crossed.
