A Speech that was Short

Yet it had a promise announced as stated and planned.

There will always be division within certain areas. I truly have always believed within the freedom of speech. Everyone has that manner in which they can write what they feel but at the same time with consideration to some extent with others. When I arrived home, the television was on as I usually have it going and I al thought this address by President Obama was short, I remember when he first went into office and I found it to be a tremendous time of hope. We are within an era within history where there is that need of hope. Hope goes a long ways and Obama, I never thought would become President. Regardless of whom is within office, there is much that a leader has to do and I literally was inspired by him for two years before he came into office. I found what what he spoke of brought back a dream that many were in need of. Certainly, I think that he has fallen within the polls and at times I feel it's pity when a man that has good intentions as well as his wife whom really does have an influence on him I feel that he is a very symbolic figure. Obviously, I am up here in Canada, but I believe within the American dream. I believe that we all have our own areas that we love to write on and while eating supper to see this speech several things did come to mind. However, I thought three times before I even considered to write anything pertaining to his address but if we step back and look at where things are within our own societies we do want the best to take place. We do wish for the good things. Perhaps the American dream is awakening while there is so many that are angry with how the economy is. But there are good things that are happening and I do enjoy the good news. One leader can't change the world however President Obama I do think has inspired more people outside of the United States right now. I am not sure why that is but America is a country that has influenced the world, and along with that within all good things it takes time for things to change. We all have our own lives, we all try to do the best of things.

For myself I feel that Obama is a man that has awakened the spirit of many. I don't know any leader right now within the globe that compares to what this man represents. The words of hope, change - we all know all that he had spoken and many felt that he wavered on his promise.  No person is perfect not even a leader. So often they are loved and hated but that goes with the territory. However the message that he is bring troops back, I feel it's a good step.

I myself feel this was a very good day and there is the reality that there is still much that he needs to do but again there is not one perfect person that can fix all things within a fast time. But I believe he is trying and doing the best that one can. However what a leader decides does effect and impact our society. But as mentioned earlier, there could be any other leader within the oval office and he or she would have the very same things from which to tend with. I am not adamant with what I believe in, I just enjoy reading and writing on certain things that do effect people at large. And that being said I never wish to push nor sway others beliefs, I just enjoy to write my own thoughts on a person whom seem to me to be one with great merit. That's pretty much it and nothing more. So this too is fun, as it's interesting yet something that does concern many, as well it does concern me as what happens within America influences the rest of the world. People most often are resistant to change, sometimes change is a good thing but there is much to take into consider before making decisions within these times. However that all said it's the first of September and the we all have our very needs and wants and sometimes I find that we tend to forget the merits of what another is doing and we judge them based on several factors. If we forget about the president and look at all the areas that need to be fixed - that illustrates all that is at hand.

Regardless welcome to the 1st day within September.

Peace,

Jack

  1. I am pretty confident that your own confidence in Obama is misplaced and not shared by the majority of the people in the nation. I myself believe that the uneducated and naive in this nation, the ones that elected Obama, because like you, they had "Hope" (BTW, I don't need anyone to provide me hope, I can muster that without a charlatan at the controls), are starting to wake up. More and more people realize that socialism is not the way to go (I could have told them THAT). More and more people are starting to realize that an inexperienced snake oils salesman from Chicago is not the person to "lead" the nation. More and more people are getting sick of him shoving through programs that nobody wants and are ineffective. If he deigns to run again I think he is in for a shock on election day. I say that it is time to acknowledge that the experiment is over, and let's get back to something resembling our nation.

  2. Let us all hope that this time around he would succeed. America has got so many problems with their unemployment and other much greater things that any President would find a hard time picking up the pieces. I firmly believed Mr. Obama has the qualities and he has the mind of a humane yet tough in a way but, as I said the problem was there already, and it's a herculian tasks for anyone to get back at its feet ... let us rally behind him ...

Godbless the world ... and may Love reign in everyone's hearts :)

  3. I find it honorable that you believe he has the qualities, I just fail to see what you and others that support him, base that belief upon. It certainly isn't his record of success.

  4. Yes the polls indicate this however I deemed it right as you it was up to you to write to this. You have your areas of confidence and I respect them entirely. As an America/Canadian I do hope that America does get back to resembling a nation of confidence and good influence. Thank you for your comments.

  5. Hope is all that everyone is wishing for and last night as short as it was was a one day within 365 days. I look forward to the return back of troops and he made that promise and seems to me he has lived up to this. Time does tell all Maritess.

  6. Is anyone truly happy with whoever is in office? there will always be some who will be disgruntled... Seems as tho people expect one man to fix the problems that have been around for awhile... No man in office can work miracles... The ones complaining should be taking a look at themselves... It takes even the common person to help solve the issues. My question to the complainers " can u do better if u were in office??"

  7. I certainly couldn't and Chrissy you have just really summed up what this write here that I did with regards to it all. So it's I think all that is given to this man one should really consider all that he has at hand as I don't think that anyone would be handling it any better. This was a time in office that many opted out to not run for presidency for the very reason that there was so much at hand. There is a silent majority that are truly upset, I can understand that but when we know the root of the problems then we can fix them. It's not in creating more havoc as I think there has been enough over the last ten years.

  8. Email I recieved today:

    John --

Tonight marks the end of the American combat mission in Iraq.

As a candidate for this office, I pledged to end this war responsibly. And, as President, that is what I am doing.

Since I became Commander-in-Chief, we've brought home nearly 100,000 U.S. troops. We've closed or turned over to Iraq hundreds of our bases.

As Operation Iraqi Freedom ends, our commitment to a sovereign, stable, and self-reliant Iraq continues. Under Operation New Dawn, a transitional force of U.S. troops will remain to advise and assist Iraqi forces, protect our civilians on the ground, and pursue targeted counterterrorism efforts.

By the end of next year, consistent with our agreement with the Iraqi government, these men and women, too, will come home.

Ending this war is not only in Iraq's interest -- it is in our own. Our nation has paid a huge price to put Iraq's future in the hands of its people. We have sent our men and women in uniform to make enormous sacrifices. We have spent vast resources abroad in the face of several years of recession at home.

We have met our responsibility through the courage and resolve of our women and men in uniform.

In seven years, they confronted a mission as challenging and as complex as any our military has ever been asked to face.

Nearly 1.5 million Americans put their lives on the line. Many returned for multiple tours of duty, far from their loved ones who bore a heroic burden of their own. And most painfully, more than 4,400 Americans have given their lives, fighting for people they never knew, for values that have defined our people for more than two centuries.

What their country asked of them was not small. And what they sacrificed was not easy.

For that, each and every American owes them our heartfelt thanks.

Our promise to them -- to each woman or man who has donned our colors -- is that our country will serve them as faithfully as they have served us. We have already made the largest increase in funding for veterans in decades. So long as I am President, I will do whatever it takes to fulfill that sacred trust.

Tonight, we mark a milestone in our nation's history. Even at a time of great uncertainty for so many Americans, this day and our brave troops remind us that our future is in our own hands and that our best days lie ahead.

    Thank you,

    President Barack Obama

  9. I think WE all have to share in the responsibility... Don't place blame on one man.. Regardless of who is in office...WE are all part of the problem... Look at our environment, its too easy to blame factories, technology that has slowly destroyed the ozone... We are the cause as well...
Your post is spot on, u echo my sentiments..
