This morning was something. Just sitting in the morning and just chilling and using this laptop of mine. If there is one thing is that I have done is that I hoard when it comes to computers and all the books that I have read over the years. Was a kind of cloudy day and I headed out to go do some shopping and then took my father to the place that he loves to go - which is Time Hortons donuts. I thought it would be a good time to just get him out as there is not too much snow and it's been rather warm. So we got in there or maybe I should say we squeezed in there and got a seat and yeah I took my one small camera along with me as I thought there might be something interesting. What I found was that most everyone that has been born here and has lived here for most of there lives are all dressed up in green as up here we have what is called the CFL, and Saskatchewan it playing against Quebec and this will be the first time that Saskatchewan made it too the Grey Cup only three times and the last time was in 2007. This final game will be played tomorrow in Edmonton Alberta. But there is this thing called, "Rider Pride" and even within the mornings newspaper the head line of the from page was, "Go Riders Go".
I have only been to one game but there is something about these fans and how they really do get dressed up for it and all across the western provinces most everyone right now will be glued to the Television, Computers, and some are right now either flying or driving to Edmonton where it shall take place tomorrow.
I can't say that I was wearing green, but it would be nice if we took home the Grey Cup. Aside for this had a great visit with a few people within the Tim's. And aside of this still to this day one has to ask permission to take any pictures whatsoever seemingly within public places.

is good to know that your dad is well enough to go out and enjoy the day----and that everyone was wearing green gives a nice sense of home town--of unity---a sense of belonging----you are feeling better now amigo?
ReplyDeleteYeah very much so I literally have nothing to complain about. I find that the only things that is rather different is going from on computer to another but aside from that all things are going very well. As it's all apart of this plan and I am following it to a tee. So the weekend is here and it's great to just enjoy things and each day I raised the bar with all that I am doing. He is doing just fine and on a Saturday it was good to get him out and I talked with some folks on the right side while he talked with others from the other side.
ReplyDeleteSo this was good yet I enjoy my own time. And I think now is the bench mark of nearly two weeks. So all in all si it's good.
Glad your dad is doing fine and he is able to go out and breathe some fresh air. And that you are very consistent in making him feel well loved. Your mom and dad must have raised you so well. Not all can do that. tight hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI am out ever day literally with walking and this coming week I am going to start to run regardless of the weather.
ReplyDeleteWe all were raised within our own manners. But I am just literally just doing things as I deem and have been told
is fitting by way of all the appointments from Monday through Wednesday.
So it's all within a enjoyable flow.
Good news about your dad. It's those little things that I'm sure he misses the most--it was that way with my mom.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who waited over 40 years to see my team in the Winners Circle in baseball, I wish all success to those in Green. Go Riders!
Computer museum?
ReplyDeleteYeah it's something Doug as most of the players are from the states and man I am just on this laptop and from yesterday to today everyone is on this go riders thing. They shall be freezing and while in this donut shop yesterday more than half the place was people all dressed in green, I am not sure what the temperature is within Edmonton today but so shall be watching this game today - as it's really western canada against the east - but all within good sport.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean DJ?
ReplyDeletenothing like enjoying a nice cup of coffee and sweet with your parent. I love sitting and talking to my mom over coffee, she lives in another State so the opportunity is rare.
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela, it's good at the same time it's good to have that time to oneself as well - I find. As before I was seeing them much too often and it can be a drain to entirely honest.
ReplyDeleteSaskatchewan it winning thus far!

ReplyDeleteYour competition sounds a lot like when Minnesota's Vikings and Wisconsin's Green Bay Packers play against each other!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice time out. My grandfather and his brother would get together nearly every day, go to the local bakery/cafe, then out to the bowling alley to watch games. Grandpa used to be a fantastic bowler, Grandma, too, but his knees wouldn't allow him to bowl anymore. The more an elderly person can't get about on their own, the more it means to them to be out once in a while.
Well we lost! Right at the very end, but so be it Faye as it's all within the game. But it was a good game, within that last five minutes Quebec made a touchdown and
ReplyDeletewell Saskatchewan lost. But so be it. Talked with my brother on the phone and it's fun how one can get all caught up in a game but this was like the superbowl here
and when we ever get into the finals then this thing called the Rider Pride really comes alive within Western Canada.
As people age the adapt, today while I sat and there came a lady from the condos that surround this one mall and she went on to say that she has to get out.
Ironically I could relate and thereafter I was out taking my own walk afterwards. It is something with how one can't be able to get around an an older age but I find
that there is something that they still have a manner in which they thrive. Perhaps it's the simple things.
I was at a Tim Horton's earlier this year in Canada and did not ask permission to take pictures. Didn't get kicked out either.
ReplyDeleteWell this happened here in this case and the request was not to take pictures of the people. But prior to this I would go and talk with management within a variety of areas which include the University here, and a few other places and in this case it happened but so be it.
ReplyDelete"I hoard when it comes to computers"
ReplyDeleteDoesn't this mean you have a certain number of old computers hanging around?
I kept all the computers I have had since starting on them and have them placed away.
ReplyDeleteAnd how long has that been?
ReplyDeletePrior to a medical situation.
