How we adapt. The temperature was -35c in the morning and then by the afternoon it was -22 in farenhiet. I really don't know how we do it but we do. I went around town with the idea of getting some pictures while I did the things I do. While going from one place to another it was something to see how many cars were getting boosted by towing trucks and for those that were well prepared it really is something to see the exhaust from vehicles. There were a few places I did wish to take some pictures while I was doing my Saturday so to speak. And still to this day it amazes me in how we adapt and just carry on with a variety of things. Yet early in the morning most people are staying inside, but as the day went along people began to "wake up" and just go about their own routines even though it was - 22 in Fahrenheit. I had went for lunch and after going to the hospital here one of three that are here and this one is called City Hospital which is tied in with the Mayo Clinic, and then before all this I was going to go up on top of a building that I know but the owner was in Mexico – go figure. So it’s truly the coldest day thus far and why, I don’t know but you dress and you just do it.
But this weather still amazes me even to this day.
let me know when you see -50 and I will tell you how we did it
ReplyDeletecute puppy, thanks for the pics.:)
ReplyDeleteNice photos. I don't know how you do it either, that is really cold!
ReplyDeleteImpressive !
ReplyDeleteWow that is awesome did you take this today?

ReplyDeleteNice pic of the town
ReplyDeleteYeah we are getting a jetstream straight down from what is called Hudson's Bay. Very cold, normally this takes place in January.
ReplyDeleteThis river Cheryl never freezes up like this but it's what it is..
ReplyDeleteThe exhaust heat hitting the air at -22F :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of three hospitals here that is tied in with the Mayo Clinic. It's literally states of the art.
ReplyDeleteThis was taken from a distance and way down three blocks you can see this Bessborough - which I had place on yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThis is really right in the middle of the city and where the east side meets up with the west side of the city.
Hi Parrie he is all dressed up :)
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing your photos, very nice work! It's been cold here too, but not quite as cold as you have. I think the trick for dealing is to dress, eat, and drink well. keep warm :)
ReplyDeleteVery cold here too. I didn't stay outdoors too long today. 35 F right now and the winds have died down...feels better out there. :o)
ReplyDeleteNo this is one of the coldest provinces in Canada, Manitoba is known to be the coldest. Oh all these pictures where taken today and ironically everyone dresses for it but most will warm up the car for half an hour and then rush off and then rush back home. Then there are others as I when going out with having a few things at hand and it's a day that one does where long johns - literally! Unless a person is from the the very southern part of latin america, they would never be able to relate but regardless where we live is where we adapt. There is an old saying "if you don't have a good sense of humour don't one could never live here" :).
ReplyDeleteHi Frani, I arrived home and then had to head back out and literally it's -22F right now but no wind :) So the furnace is on and it's good now to be indoors.

ReplyDeleteThis was taken within the poli sci building here and there was hardly anyone on campus but
ReplyDeletebeyond it is what is called "the bowel", it's a park that is surrounded by stone buildings...
I think he would have rather been in Mexico if you ask me. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the largest river in all of Canada Frank literally this area didn't freeze over and I was up on these ramp that
ReplyDeletethey built here for tourists.

ReplyDeleteSome incredibly beautiful Photographs here, yet, one I thought you might have included was that of a blazing fireplace.
ReplyDeleteStay warm, good friend, and wear a hat out-of-doors.
love the water shots! brrrrr!
ReplyDeleteMy house is one this blog ironically but it's something that I don't really wish nor will place on here Charles as I am a private person.
ReplyDeleteThis all said the fireplace is on each and every night and I can't wait to see the bill for the heating of this place. How do you spell tuk
is it tok or took if you look over to this screen of my profiles, I wear three different styles of these or I will place in ear plugs sometimes
both. And as well there is a picture of me with my jeans on and waiting to see a family member but I were thermal's coupled with
an ointment called Zostrix, which heats up the legs. Today we shall see as I hope to do a little not alot and if so - it's indoors.
Last night was the coldest night of 2009 for here but one would be surprised at how one nice cup of coffee feeds and warms the soul.
How about ice captures? :)
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful
ReplyDeletegreat picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks GG he is not mine but a friends his name is Winston.
ReplyDeleteIt does look very impressive when its cold like that. Surprising for as cold as it is, you don't have much snow.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice but yet for it to be doing this GG it's really darn cold, yet it looks good from the indoors.
ReplyDeleteThanks and a good morning!
No we don't get that much snow but it's like I am not sure how one would compare this a place that rarely gets all
ReplyDeletethat much snow a little with the exception now and then but is one of the coldest cities in Canada aside of Edmonton and Winnepeg.

ReplyDeleteThat is a hand-made Christmas ball is it? This one is pretty.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, cars parked that way. We do not see it much here in Quebec. We park along the sidewalks, in parallel. I suppose you can park more that way but the streets have to be much larger. Looks like a nice town.
ReplyDeletegreat pics! love the dog in the red by himself!
ReplyDeletegreat captures of the waves as well!
