The End of Roman Polanski...

First we must get the reality separated from all the conjecture and noise that is surrounding the Roman Polanski affair.

As things now stand, Polanski is in prison in Switzerland as Swiss authorities wait for a formal extradition request from the U.S. The Americans have until late November to file that request.

Polanski's lawyers have asked for the movie director's immediate release from prison, offering to accept house arrest. But legal experts say that since Polanski has already proven to be a flight risk that is unlikely.

Predictions abound on how many months of legal efforts it might take to free Polanski.

Then: Roman Polanski, 43, in 1977, entering court in Santa Monica, Calif., where he pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. But in the end, the prevalent view is that Polanski is going to be taken to Los Angeles, where he will immediately be sentenced for his 1977 conviction of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and charged with flight from justice.

He will then go to jail.

Lapse of morality

In the movie capitals of the world, campaigns are being mounted to try to keep Polanski from jail.

The argument here is that the director is 76 and that his life should be measured by his body of work, not a one-time lapse of morality.

Movies such as Chinatown and Rosemary's Baby are classics. But Polanski's arrest back in 1977 involved six charges, including sodomy and the drugging of a minor for sex.

Had he been found guilty of all charges he could easily have been sentenced to life in prison.

The facts here — that he raped and sodomized a 13-year-old girl in the Los Angeles home of Jack Nicholson — have not been challenged in court by Polanski. (Nicholson was away at the time.)

He gave the girl champagne and Quaaludes during a supposed photo shoot and he repeatedly refused her pleas to be let go. The entire incident lasted four hours.

His lawyers arranged a plea bargain that saw Polanski serve 46 days in prison for psychiatric observation after which he was to plead guilty to the single charge of "unlawful sexual intercourse."

Their assumption was that the 46 days would be the entire penalty.

Polanski had been allowed to go to Europe after his brief prison stint and was to return to Los Angeles for sentencing.

He subsequently said that he learned the judge was going to "tack on more prison time" and he bolted to France, where he had citizenship.

There has never been any corroboration from Los Angeles legal authories that the judge intended to change the plea bargain.

Puritanical America

In Europe, Polanski has many supporters, including some very high-up people in the French government, although President Nicolas Sarkozy has so far been silent on the issue.

The French press has been on about Americans having a more puritanical view of the world than the sophisticated French.

But that is clearly an elitist view. Polls in France indicate that the majority feel Polanski should return to Los Angeles to face the music.

The victim, now a 45-year-old mother of three, says she wants the charges dismissed.

Samantha Geimer has not retracted her original testimony in any way, testimony that Polanski agreed in court was true. But she now says she doesn't want to be seen as a victim and she wants the ordeal to end.

In fact, earlier this year, well before Polanski's arrest in Switzerland, she filed a formal appeal to the Los Angeles prosecutor's office asking for the charges to be dropped. A few years ago, she sued the filmmaker and received an undisclosed settlement.

Public opinion

One can certainly sympathize with this woman, but she is no longer central to this case. She will never have to appear or testify in court again.

Polanski is dealing with sentencing from the original plea and the new charge of flight from justice, which U.S. legal authorities have been pursuing for decades now.

But Geimer does have a central place in public opinion and it is more than just symbolic.

For generations, women have suffered unfairly in rape cases, particularly at the hands of the courts. The onus of guilt was often shifted to the woman under the phrases "she should have known better" or, even worse, " she asked for it."

These ugly phrases and the often lack of support from the police and courts caused untold numbers of women to suffer in silence rather than seek justice in a public forum.

Fortunately, things are changing, but not far enough nor fair enough. Polanski's efforts to avoid prison —coupled with all the prominent people who are rushing to support him — are a reminder to many women of the unfairness of both public sentiment and the legal system.

There have been been many efforts by Polanski supporters to bend public opinion over the years. He has certainly had an extraordinary life: his mother died in Auschwitz; his wife, actress Sharon Tate, was murdered by Charlie Manson's gang of mad killers in 1969.

In 2008, an HBO documentary titled Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired raised charges of misconduct and manipulation during Polanski's trial by the sitting judge. That judge died a number of years ago.

Polanski's lawyers in Los Angeles took many of those charges to court seeking to overturn his sentence. The judge in that case said there some potential areas of misconduct but that without Polanski in court to testify the effort failed.

This may be Hollywood, but the courts are not prepared to have you send along one of your aides to deal with the judge.

It is often said that the mills of justice grind slowly and they will in this case as well.

But fast forward a bit and Polanski will be heading to Los Angeles. Notwithstanding the support he has on the red carpets, it will be he and a sentencing judge who will put THE END to this sordid affair...

Old Ties Never End

Well here we are at Wednesday. I met up with another friend that I have known since I was 17years of age and we have kept in contact on and off. You know how it is you move around. I was amazed at how he had looked I was looking for some new glasses while I decided to call him. His name is Jim and while we were in high school we I never thought that he would amount to much.

Ironically today was the first time that we met up. We had lunch and I was in the midst of ensuring that my folks got to the doctor as my father has come down with a serious viral infection. So I right at the opening of the store early in the morning I was in there browsing around - man, there is an array of glasses one can buy now. So there after I called my cousin Caroline and we are getting together within the next few days, but when it came to finishing off with my folks and making sure they arrived home - there was Jim on the phone.

