There was a question from a friend as to if "Notes" would be replacing the essences of the writes.
In my own point of view I see this as an accent to what we write. I know I have used them but I think we all are getting used to this and some will and some won't I can honestly say that they have been very helpful in getting on this and having a few answer done. But getting back to what I feel. I see these notes here as kind of like the icing on the cake. For within each of our writes in my own humble opinion I do see them as not the blog itself but as something that is a secondary.
~ Why not ~
Hi! here's my take on notes. Were you/ are you a Yahoo 360 blogger? Notes here reminds me of the "blast message" in Y360. When I post in notes...it has nuttin' ta do with my blog...just a quickie thought...a quote.....a funny...whatever......but a brief something and not necessarily comprehensible.rofl
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
also a little like on Facebook short sweet funny seriouse but nice to have and after all all writing is worthwhile even if it is short and sweet-
ReplyDeleteLooks around trying to find that friend who asked...LOL
ReplyDeleteI dont use Notes. To each his own. I didnt use the blast on 360 either. Again....I am the oddball...lol
ReplyDeleteNotes in Multiply is now used to replace what we used to have the option of when posting. Remember when we used to post, on the bottom of each posting page there was an option of posting to "everybody", just your contacts, or to post only to your home page or blog without any notification. Well notes works similiar to that. When you post a Note, it goes to those that are in your network. If you have your network set up (on the top of your inbox) to be just your contacts, then when you post a note, it goes only to your personal contacts, and appears in their inbox under the NOTES category. This way you know that these NOTES are not blogs, but communications from your contacts, to theirs. They are not open to the general membership of Multiply like a blog post is, nor are they limited to just the people you direct them to as with a personal message. They just are a quick way to send All your contacts a NOTE at one time without having to add each of their screen names into a PM separately, or great a group of just your contacts. It's a wonderful feature and for those of us that like to send PM's to several people at a time, and not have the information shared with everyone, or posted on a public blog/home page, this NOTES feature works great!
ReplyDeleteRemember that if your home page is a public one, (which most are), then whatever you post on there is open to be read by any member of Multiply, as well as friends of friends, contacts of contacts, etc. Notes are restricted to jsut those that are in your contacts listing, and PM's are restricted to just those that you choose to send a Personal message to. Otherwise what is posted is open to all to see and respond to, unless you set your home page up so that it's not.
Hope this helps to explain some of this. I am seeing many people simply using notes to correspond with their contacts, which are family and close friends, rather than posting blogs. It is up to each person as to how they choose to use their Multiply account, however, remember if you are posting Notes, and want to open your home page and your writing to others to review and comment on, Notes are only getting to those on your contact listing!
Have a great day.. and enjoy!! :)
I've started to use the notes for a quick thought, quote or goodnight. Some might be serious , some funny. It's a way to express a little something apart from the blog..
ReplyDeleteI made fun of the quick note at first now I am enjoying it.
There are 3 Options, be sure to choose the one you want:
