Three generations back from both sides of my family were at Normandy. Which is still alive today's date but which is within his late 80's now, and I recall him talking about - and then as he aged he tended to not wish to talk about anything within the war. There were many men that paid the price in Normandy on this very day. How we are starting to forget these older wars. The ones of the past as we have so much going on right now. But yet I hope we don't forget.

ReplyDeleteThanks for this post Jack. We must never forget this battle and so many others. It is the only way to keep the sacrifcies of so many alive--and the horror of it as well.
