Morning Rant

Well as you know I am on a small waiting period with some health matters but that is not stopping anything I do. Yesterday I had ventured to a camera shop.

Boy I will tell you these places are packed. Within an area of nearly only 1,500 sq.ft., there were tons of people not buying just the old small cameras but literally ones that are worth nearly a thousand dollars. I struck up a conversation with to older gents as I thought they would be more on my level as I did dare to show my camera and here they too had some Olympus something that they had just got and were getting their camera lens serviced - sounds like and cost like a secondary car if you as me.

I am considering buying a new camera the card with all the specs and the cost is a good rate of return one is a Canon....for some reason I am not a big canon fan, and then there is the Nikon D-60 if my memory serves me right. There is one other one and it's on sale and has everything including this nearly one foot long attachable zoom lens.

Needs and wants. I will head back and go to a few other places and I might just end up keeping what I have as it is nearly three years old now when all this photo technology was starting to become popular - but now it's the area in which everyone wants to not just take pictures - they want to capture the essence of things.

I am conservative with how I spend and I am great at negotiating a price down but one has to ask themselves where they wish to spend there money wisely.

Today was suppose to go up to 30 degrees but it shall be nice. So says the weather man. So we shall see what all come about today. This last week I have never relogged on to a computer so much within one day.

Last night I had a very good friend tell me to "go take pictures". And the best time to do it is either early very early in the morning or I have to head out one of these nights. The only problem with that is that with the crime we have had these days you have police all over the city. Early morning seem much better than at night, and right now I am looking outdoors and I can see I missed that sunrise which I wished to capture. There is always another day from which to do it.

Does one do things in a forced manner or do they just do things as they come on weekends - I prefer the later, along with a great cup of coffee with a tad of milk and honey.

  1. I have a simple Canon digital cam, and love it! I had a more expensive Panasonic before and it wasn't nearly as easy nor did it take the kind of pictures I take now. Not sure why you dislike Canon, but from this southern lady, I love mine! I too take pictures of any and everything that strikes my fancy. Hope you have a lovely day my new friend.

  2. Linda, I shall I get up put the coffee on and then take a multi vitamin have a slice of toast and briefly go over the the newspaper. I love it but I I have faired well with this camera right now.
The reason why I have a reluctance with Canons is I remember back in the 90's how they were with their printers as I had one and how many times I had to get refills for it but that was then. I will see how it goes. I love this camera that I have now but there are time I wish to get a zoom and yet not have any loss of quality as with mine when I zoom it all goes fuzzy. So we shall see. It all comes down to needs and wants.

Today will be a great one it's going to be hot and I love the heat but we shall see how it goes. Well your southern and the way I see it is that we all are human beings and I have always had this motto where it does not matter where you come from all that matters is in whom we are. A great day to you down there and I would bet you that we shall be around the same temperature today. But within three months this shall change.

All the best to you Linda!

  4. Heidi, we shall see. There are so many things to consider, I know I will probably just go back and wait and think it over still some more. We shall see.

  5. I switched from a Fuji to a Canon Powershot, but must say I also notice a big quality loss when I use the zoom. My Fuji also took a lot better pics on auto setting whereas I can never use auto on this one. I guess we just want better and better, that's just how we are lol..
    Enjoy your coffee Jack!

  7. Hi Mia and a great weekend to you. I have a tremendous non digital camera but I have to take it in to get it developed and I am not going to do that as I have not for the past three years. We shall see how today goes I think it's going to be visiting a two other stores here that specialize in this area and after I have all of it together I will come to a conclusion. I did see the Canon Powershot. I want a better zooming ability. If it wasn't for that, I am fine.

Thanks Mia and again thanks for the picture and I look forward to looking at your groups some more as well. Having me second and then I am off to take in a small swim and then off to a few stores. Thereafter pending the legs I may head out to this natural habitat place. We shall see.

We are in a Camera Era!

I have this little camera I wont say what it is as but I make the best with it and this may sound silly but I would miss it but I am sure that would change with a new one.
Have to run but all the best! Shall see you later !

Now it's time to go gas up - there is a need and a big cost these days !

:) A great day to you...

  12. Our SLR camera(s) were always Canon, and our first little digital (a gift from our son) was Canon, but since then, I have gone with Olympus, and am very happy with them.

    Have a great weekend. :-)

  13. I love early morning photos. I have 2 Canons, love them both, but my Rebel does have it's issues. Nikon is always a good bet! Have a great day.

