Outside of Multiply what are three of your favorite websites if I may as again - so often I find that we do miss out and I just have had this computer done and I love reading websites as well. I am sure that you do 2. Three of mine that I can think of are: 1. http://bigthink.com/ 2. http://www.aldaily.com/ 3. http://www.ted.com/ Perhaps you have a few and it would be interesting as if one was to exchange computers we all would have different favorites from which we read outside. I found one a few that had posted a few links and I found them sensational to read. If only one - this is fine as well.

ReplyDeleteLOL it's alright - thank much.
ReplyDeleteI only have multiply, yahoo answers, and yahoo chat with my friends. I do go to facebook to check up on some of my friends and family who are on there and play bejeweled once in a while. What I enjoy most on the internet is interacting with people on messenger of windows live since it is the only one that is reliable but my friends are on yahoo which keeps disconnecting. I do go to youtube sometimes. Usually this takes the whole day as I am in here off and on.
ReplyDeleteBesides here, my Yahoo email is always open. I shop on Amazon a lot, used books & CDs, stuff for work. The last few months I've been in ncaa.com for basketball stats as I am a March Madness freak. Of course Google is a staple, for surfing for whatever question I want answered.
ReplyDeleteYeah but these are blogs there is something to be said with websites and now and then I am amazed with some of them such as ancestory.com, nasa.gov, pbs.org....yet hugs there to you on this eve here Nancy.
ReplyDeleteSummer there is a very neat application that I was thinking of the other day and it's www.copernic.com. In this case it's an application and I think you might find it to be of great interest. I used to do much more reading on sites of philosophy and so forth. Today as I was rather home bound I looked at all my favorites and thought there may be some others that are of worth. Yet still I do believe there are some very interesting sites and I was curious to see what others have a few if not more.

ReplyDeletephotobucket i am not sure is this a web site?
twitter
No this are all for the most part communication and social networks Ericka....
ReplyDeleteThere really is a difference.
Jack, I just checked out aldaily...I love it!!! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMost of the things I look at online pertain to art or music. And lots of them locally.
I check NPR every few days. But then I listen to it in the car.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome there are many great sites out there and the read is great.
ReplyDeleteBut so I ponder if we are learning or just communicating by way of blogging.
Just my thoughts.
chfweb.net It's a homeschoolers' forum, with topics on everything from homeschooling, homemaking, current issues, family relationships, a teen forum, you name it.
ReplyDeletefacebook; to keep up with distant family
That's about it for me.
I love http://www.thebanmappingproject.com/ it's a fascinating site
ReplyDeleteFaye, I still do read sites, from Universities and then ones I find interesting to read. Thanks and a good week ahead to you.
ReplyDeleteStanford University. Facebook again is a communications local not a website such as http://www.brookings.edu/ and then
Oprah just started up this OWN....which I am sure will cover many areas.
Now why does that not surprise me Sharon :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy ted.com, I am going to check out the other 2 you posted.
ReplyDeleteSocial network, i have two, Jack. Multiply and f/b. Other than that, nothing. Except those that you adding once in awhile in your blogs. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm.. its tough to just name 3...but here goes
ReplyDeleteNpr.org, MIT's opencourseware, and ebooks at http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page
I frequent the National geographic, NASA, BBC News websites too..and to Samachar.com which is an Indian portal for news.
Oh and not to forget Youtube for most anything funny or old comedy shows.
ReplyDeletefacebook.com
ReplyDeletemeinvz.de
yahoo.de
Did you check out the site? The virtual tours are amazing.
ReplyDeleteGreat and thank you Rashmi. I have to look at Samachar.com and I love NPR and yes books as well. The BBC started charging for it's page I believe.
ReplyDeleteAnd this MIT's opencourseware sounds very interesting along with Samarchar. I am going to add in here there is a Cille that I am going to send over to you for
consideration as she writes very much within philosophy. Thank you again Rashmi.
I did last night Sharon. What I am doing here is looking for other websites as after I did a format and reinstall of my home desktop, I wished to see what others read outside of a social network. Sometimes I think we tend to forget all that is there and we just use only a portion of a computer. Where there still are some treamendous sites Sharon. This is one example and thanks.
ReplyDeletePatty I love TED.COM when I received this by a friend here where I live, I then started to think over how much
ReplyDeletetime I spend on here as well as how much I spend in learning and exploring.
No I was referring to websites, not social networks.
ReplyDeleteThere is a difference between the two Maritess.
utube is a hoot. I never thought within my life I would find some of the old things as before. That is
ReplyDeletean excursion onto itself and then some. :)
Part of the reason for the mapping project is for virtual tours for school children. Also because of preservation some sites are closed to the public all together or only open occasionally. This allows people to explore the sites without doign damage. People don't know but even human breath releases chemicals that affect the delicate paintings on the wall. Also the oils from peoples skin is very damaging to the tombs. Whlie everyone would like to experience them, allowing them in will eventually distroy them for future generations, This is a good fix
ReplyDeletePeople seemingly can't differentiate between these websites and social sites.
ReplyDeletehttp://wwii.ca/index.php < Website
http://www.usask.ca/ < Website
http://multiply.com/ < Social site

I am much into 'googling out things and places, Jack. And that fascinated me more than I can explain. It's just amazing i could go places with just a touch of a finger. I love the virtual walks to different places and visiting places provided by googles helps me do that. And yep, am on to some medical history. Reading it, to keep me at bay with recent discoveries and know hows, thou' i am not a medical practitioner.
ReplyDeleteI never have favorites.
ReplyDeleteI have nf's &
former nf's.
Like a youngster.
