Apparently Whitney Houston died this evening. The root of the root of the cause has yet to be known. This is really a pity as one year ago she came out with a new CD with the help of Oprah W. This is sad new as at 8:30. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/02/11/whitney-houston-dies.html

  3. Hi Doug, it caught me off guard while I came back online here. One would tend to think that more than likely
it was another MJ situation but I am not going to draw any conclusions.

  4. Not good as Summer I thought she was just making a new imprint as she could sing and with
a period she literally had many of us dancing and a voice which was impeccable.

  5. Life is precious and there are those which we have listened to and dance to during
earlier years - this comes as a day which again we see a repeat of celebrities that
have lost their lives do to unnessary means.

  9. Read it on Yahoo news.Very sad.......

With her history of drug abuse,I have to admit I'm not really that surprised.
It's a shame, because at the peak of her career her voice was amazingly clear and powerful.

  11. Early in her career she really had the world by the tail but then the drugs and alcohol got her by the tail. Too bad. A beautiful lady.

  12. Very sad to hear she died. She had a beautiful voice and I loved it when she sang "I will love you". Yup drugs did her in I am sure and so young!

  14. This afternoon I was just talking to a friend about this celebs and how so many are for
what ever reasons taken to vices as such Rodney.

  15. Marty yeah....Mariah Carey came to the scene as so many thought it was Whitney.
I would suppose it's self inflicted wonds. I recall, "I wanna dance with somebody."

  16. She had or was just in the midst of a comeback yet it's sad that these things do
    happen.

  17. One TV site said she had sold over 170 million, awards so numerous, and this, a day before the Grammy's?

I sometimes wished she had not fallen into Bobby Brown's way of living, a bit more reckless than she possibly should have lived....and even that so far back...whatever it was that took her, it took a strong talent from us, even if it's name is 'natural causes'

  18. More than likely and unfortunately probably not Curtis. Bobby Brown was a lost cause in many
ways. I chalk this up to "C'est la vie" as what more can be said for a tremendous entertainer. I had
went to her official site and whom ever is handling it has yet to update it as it has not been updated.

There is nothing natural about placing into your system vices which destroy you. That echoes
    with this unfortunate news.

  19. Seems so Jack. That's my feeling unfortunately.

  20. I wish to mention that I have to turn this laptop off and then on as it's slow.
But I really feel that by now there have been enough examples of
cases just as this one and if only there was a manner in which
aid and assistance could come as more than often there is
an underlying factor. May she RIP.

  21. Forty-eight is far too young. Apparently she had trouble with drugs and alcohol.
Very sad for her fans and her loved ones.

  22. You were my 'breaking news service' this Sunday morning Jack. It's very sad when talented individuals lose their way... and I feel this is what happened to Whitney nearly a decade ago. Like with Michael Jackson, you'd think there'd be someone who could advise and turn them around... but it doesn't appear to be the case

  23. Such a loss of beautiful music, an incomparable voice. A loss, and so sad that addictions destroyed the life she shared with her fans. She was on the path to return, looking forward to the new film, too.

  24. very sad loss....but I must admit I was not surprised......just sad.

  25. So sad, and many musicians fall into that "drug trap".

  26. She was so unhappy although the fame.....she's in peace, at last. I was astonished when I read about her death, but in her interviews I observed that she had sad eyes....RIP Whitney.

  27. Ian, I feel much the same. I grew up to her music and one I clarified by as a friend had posted it then I just at the same time and ensure that within the five minutes from it being announced that it was the truth and today I went about doing other things - yet that is not to say that she was an imprint. Yet you would think that after the MJ
situation that there would be some manner which by way of their family or friends - they could have intervention.

Yet we don't know what goes on within the lives of people in or not within stardom. Yet it's a pity and through the day it's amazing how it does hang over the day. This seems to be a huge domestic situation that holds no barriers to ones economic status.

  28. Erika yeah, I am not into all these reality shows on this area but as Ian said, it was well known the situation back really when she and Bobby Brown got hitched. I wonder how her daughter is?

  29. ......of talent as she was tremendous Vicky.

  30. Grammy it's another Micheal Jackson, Mel Gibson, Elvis Presley .....the list goes on and I refer to it as self inflicted wounds - yet really there must have been an underlying factor.

  31. Ditto here Pamela. It was obvious back years ago when she did a Barbara Walters Interview.

  32. Theresa a good amount do and unfortunately I would surmise that it's near 50 percent but there are
many that are either forced or do take the necessary actions. As there are some which have.
Stevie Nicks got off cocaine and was then placed on two medical narcotics. She is one that
entered into the hospital and got off everything. She has a website which she wrote about
her triumph over all kinds of drugs. Some do and unfortunately Whitney whom was raised
within a very tight religious family ended up this way.

I would wager that there are over 10 million writes in tribute to Whitney as well as right now
    the Grammy's are on.

  33. Elaine you posted it, I then did a quick verification. As I don't believe everything I here on the net, but after leaving our page, I then did my own kind of fact check. Yet she is within a better place now. But much too young.
    RIP Whitney.
