How People Overcome Obstacles

There are three people that stand out to me if not a few more with regards to what they have triumphed during hard times. One was a person named Rick, I have kept in contact with him and was raised with him. His father owned a large million dollar business called Empire Pipeline. Unfortunately, at a very young age Rick, his mother and sister were all shoved into a small apartment when his father decided to have and affair with his secretary. Rick went through a very hard time and then when things recently all went down Rick went nearly went bankrupt. Yet he stayed within his sister he rendered his faith and then as of just a few months ago he is working within a hospital as a spokesman coupled with getting recently married to a Haitian lady. Ricki is doing very good I spoke to him just one month ago.

Kevin, he came back home from Afghanistan and he hit the bottle and very harshly. To the point that one friend of mine and myself found him in bed going through what is called a psychosis. Kevin spent six months within a psychiatric ward. However after being diagnosed. He lived at the top of an old building and he really had no close. My friend Jim and myself, bought him some clothes rented him an apartment and as well monitored him for a while and then by way of my friend Jim, whom had good contacts federally - Kevin ended up going to Korea to teach English and came back and restarted his life and now works within customs.

I recall when I was living within New York City there was a man that looked like he was a bum and I just was leaving out of the gym and at the subway entrance this person was beating on a Japanese man. I went over and broke it up and then I could see that the person was a Vietnam Vet. So I took him away from the situation of the fighting and we talked and I asked him a few questions that only he would perhaps understand. At the time ironically, he was homeless and I had a good friend by the name of Orlando. I called Orlando and I am not sure what happened to the man but I do know that Orlando promised that he would take care of it. The next day Orlando indicated that he as well was put into proper care and that he would keep an eye on it and arrange by way of what I believe is called Veteran’s affairs six months later he was sober and was back slowly on his way to at least being an able citizen.

With each and every obstacle that we all see there we really never know what the case is for that person. But when we take the measure and look beyond ourselves there is that certain good will that is a feel good. I will find the pictures of two of these people as I have them and it's one thing to look down at someone and it's another to look beyond that and understand that there are a variety of reasons why there are people that are on the streets. Certainly so, however so often we cast an eye and look the other way. Within my family we have contributed to the less fortunate that suffer from Cancer within one of three hospitals’ here. My desire believe it or not is to build an offshoot building that is tied in with the medical system here. I might fail, I might not. However the merit is within doing. One thought of good will goes a long distance within the economic times that we face as well other areas that we face within these times but for every given situation with the assistance or that small deed that we all can do it creates such a large different to those that are less fortunate.
Perhaps it's all within our perspectives of how we think as some cast a blind eye where there are others that do take that time and do something that truly is of value and I am certain that I am not the only one that has done things as such. As well, I have had my own challenges, with family and as well to be very frank with myself with regards to my knees yet as the old saying goes - where there is a will there is a way.

As if you think life has done you in - it has. If you think that life has much to offer - there is one out there just waiting for so many people that during these times find it hard to just make ends meat. I look at the brighter side of things yet as well I do live my own life and so often in what I have found by way of experience. One really comes to render the best of themselves when they are compassionate to not only others but as well while being compassionate to themselves. To this day I keep in contact with Rick, Kevin, my good friend Jim.

  3. This was my intention and it's some very true stories that I did have the intention of writing on. Where there is a will there is a way. When we don't cast that blind eye.

  5. Bless you , Dear Man...you are certainly an angel who has put away your wings, and volunteers to walk wih humanity. I trust in your wonderful , compassionate energy to manifest all you desire...as it is your right to enjoy the fruits of such high intentions. Whatever you endeavor, if it is done with love and compassion, will manifest to the highest benefit of all. Please don't doubt what you can dream.... It is said... "If you can dream it.. it can happen"...No thing is impossible when the energy you emit for humanity in an unconditionally loving way, is returned 10 fold in what ever manner is in the best interests of all... Love is like that... It returns Loving intention in great abundance. Just be careful what you ask for... Sometimes we wish we hadn't been so exhuberant...and what we asked for certainly was impractical...lol ( That's why I always end my request prayer with: ".. and I ask all this to be what is in my highest and best interest at this time." It definitely keeps things on an even keel.
    Again, Bless you.....Peace

  6. Ironically I was just at your page. Thanks much. You have a great way of expressing yourself and I certainly can relate with your writings. For tomorrow is another day within each day, and I do believe that if you can dream it and and have the belief in what you do with good intentions there will always be something good without expectation that does come out of it. I am just one ordinary person as there are others that have done the very same thing. I believe it's called the unexpected reciprocating effect. And ironically on this very day was the birth of one profound person named Mother Teresa.

