It seems like a repeating record. But if so so be it...
It still amazes me with the people that one does meet while embarking on an interest. Some people may be more prone to doing things in the morning and some are more so at night.
During this labor day weekend I thought I would go and get in the morning with some pictures. Yeah we all do it and within it you go out and then you just are taking things while at the same time capturing the essence of what you like by way of they mind's eye.
Ironically today I ran into a married couple she was a retired nurse, and he was a retired radiologist. As I was on the grounds this area of the park in the morning I could not resist in approaching them and introducing myself as here they were doing some various creative pictures together.
How one things does lead into another as I he showed me his camera and apparently he has been doing photography on the side for the past twenty years. We certainly had a great discussion on that. There after what brought me initially over to them was the camera and apparently they were looking at angles and ways to be creative as their daughter is getting married tomorrow.
I showed him a few of my shots and then he asked about angles and she was into it as well. We both exchanged emails and thereafter we both went on our way. So often I have run into some very good people and for myself during this weekend as simple as it is - it's really something in whom you meet and how you meet them. All in all we both gained something in our conversation and it really is interesting the people that you do meet while your enjoy a hobby as well as the weather.
For me that is where the flow really comes about is within the creativity. I certainly am not perfect in comparison to so many pictures I take but I literally do enjoy it, the photography as well as they variety of people you do come to meet.
I have nearly covered most of this city yet there is always something interesting that seemingly there is always that portion of time which one can find the value within their interests. I never in my life thought that I would enjoy a hobby so much, if I went back twenty years ago, I certain was not doing this but these days I don't know all that many that don't embark on a hobby as such as within the morning you will see all the cameras out.
Seems there are the morning to afternoon joggers and then then there are the those hiking about with from small to large cameras.
As long as I have a camera in my hands when ever I am out and about I am happy.
ReplyDeleteRita likewise I really can't describe how enjoyable it is and the people that you do meet. I edit most of my pictures as I don't wish to be some person that just takes peoples pictures but it's sensational and I love it....as I am sure you do.
ReplyDeleteInterests seeming are a rather good thing.
Just keep on doing your hobby. I, for one, enjoy seeing places I will probably never get to visit.
ReplyDeleteKaryn yes it's all good...
ReplyDeleteMeeting people with common interests is always fun. Hobbies are a good way to meet interesting folks and to form good friendships, as you are discovering!
ReplyDeleteTerri don't you know it...:)
ReplyDeleteNicely put, Jack. Photography has really became a passion for me in the last year or so. It has become as much as a means of expressing myself as writing is. I haven't had the blessing of coming upon someone with like interests, while out shooting pictures. What a nice connection, to see someone enjoying the same things as you, and to be able to approach them to talk about it. I'm afraid I'm a bit bashful and shy away from people at times.
ReplyDeleteI rarely go anywhere these days without my camera . I just took my son to the local McDonalds (which is at a truck stop) and I saw an entire Mariachi band, instruments in hand crossing the street. Guess what! I didn't have my camera with me!
My son just laughed, and said " Mom, you wouldn't get out and go chasing them down the street for a picture would you?" well, yes, I would!
It's a passion and I find that it's all to interesting the people and things that you do meet. I like you don't very often now do much with people but today this was and exception but we all write as well as take pictures and what would we do without I ask sometimes. It's all to interesting as well what we all do share within the content of our own blogs.
ReplyDeleteA very nice story Deb!
Morning light or late afternoon light---I was told by a very capable photographer---is the most flattering in which to shoot.
ReplyDeleteYes Jack, there is nothing like a common interest to bring us together... Glad you enjoyed your morning out...
ReplyDeleteWhat I noticed is that you took the initiative to speak. Thumb's up. I do not find that easy.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I really appreciate is the digital medium as before it was quite expensive to do photography, even more so here in France than in the States, and I could not shoot as many as necessary to get better ones.
I often wait for the evening light, mornings can be foggy.
I so enjoyed reading this. Yes we meet so many nice and interesting people in our travels. There is so much we can learn from the strangers we meet. Enjoy this Labor Day weekend. Hugs and Smiles. Sandy
ReplyDeleteVery much so, Mia - the commonalities do.
ReplyDeleteIf there is something of interest DJ, I am not the type of person that just talks to anyone - but I will not hesitate where there is something of interest.
ReplyDeleteSome prefer the evenings, sometimes you change the routine but for the most part I find that interest within the mornings. But it's all within the balance of all aspects of life.
Enjoy your afternoon there ( I think it would be at this time ).
Thank you Sandy and the same to you. By the way you do have some fantastic writings.
ReplyDeleteThis is good Sue.
ReplyDeleteAlways wonderful when you have an encounter that makes the journey worthwhile!
ReplyDeleteArielle have we not all in some way shape and form?
ReplyDeleteMy camera is always with me. I'm now creating acrylic paintings from some of my photographs...stylized, of course. And, yes, we meet wonderful people. When I went to Moab, I met a French couple from the South of France, another from Northern France, and had a beer and watched the sunset at Dead Horse Point with German tourists. At a painting class the other night, I met two other women and we also exchanged names/ph#s/e-mail addresses. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWould think that we do everyday!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved cameras since early in my childhood. remember the Polaroid Cameras? You could see the picture print out right away and I thought they were awesome even though they never did take too great of pictures! That and they were expensive to use. Now I wish I would have had a digital camera when my children were little you can take unlimited amounts of pics and not have to use up or develop film..and you get to see the pictures right away. My camera goes everywhere with me now. If I forget I see something I want a picture of!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Gosh I have been away from this ----and to you as well! A great weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteYes it's very enjoyable...ironic whom we run into and all...