  14. thanks, yes I've been under the weather so to speak- my own health challenges to deal with this year. But I feel better than ever now. Hope all goes well with you too. My guess is that the camera doesn't much matter if you know what you're doing, lol

  15. The morning life always seems softer than the afternoon light. Maybe that is the difference?! I have a Nikon Cool Pix S9. It is just a little point-and-shoot that fits nicely in my purse, so it is always with me. I'd be lost if I had to remember lenses and settings! I admire those of you who are great photographers and understand all that stuff!! Good luck with your procedure, coming up soon.

  16. The camera we use now is our third Canon. Just thought I'd add that. I forgot to take it with me today and so couldn't get the shot I wanted for PP.

I really appreciate the digital because development and printing were always so very expensive here.

30°F--that's a bit nippy! It was around 17° C here today. Have you had frost?

  18. Today Danni I looked at Canon's and Nikons. I really do like this one Nikon and we shall see - I love the movie feature and the LCD screen as well as the landscape and stabilization settings...and most of all the only reason I am looking into this is I wish to have a better pixel rate as well no loss with a zoom.

  19. Have a great day. Hope you find just the right camera..Might as well get the best one you can afford since it is something you enjoy doing so well taking pictures.
Mine is fine for what I use it for ..I'd get a more professional one but 2 kids in college and keeping up..priorities have to be in order.
I like my camera though and I take pictures as a hobby but also because I like to keep some cherished memories of watching the grandchildren grow..I so much wish I would have had a digital when my children were little! I just love digital. No film to keep developing and I can take as many pictures as my heart desires!

  20. We all are human and I have been there in my own moments but things always have the ability to change. Each person in life is different but that all said be you and know that your human. Here am I wish the frustration of a camera so there!
Things never stay nor will be the same they have a way of moving forward in each of our own ways.

And note your not alone in any manner. As all of us have emotions and we have our ups and downs within life. Such is life but render in your own way the best that you feel that can be. Really the camera can wait if need be. I will come back and see what I think in a few days. As it's not something that is a need, it's merely a desire.

Smiles are contagious I hope you know!

    Thoughts from an Eskimo! :)

  21. I saw that one and I like it Terri...
The procedure is two weeks away (looking for a calendar) I don't think about it much to be totally honest.
I am within that zone and the legs will give me problems this eve I am sure as always but I think past it.
The key I find is in keeping occupied - but I am not about to start going running, there are some things that
I have to have patience with but yet render the good things.

I thank you much as you very well know...

  22. DJ we shall see, I have went and got groceries, gas, and then went taking pictures and then I went looking for a camera. I will come back to it and I like the cool pix with the Nikon to be honest.
Yeah it's hot and then tomorrow it's back down to 15c. It's a very different time of year. We have not had any frost and that will not take place for at least 5 more weeks.
I think it's time for the farmer almanac! :)

  23. Cheryl, I have been browsing and I never buy something right away. I will wait a bit and go back one more time and we shall see where it all goes.
Mine is good enough but I wish to have that ability to have the zooming and something that is compact. So I know the one I like and the price seems
to be right but I believe in looking around and not just buying something until I have looked over things and come to a good enough conclusion.

For this time of year and all things considered it's a very good Saturday as well I took in a slight swim and well - it's all good. Except the price of gas! :)

  27. I'm not really understand about camera but what I know is I love to take pictures :) I have my first new simple canon digital camera two months ago and since then I love to get a nice shot.hahaha.. I'm also not a fans of canon but when I looked for information everyone said that canon is better, but actually mine's not as clear as I wish since it just a simple pocket camera. Nikkon is also good in camera as I heard from some of my friends that it's more clearly and sharp than canon (with same budget). It's all depend from us. I was late to read this journal but I saw some of your new pictures with your new camera and your camera is a very good one. Good result. So, get more nice shot, Jack! :)

  29. Silvia, I bought a new camera yesterday afternoon. And right now I work half time till October 5th. But I am testing this camera because I am used to a much smaller easier one from which to work with. It's a Nikon but I will be out testing with it again this afternoon and I am trying to see if I will keep it or return it. I just have to take some time before I make that decision and I am glad I have two weeks to do so. Then if I don't wish to have it, I can exchange or return it and get my money back so this is good.

If all works well, I hope I figure this all out today as it might be a little more professional that what I enjoy using. But we shall see. And today it's going back up to 30c. It shall be hot but the days now are getting shorter which makes for very nice evenings and mornings.

A good evening to you over there in Indonesia.