  7. after all the hoopla about posting a photo (not rehashing it lol) i was amazed by the number of people that chose not to click on the link on the bottom of the blog... chose not to know more of the woman behind the photo. the real story wasn't in the photo or the blog with it - the true story was in the link that people chose not to visit.

it is easy to only see only what is right before us, without looking deeper. i have always preferred, the longer version of the story.

    sweet dreams jack.

  8. Looks like you see Obstacles as more Challenges to meet.
That's a good outlook to pass on.

Maybe not the way we want but a way we need

  11. Haddie I do, perhaps it came when everything was going so well
and my folks, my brother, my sister and myself we were all
together and then bang. My father ten years ago was hit with
cancer and at the time was given two weeks to live after he
came out of what is called a predisone psychosis. Then within
the first bout with cancer during this time, which was in two areas
I literally called all his friends and I will never forget the one to one
talk that he and I had on the day that he asked me to take out a pen
and to do certain things. And the ending of our meeting that day was
with one request, which he made to me, "Son never leave your mother
alone and ensure that she is taken care of" he has a tremendous will
that is there for her, which I was baffled as executor with what he had
went over and beyond to do for his family by way of his insurance.

But I think that talk was one that really made the "switch impact" as
Obstacles are really hurdles and like a runner or a triathlon runner, one
jumps over them to finish their own run within the trail.

  12. Hope starts with one inner thought DJ....................... ~ I CAN ~

  13. Lynne, hope is the inner trust and confidence we have within each and every one of us some psychologists will say it's based on survival instincts yet there is the theory that hope is really far beyond just an instinct it's much like what in Japanese is called, "ki" which is that inner energy that we all have within us it's something that literally turns on for some during hardship, and then for some it's there within a manner that is within a flow or a nature of being. It's a combination of a state of mind, soul and body.
Yet as human beings we all need somebody. With no doubt we are humans that have that herd mentality. To clarify what you have said each and everyone of us have different manners in the way we live. We all have this area where we are meant to integrate amongst others, each person is different but as the song goes that Sting and Sheryl Crow sang and composed after her own problems that she had went through with the loss of a marriage as well as some problems, they composed a song called, "Always On Your Side".

  14. wonderful inspiring story. full of hope...pereverance ..with encouragement ..is the Keynote to ..Success:)

  15. The only manner we really understand what success is, is when we can look at what we have accomplished. Perserverance and determination along with encouragement or aid gives way to hope. I thunk it out and I thunk it really does apply. Caroline you know this, I know this, We all know this. Yet some don't know this and need that assistance.

  17. You do it Jules I am sure you have there are several that are friends on here and we all really do something in some shape and form.
I thought you did as I recall something you had wrote one day and it stuck with me. Yet we live life but we do take that time out when we see
someone close or otherwise that is in desperation. I know that the note that I made will take time to have some mending with but this was what
I really was getting at and was hoping to write.

Life goes on and there are the great fun things and right now for me, I am considering another move as I have an offer on the table for a month but
I shall head out and go to the gym and then thereafter I have to have my laptop serviced and then there is something within here that in good time I
do wish to mention. Day in and Day out Julie...

  19. Tee you have done it and so many have I know, I just know I am not the only one. Today I will be going and getting my father and taking him for a walk in a park you used to go walk in for years. Today will be the first time he does it or has in two years. So I have a little workout while he has a little workout. I might even take my camera with me.
We all do something within some fashion, as within todays' society turn on the television and tell me what is not self inclined except for the movies that is and that being said there is a great older movie called, Drumline - if you have the chance it is worth watching! I did the other night and was amazed with the story and these marching bands in Georgia...

  20. Recently a great friend that I have know for some two years nearly had all of his house burnt down just two days ago and he celebrates his birthday this Sunday. His name is Doug and I am going to link over to his blog as he sent me a book as he is a writer and literally he is a great gent that from what I have found he has always had some merit and wisdom that he mentions to me and it seemingly does get through to me, while in some difficult times in Quebec, while in difficult times with Cancer within my family and if there is one fast flight I make next aside from work it's going to be meeting Doug and his family.

Doug celebrates his birthday this Sunday, meanwhile nearly half his home was burnt down, yet his family all prevailed. I think this is what we call "good folk".
Here is a link to Doug's page:
