Certainly It's Saturday

Well a great day it has been despite the cold weather weekends are just that way and everyone seems to have that feel with regards to winter. Regardless of anything there really is something within the "doing". From a nice sleep in to a coffee and then dressing up and heading out to a few places. It was a very fine day. How the sun is just going down right now and on one of the coldest days there is no way I am heading out. There is something to just staying warm and I should have rented a movie but we shall see what is on the satellite. Now and then we say something and we do another so we shall see. I have one neighbour that went to Mexico - lucky her and I am tending to her dog while she is gone. Now to spend this time of the season in the tropics would certainly be something. Palm trees and highs of around 75f or 80 degrees yeah that would be a very fine two weeks if you ask me.

It obviously appears that good old Tiger Woods succumbed to temptation just as many celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment have done in the past. Is anyone really surprised? I’m not, although I suppose there are those who always hope that someone as popular, talented, rich and famous as he is at the very pinnacle of the world of golf would in fact be the faithful and devoted husband and father everyone thought he was. What I’m curious to find out is whether this will affect his scores on the golf course. The man has seemed like a machine at times winning so many tournaments while still so young. Jack Nicklaus has generally been thought of as the greatest golfer of all time considering all the tournaments he won including, so far, a record number of majors. However, I think most of us were ready to pass the title of “The Greatest” on to Woods if and when he surpassed Nicklaus in terms of major tournaments won. I don’t recall ever hearing about infidelity or any alcohol or drug problems attributed to Jack Nicklaus. He retired with his image squeaky clean. It will be interesting to see if Tiger Woods still has his game after most of the dust settles on his current troubles because you know what they say -  golf is 90% mental and the other 10% is in your head.

  1. I heard the name Tiger Woods before all this came out but I wasn't even really sure what sport it was ..just didn't pay much attention I guess. Now that all this stuff is going on it's on radio and TV constantly. The famous and the average every day type person are all just people. It's sad what happened though.

Glad you had a fine day despite the weather. Changing seasons are good but the cold brr! Every year I've wanted to go someplace warm for my birthday and the last 2 winters we went to Michigan go figure LOL,, I shoveled snow last year. Have a good night

  3. so this is the dog you are taking care of then? that is nice of you to do. do you have any pets of your own?
I know what you mean about Tiger, it's a daRn shame isn't it? He has ruined himself, he really has.....and all for his indiscretional pleasures.......I would like a real man to explain to me, WHY men feel the need to have sex with other women when they are in fact married? WHY? It's understandable for a single man to go about seeding his sow, or a woman for that matter....but, why in the world get married if you just want to keep having multiple sex partners??

  4. I thnk the difference between now and then is that NOW scandal is big business. The media gets such mileage from reporting/speculating/inflating celebrity scandal it takes on a life of its own. There was a time when the media knew of such indiscretion and would not report it---and the "other woman" would never have come forward and confessed such a thing...she'd have been ruined. Different world in which the Monkey Business is happening---what's happened is nothing new.

Great photo journal of your day Jack. Cold or warm you always take great shots!

  5. I guess we live more and more within a world that there is no privacy but then again we do live within a media driven society, of anyone I would have never thought all of these things would be associated with Tiger as he seemed like a very fine gentleman. I have no clue how these celebrities live under the microscope - but seemingly everything does get out.

And as far as the dog well my friend is within her own delight as she should already be in Mexico tonight.

  6. Thanks Cheryl I am not much of a gulf fan but how things have changed especially within the last three years it seems. But aside of that it was a fine saturday. Tonight it's literally going down to minus 40...so it's just staying warm indoors.

  7. I had one of my own but I haven't since I moved back from NYC. Yeah it's a shame and regardless of celebrity or otherwise I am old school as I had a friend back in Edmonton that really did the same thing and how it effected his friends including myself and as well his wife - she was tremendous but seemingly we live in an era where anything is possible. I think Tiger has sent out vibes to many men and women - maybe Suzy.

  8. bad vibes for sure! if you can't quit poking where you shouldn't be poking, then don't even bother getting married!

  9. Isn't it Sue. Regardless of how much they make I would be so private with my life yet how many do and privacy is still breached. I am not a big fan of this TMZ as it's an example of something far beyond the tabloids. And we thought they were something. Thanks Sue, I just logged on here. In your neck of the woods I see that even down in Georgia there was snow. I guess we can blame it on the ozone layer - maybe :)

  13. I was over at your blog Frank and you have not posted much as you always have some great things on there. Aside of that said must be nice as it's going down to 40 below here which is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit - as you know.

  14. I agree with the GApeach. Today every miniscule detail about anyone remotely famous is Big Business. I would add that I do think we as people have become More Shameless,,, there used to be a time when Reputation Mattered and people strived to have a Good Reputation, today its just something of a Fringe Benefit if you have one.. it doesnt form the Core of who we are.

  15. This is so true Rashmi, and yet it does give example but even the fact that I posted it, but the comparison is Jack Nicklaus a great golfer of earlier days that we have no idea really on what he did with his life and then now within these days where there is no privacy.

Is it becoming our culture this sensationalism?

  16. I think it has... We love the gory details, private conversations, sharing secrets, selling out another for money... do you think there would be such things written if no one bought them?

  17. Generally society at large thrives on sensationalism and I don't think they would, there are people that look more towards something in which they gain something from.

  18. All I can say is that ~ a man once married should stay faithful to the wife ... if not ~ why married at all. They better stay single forever and play around and have _ _ _ whom ever they wish ... hmmm.

By the way ... what a dashing lovely dog laughs* ... sightseeing eh ... he's so cute in his red suit! :)
