This was written some time ago and there was such an abundance of people from all over the world. I don’t know where she is today, but I do know that she went on to teach. And during these times in which we see so much going on in Tehran, I thought that I would place this old write on. There was a time my first camera went and she and so many others were very kind. And I wrote on here after a period of time. I guess you would call it respect.

I have had many pictures sent to me from Shady it's almost as if I know her from her camera. She is a very nice person from Iran. She has a very nice manner in which she has written from time to time. The only problem English is her third language.
So I am placing in this dedication of two poems for her.
She is like anyone. Shady is many things. Most of all she is. She is a very well educated person. She is a compassionate person that desires everything that any woman would wish. I can’t speak for her but I am going to write something in dedication to her. As she has sent me pictures from her country to go along with some of my own writings when I never requested it. Shady is of value. And this is a real picture of her, but I never received any writing from her so I wished to dedicate something to her.
I hope that it is of some value to her.
~The Dream Within My Eyes ~
Why strike the lyre on fancy's veil in vain?
Why play the solo lonely and wane?
Why like the blind bat in the silent cave drone?
Why shut the eye to the morning's brilliant sun?
Why under the snow like partridge hide the head?
Why befriend the old and ugly crow in the mead?
Why deprive from the long moving wave of ambition?
Why evaporate like the bubble in the ocean?
Why tie our happiness to gnawing greed with rope?
Why forever enslave in the snare of carnal hope?
Why stay away from eternal vernal garden of love?
Why fear to cast the seeds of friendship in the grove?
O you who have seen the autumnal gale of the age,
Why eager to bind yourself to this worldly cage?
Why proudly drink wine in the cold plain of mistrust,
And avoid the fond cub-bearer who quenches the thirst?
A garden of rose buds from love's misty rain,
Why dwell with the bramble in the arid plain?
Many will not touch this due to the circumstances of the Middle East however the society of people there are not that much different than you or I. When we think of things in terms of righteous....I think that as a society we may have become poised, with other cultures at this time. But it's not the people as much as it's the governments. The merits of this post of a while ago was something that was universal.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what is taking place in the Middle East, and it's not about where someone is from - it's more about whom they are.
Why Not...
To bad so many turn a blind eye or have such hate for the Middle East-
ReplyDeleteI just got of another Msite and told someone that their unmitigated hate is sick
this is so lovely
thank you for sharing
reminds me of the old ballad "Blowin in the Wind" ..... when will we ever learn???
ReplyDeleteHeidi just my thoughts and at this time I am bring about some of my thoughts as I feel. She is not a fictional character in any stretch of the imagination and I thought it had some worth.
ReplyDeleteI think some do and some never will Karyn, it's an ideal that people will accept people for whom they are not what they are.
ReplyDeleteGOOD JOB AND SO INTERESTING !
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sonnet, or close to one, and it is so appropriate to what the Brave Spirits of Freedom over there are facing in the wake of the petrified political hierarchy. I hope she is safe and will live to see calmer days in her country.
ReplyDeleteMmmm , I can almost hear the music.
ReplyDeleteI ache for the protesters in all the bloody streets- seems like such a lopsided battle.
I pray victory for them
Glad you liked as she is not fabricated and what I mentioned is really what I do believe.
ReplyDeleteDoug it is but I think that they will settle it out for themselves and my hopes are that as in each country there is internal strife that happens - if we even look at our own history there is much that did take place in our history as well as within the now. We shall be calm and grow and so will they. The people of this country are great people. I think since 9/11 we most have pondered away from these people yet they are not much different than you or I. The society that is.
ReplyDeleteEvery country has made mistakes by way of governments in history and people pay the price - I don't know of any country right now that has not felt the burden of internal problems.
ReplyDeleteMy hopes are for a peaceful end that grants the society a new era without the bloodshed we have seen take place in other parts of the middle east.
Thanks seester.
