Please do take the time to read this…we thrive on images, but I would hope that some still do read. It’s about democracy and the foundation of how we arrived to where we are.
In no manner would or do I wish to write something that would blemish some very good friends on here within United States. As I have lived on both sides of the coin if you will.
I moved away from politics a long time ago, and I do think before I write.
When Bush came into power there was no way that I was going to return into United States as he had tricked so many people – the government that is and I do have a few good offline friends that reside there that I do keep in contact with.
The history of these two lands goes way back in time. It does…
But the fact of the matter is that by way of protectionism United States will falter and my hopes are that the new majority within the US can see beyond things. Bush and his administration never did and to be honest with you United States does not need to adopt what Canada is, but the GOP definitely needs to get a grip with what the priorities are. I don’t think that only a president can do this, I think it takes the people in understanding other countries and then putting things into place.
Canada is and has been affected but at the same time Canada has several options on a military front as well as several other avenues. If American government again implodes, economically I truly have my concerns, as this may very well be the last time in which this agreement between two great nations is exasperated as it was during the Bush era.
This is not a write with regards to health care, it’s a write that for some reason so many within America have no clue as to what the government is doing. If protectionism and isolation come to be within only one country, you may just find that within the next two years things go have a further decline.
Within America history again with a new government as well as with a very new President may have a transition that goes further down rather than upwards. The micro and macroeconomics of all of this may not be one that is of concern to you but I can certainly say that this is a very important relationship in more ways than one between these two nations.
I have never seen so much propaganda happening in my life and this to me has never been the American way. Proud is one thing, but the ability to understand what can be is something that should especially at this time be taken into concern.
This is not a write in any form against the USA, I love it and I hope I really do hope that history again does not repeat itself. What shall unfold if not so? I think the test of time shall render that.
Is the United States too proud to look beyond it’s own country? Ironically most industrialized countries have looked beyond and gained in understanding other countries and what makes them tick. Perhaps this is the time for “we the people” to think beyond so that a country as such can maintain it’s stature in a globalized economy. It’s just a thought.
I am able to say this as I have lived and understood both countries very well and literally love these two both. What took place over the last eight years should not be utilized as an escape goat. As other nations have as well. When the continuation of a GOP stands so rigid, it does not build, it really does the opposite. And as much as many don’t wish to here this it’s actually something worth considering.
Proud is great, a government that can see beyond and work in concert with allies is paramount. Seemingly the Congress has a very tight hold on every measure since health care was introduced – however there are many other things to consider. This write is with regards to protectionism, the mission overseas, and most of all the economy.
What has changed? Better yet what can change? The avenue is an open door that we so often either doesn’t want to look at or anger is the result. This is truly about the rights and freedoms that we all once did know back some years ago. We can’t go back, but we can go forward. I don’t see this as being anything but my own thoughts from both sides of the border. I am more than receptive to YOUR thoughts as I am not a group, but I do feel that the people (yes the people) connected to me do have thoughts that are worthy.
Perhaps this may be a breach I feel that one can truly speak about anything in good taste as we are literally rebuilding our world as we speak…
My promise to you...is that each person has that very right regardless of what nation they come from. But one great super power is in the midst of a transition, my hopes are that something comes out of this and most of all in my own opinion we all have unity on a variety of levels between out GOP's in our countries.
I would appreciate but not force thoughts, but to me within this "ballgame" each blogging friend does count...I do mean that...
Sincerely,
Jack
I read political thoughts, but never comment on them. I don't believe friends and politics mix well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThis is not so much political Danni...
ReplyDeleteThere is always room for growth and unity regardless of where one resides!
ReplyDeleteArielle, I truly believe that this is more about growth and what we desire between these two nations. There is more history between these two that it's a positive area.
ReplyDeleteThese two countries are very unique.
I agree.
ReplyDeleteIt's saddens my heart that in the states we appear to be closing ourselves off more and more. Never thought would see the day I would need a passcard or passport to cross into Canada. It remains to be seen what unfolds in the near future .. but I think many are in process of being awakened here. Tx for the post.
ReplyDeletewe still hope
ReplyDeleteand I hope
that one day we could see ourselves as a members of one planet instead of different nations
we still dream
and I dream with a world with out frontier, and walls
I hope we could see not just one or tow nations but one world
one race, the human race.
sending love
Within America it in no means is over. But I do believe that these two countries do hold more symbolic, economic, and friendships than many countries.
ReplyDeleteWithin the America's we are awakening from both sides this border in which we have.
My hopes are that these two nations can continue the relationship that we have had for more than 200 years...Katya.
