While approaching August’s Conclusion

I went downtown this morning as I wanted to see what was going on here with this festive traditional celebration was taking place amongst the Ukrainian cultural center. There were several people all out most were Ukraine I guess but it was open to all. Come tomorrow and as well later on today I am sure that this will be huge as within this province the origins of what originally made it up were a mix of English, Scottish, Ukrainians, and Germans. I ran into this one person that was dressed in some sort of traditional attire. He spoke so fast and with a little bit of an accent but I could be corrected but he was wearing the traditional wardrobe of what I would see as being that of a Cossack attire that would go back a few centuries but still I really don’t know. There was this mass taking place just to commence the beginning of these festivities. There after I have always wanted to get a summer view the river, which would include the Bessborough Hotel, so I was fortunate to be able to talk with the Radisson Hotel manager and get to the very top suite within the building, not the rooftop but within this case by way of the presidential suite. Still, I am been looking up and pondering what this one man symbolized. I have look within many areas and think he is a Cossack, but something does tell me otherwise.
While I was within this suite at the Radisson the manager took me over to another room that which was already vacated. And I took a picture from the 18th floor of the other west. And I was able to get what is called the Broadway Bridge as well as the Victoria Bridge. The Victoria bridge which is which is all black, was originally built within the 1800’s. Two years ago the city closed the bridge down for six months as it was deemed unsafe and then they placed in 2 million dollars in preventative maintenance work, which has lasted till recently. The city was going recently is at odds with the people of the city as they wish to tear it down, as it’s has a historical value. So it’s an a situation that will that will be tabled within city hall – however I think that the people will get what they wish as those that are elected into these positions do were voted into office by the people of the city and rather than having there own agenda they will have to consider the cost. Perhaps it’s a case of retaining the old and in some manner building on to this one last historical bridge with something that is new. However it shall be costly never the less. If a the university here can retain and as well build on new buildings by way of federal, provincial monies combined with some that have contributed by way of fundraisers I feel that this can apply within the city as well. As they have a reserve as well as a surplus of monies that have been there in place for the past twenty years.

Back to this one Ukrainian gent that was all dressed up within ancient historical Ukrainian attire I think he was a Cossack yet something tells me he might very well be something else. I am not sure, as I never really looked into the historical areas of Ukrainians.

  7. It's one of many hotels that were built in the 1800's by the CN Railway system. I wished to get a picture of it as it's truly makes this city. Really does make for a great landscape within the city.

  13. If anyone knows the culture and history of the Ukraine I would really wish to know if indeed this is a Cossack. I feel that this man was dressed in attire that was a protectorate of some sort.

  15. That's just great. I remember seeing a similar hotel in downtown Vancouver a while back. But this one is even more striking given all all by itself. Your dad must have had a great view from his office.

  16. These wonderful birds are a familiar group in my neck of the woods. They usually land down by a local golf course and make themselves at home.

  17. These type of hotels span right across Canada Doug, as they were created right after WW2, and despite they were made by Japanese by way of the Canadian Railway they all are grand. From one shore to to another here there is one in every major city within Canada. The office was one that was tremendous it was his own place and he literally loved where he had placed it as he was always flirting with the women in a manner that was just merely a flirt how often I would go from my office and visit him and there would be either several people at his board room just talking about several things. And if not he was down within the restaurant. To this day he is always remembered there is the same secretary that was there some many years ago and ironically he was seen as being a Canadian sort of witty Frank Sinatra....I kid you not. But when he got on the horn, he was calling all over the place and keeping up with things as he always enjoyed people as well as those that he had know for years. But that was then and this is now. However the building I recall taking during the winter of last year and it this is the contrast:

  18. It's rather symbolic how this migration takes place between the two lands as they fly without borders.

  20. Hi Tina, yeah to be honest, when I returned back here some ten years ago, it was such a change for me as I was used to being around such a different diversity of culture. The irish, italians, and all. My best friend is Scottish and Ukrainian. But back when I did return I really felt ten years ago I was in Russia, as it was predominantly all Ukrainians - not to say there is anything wrong with this, however now it's a city that is rich with so many cultures it's ironic how within one decade how things can change so much. Still for the life of me, this man was right from the Ukraine and when I was talking to him, oh man it was hard to understand him, so I figured it would be easy to see what this attire was as it represented something that he had told me. Thank god I never placed on the video as it literally would have many laughing as for the life of me I couldn't understand the man. I wish I had more time to find out whom was the representative of this as then I would have know!

    Whoopila :)

  22. We all are living within this land, I am sure you remember Deb, "This land is your land this land is my land" ironically there are two versions one is American and the other is Canadian but they really mean the same thing.

This is why I love this song that has a universal message called "One Love"...

  23. Hello!

Do You like it the music ?

    Have a wonderful new week!
    It's a my song, I'm the songwriter!

    Üdv: László

    Here is the english songtext!

    CHILLY WINDS (HIDEG SZÉL)

Chilly winds are rustling on my door
There's a twilight in my room.
An old song is playing from Adamo,
    Saying farwell to you.

Remembrance of the good old days
    Already has gone away,
    I'm in pain of delusion,
But I'm still in love with you.

After all these hours have gone away
    Rememberances fly away
I don't want you to love any more, still
    Have been waiting for you.

Chilly winds are rustling on my door
There's a twilight in my room.
An old song is playing from Adamo,
    Saying farwell to you.
