The theme this week within Picture Perfect is
~ Urban ~
This is a picture I took while I lived last year in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Picture is below...
I have been and lived in several cities and what I have found is that most folk wish to get away from the city. I have found that in New York, Edmonton, Calgary nearly every city that I have lived within. Urbanization is something that does have it's pros as well as cons as you are able to get much more interesting pictures from a variety of places! The cons well I think many know what those are on this side of the oceans as far as crime and so forth.
This is my submission, it's one year since I took this picture and where I live now is a city that is merely 200,000 in population and has always been looked upon as having the best of both worlds as it has the flavours that come along with being a city while at the same time having a charm of a small town which I find is very unique.
I used my camera and looked to get the reflection of the city in the middle of a conservatory.
lovely indeed. I love the angle

I had a great time in Edmonton over a decade ago. The West Edmonton Mall was the most fascinating place I'd ever seen. And the fact that I could travel all over downtown without ever stepping foot outside was something I had never experienced before.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. Love the angle.

ReplyDeletei have nothing yet
not much to see but marina around here maybe i find something on my flicker
I love you angle
Yes but it's on hold right now economically - Edmonton that is Heidi, much like Detroit in United States as it's primary resource was Oil.
ReplyDeleteWhile living there for the second time I found that it was moving so fast due to the demand for oil, much unlike here or Calgary, Alberta.
Neat literally I in my youth was the marketing manager of what is abbreviated as WEM. It's a small world.
ReplyDeleteAs with the rest I just arrived online and am coming over and taking a look.
Hi Mimi! Merci and I am coming to look at yours you are always doing something very creative to say the least!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Jack. I love the cloud perched on top of the conservatory! Well done.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: http://zorra5.multiply.com/journal/item/269/Picture_Perfect_-_Urban
I just arrived online and Katya, I went into my flicker as I have cover so much ground in where I live now. I moved to this city back six months ago and that picture that I have shown you is my own within Edmonton, it's five hours from here.
ReplyDeleteTake your time and if you can so be it. If you can't then the next theme as I have not posted to PP in the last two weeks I believe, but I think it's a very worthy thing. I love it when Heather is coming up with ideas that are so very creative.
Harriet coming on down as it used to be said on the "Price is Right" :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and yes this conservatory now has had a restoration but I don't live there any longer.
However I am most interested to see what you have placed on...
Jack - like I said in the blog .... I took the photo from the small Cessna airplane in which we were flying. :-)

Super shot Jack, the angle is working well here!
ReplyDeleteThere is something to be said with regards to small towns...and you have a great shot there of Sydney.
ReplyDeleteI live in a city not too big nor too small...but there are many very nice small towns that surround it.
Very nice picture you have there.
Hi Mia, thanks much...this picture was taken back one year ago.
ReplyDeleteI recognise the architecture. It's the same style as the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Reminds me of the warning about glass houses.
ReplyDeleteYou did great with it. Nice choice.