ReplyDeleteJack, I'm not into the political arena and comment very little on what I read. There is a lot that can be changed betweeen all countries I must say...but until all people have a change in attitudes, things will continue to go downhill.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when protection of our countries was nore important, but now its health care. The health care issue is almost like the people of Iran fighting in the streets for Freedom. As before, i try at best to stay outta the polical comments and as you stated in your post, we all have a right to agree/disagree with anothers views. This is just my view and we are still gonna be friends regardless.Thnaks for sharing your views.
peace
Parrie,
ReplyDeleteI do understand pertaining to health care, within this write this is anything but health care - I feel that within America it's something that should be done in a manner that is fitting for United States. This is more about the foundation of two allied countries. There is so much that we have in common and really when it comes down to it in years to come we could very well be one union.
But the freedoms and all that we have that is not political it's more of something in which we all are founded upon.
From one whom wishes to remain annoymous:
ReplyDeleteYour posting was thoughtful and enjoyed reading it. Also liked your pictures. Well, didn't look thru all. I love Canada as much as the U.S. .. well, maybe a little more really, but mainly I think that is because Canada still holds true & reminds me of how it use to be here in the states. In all my travels there, people have most always been friendly and welcoming. For so long it is like Canada and the states were united as one country.
True what you imply in your post that many are being mislead or maybe it's that many just bury their heads in the sand. I see the focus with many here that it is more about the individual or various groups as opposed to the whole. I bet I could go out on the street and ask people if they ever heard about the Patriot Act .. or Patriot Act II .. both done in Bush's time line .. and doubt many would know what I am talking about. My feeling is we enhanced our troubles here greatly with the invent of Homeland Security. We are getting more and more isolated.
Sadly I feel that this country does need a shake up to help people to see and turn it back around and oh my! The shake up has started big time. For sure the information is out there to know what is going on, but many are too consumed and too busy any more to look. Problem is that the world is so linked now that if the U.S. doesn't get it's act together .. it will effect way more than the U.S. Through chaos comes growth?
The government and the people here are out of control .. we are getting farther and farther away from unity in the U.S. itself .. let alone the world. We have lost touch with what this country was founded on. If it is that we have to crash and rebuild to learn I guess it is as it is. Not all are without awareness what is going on. Problem is? How do ya stop a runaway train?
You had on your page sometime I have said often to others. The golden rule .. do unto others as you would have them do unto you. With just that one rule and people following it .. it would make a difference for the world as a whole.
Sorry .. didn't mean to be wordy here .. but it is always refreshing when I read posts done with an awareness and some mindfulness. Most just want to complain and point fingers and will not own their own or take any responsibility for their own actions. Most are only concerned about their own issues to have their eyes open to the whole picture.
Have to add your page to my favs so can be connected with your postings or if could add ya that would be great!
We are no more polarized than in the 2000 election between Bush and Gore.
ReplyDeleteDisagreement is healthy.
A variance on viewpoints certainly is Cath...
ReplyDeleteEvery answer is a bad answer, Jack.
ReplyDeleteWe are too deep in the pooh... pool, I meant.
According to the US Census Bureau, Washington DC has one of the two highest poverty rates in the nation. What does this say about our leaders ability to tax us..er, lead us, out of this mess?
Byron, Canada is no perfection either but how I feel is that we can move along and things can improve. I don't think any country by any means is perfect but where there is a will there is always a way.
ReplyDeleteBut for this camper I have to get to bed. Best of wishes.
to a point and only to a point when it goes bejond that point it becomes self distructive
ReplyDeleteEventhough I don't really understand about what's going on there in US and Canada, but I wish the best for both. Hopes everything work out and give the best for the people.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to hide. I'll state my opinion just as I always do, whether or not anyone agrees with it.
ReplyDeleteLargely, at least among the relatively uneducated, people bought into the demonization of other countries. Insults are throw at everyone and everything not associated with "mainstream patriotic" United States and use deroggatory names for them from Commie Pinko Fags to Niggers, Wetbacks, WOPs, and even Cannuks. Some politicians have played on this and used it to stir support for them as candidates.
Silvia,
ReplyDeleteI understood this as you are not from either Canada or United States. These last two writes were done as the leader or Canada and the leader of the United States had a meetings one which took place yesterday as a dual citizen of both countries I wished to write on this area as I don't often get into these kinds of writings or I have not in some time but I embrace people from all over - however this was with regards to the relationship currently between these two countries.
By the way, I have to say that your writing on friendships was incredible.
No one said you need to hide Cal...
ReplyDeleteIf you feel that way why make the comment it's a contradiction...
