This morning the city was rather dull with the temperatures the way they were.
I had some things that where necessary to do and then there has always been this one place that says "Studio".
Now I thought that I was walking into some small music studio and what it ended up being was this small art studio. Low and behold it was interesting to talk to this artist, which has done his craft for years.
I have found that most artist, are ones that are very intellectual but this was rather simple. But the hobbies that people do. There is something to be said for that. He took some time to go further in what he does and it was interesting. So I decided to take a short video as I had my camera in my jacket and I love art yet this was a surprise to see this small place and it was anything but what I had expected.
Everyone has some form of hobby and it’s very interesting when you have that time to gain an understanding of what and why people such as this gentleman does his craft. Metal – I have never seen things done by way of working with metal within this form. Yet it was a nice excursion within the morning portion of the day.
Even within the coldest of cold seemingly things never do stop. And this was short yet it was interesting.
I like his work. My daughter is a metal smyth and I go to gallery shows all the time. Some of her friends have some interesting work. I live in the world of artists so this is something nice and familiar to me.
ReplyDeleteI have never Sharon. I have seen this place so many times but it never has been open and then it was something that was neat. I have never done art like this, but I certainly can appreciate what artists do.
ReplyDeleteart is universal :)
ReplyDeletewish I could be an artist, but I don't think I could survive off of it
I have even taken the sawed off ends of 2x4's and craved them. One I did of the scene that use to be out my bedroom window as a kid. There was a light house across the channel from me. That was my night light. I carved it into the block of 2x4 and painted it. I should take a picture of it and post it sometime.
ReplyDeleteNot many can Suzy. But I think that most have it as a hobby and seemingly
ReplyDeletethey have much pleasure with it all.
I used to paint as a kid but my aspirations were more within Aikido and music. But I do admire these people, the ones that can do things as such.
ReplyDeleteAs I certainly never did this nor have and it was interesting. Especially as we were coming out of the coldest three days within this year.
It's weird I have always created. Whether I was painting, drawing, sculpting or mixing the various art modes I have felt at peace. The same with my writing and when I was singing. I think I am completely right brained. To me everything is an art form. My daughter is the same way. To us it is better to make something with our own hands then to buy it. It has character and a story behind it when we have created it.
ReplyDeleteArt is that form of expression...
ReplyDeleteI like to paint and draw. I haven't always done so but I like being creative and having fun with it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the artist would like my clay creation Maasaw?
Erika I don't know I never met the person before in my life yet he seemed to be decent.
ReplyDeleteThis was not a large place yet what is Maasaw?
Tis so wonderful that some people can express themselves with their creativity, giving themselves and others joy.
ReplyDeleteall I can say is...
ReplyDeleteartprevails
... we could see how his mind works in every metal works he created. The same with us. In every lyrics, each poems, in a piece of painting or drawings a part of us goes there.
ReplyDeleteAnd for me, it is re-discovering oneself.
We are what I call, "An artzy craftzy family" - lol. We dabble in several of the art crafts. Its nice that that man has found something he has fun doing. Everyone needs several of those things.
ReplyDeleteHa! Yeah it does we all are artist within our own way Melody and your nickname says it all :)
ReplyDeleteSummers it is there are those creative things...
ReplyDeleteYep and so it is. Art is really an extention of sorts.
ReplyDeleteYep, mind you my art is managing these teeth till tomorrow! OUCH. So I shall paint with a tooth brush for now!
ReplyDeleteThat was cool, sounds like he enjoys doing his artwork.