"Let's do lunch", he hollered and I had to laugh as I know he was excited to see me since I have not seen him in three years and I was as well. Well I will be darn Jim went to get his masters and then now he is a works within federal corrections.

But the amazing thing is that he had put on some weight. And I told him that straight out when we me and then he explained to me, "you know wife and kids and so forth". And Jim is not fat, but ironically I guess at a certain age things do change with the body.

Possibly men do have a change as much as women do. But aside of that it was great visit. Ironically some people are very stand offish with having there picture taken. As within these times some really don't want there picture taken if it's something that is on the internet - this is true. I can't tell you how many that I have come across that are like this.

Aside of that I have yet to get new glasses and shall and I really am on that just likes something that is not here today and gone tomorrow if you know what I mean.  So all in all it was a good day as cold as it was.

I have yet to decide on the pair of glasses but aside from that it was a productive day.

Welcome to Autumn

It's fair to say that we have recieve our Autumn in a very fast manner. I will have some pictures today, if all goes well. My father's health is one the decline I am going to be taking him in today.

He came down with a flu and he has a slight vascular dementia from six strokes. And making a long story short you do what you have to do. But within it I look more forward to things. I have been tending to a few things and I hope after one things within this month that all can go forwards in a good manner.

What does Autumn mean to you? I know as far as Autumn it's that time where there is a preperation for a winter as usually we will get our first snow fall in the last two weeks of November but this year is very unpredictable.

We have an over cast day here and it's rather cold but getting used to it. So it's flow of sort. One can sit and wait or one can move ahead. I find that within life moving forward is the best thing to do - it's a choice and there is nothing one can do but make that own self decision. So it's up and onwards. It's time to move beyond things.

So with that all said I bid to those on this side of the pond and great fall season and right around the corner is Thanks Giving believe it or not. How time has move beyond so fast.

To Those That Are Blogging Friends.

You can never please everyone. One whom I do feel is a decent person but has a group mentioned that "if you have a problem with ______". Then you have a problem with me. I look at the bright sides of things and I do hope that all that I have as a foundation on my blog do say that way.

I don't have my chat messenger on as of yet but I am not going to let this disruption continue. R... it's a decent person, but if that's the situation so be it.

I don't know why people can't just get along. This was being outplayed for some time. And I have never disrespected anyone, meanwhile I do get my share. And then some but all in all I enjoy the writes and the shares as anyone else. I hope that my bloging friends do stay along with me as I am not into this copy and paste of what others come up with sometimes I ponder about some of this but when you email - outside of yahoo or multiply is hacked in by one and another has continued to send you invites and has two id's - it's the work of three.  Once again I do hope I have a continued bloging relationship with everyone.

I love one other group aside of that I really do enjoy as I have stated to write and blog. I believe it's time to move along. Those that have known me know that I am anything but one that will exercise a delete unless there really is a need now a days.

I literally hate to delete I do...But everyone does. And it's done and over with. And I am not looking back with this situation...

We All Have that Choice...

We all have that given right within what we write within our blogs. I have had some unnecessary things that have happened with a few people. And I do value my privacy.

One tells me that they have never deleted a person within there life, where as I have deleted and you know how it can go with people that will play the underhanded think.

I don't get angry but I know the meaning of sharing. It's not something that is other than what it is. I have come to the conclusion with that I am making some changes with things and I wished to say it as I know the old gossip factor will happen. Everyone has there own manner and I will exercise that choice as I deem fit. I don't usually do this and I I love the idea of freedom of what we all do but yet at the same time there are those that will be so underhanded and some that are mature enough to think on what they are doing.

So if you get the gossip factor - so be it. I love to write and that's basically what all it's comes down too.

Onwards we go...while at the same time I do wish to make a request as to whom does with to be on my blog. I have taken my time for so long in reading and writing and when you have ones that play the game as you know what I mean...it's just time to ignore them. So when and if you hear gossip you can believe it or not there are some but I am not going to waiver with this ....not this time.

Secondly I don't live on here.

Good Morning

Well we had a change in climate like you would not believe from a weather that was like July in September to moving right into a climate that is below the normal temperatures for this time of year.

Yesterday night it was well below zero in C. That is where there is frost and what a drastic change. Weather it does have it's ups and downs and I feel the change of season coming on as right now in the morning it's mere 5 degrees in Celsius.

One in my father came down with a harsh flu. Well and then some seemingly it's effected other areas especially neurologically so this is a day to take him in and see what is what. I have been feeling feeling some onset of something but we shall see how it goes.

I have not been on here much. So today is a clean up and get ready for winter day. And last night I had formatted this computer as I had too many pictures that were taking up too much on my hard drive.

I stepped back from this blog as I know that now and then you have to break your routine. And for a few days I knew that was mine of my own choice - when you come back to it it's funny in how you have a different look with regards to it.  But that is just me.

Bidding you a good morning and a great day.

A Comment and then Some...

Ok let see there is Picture Perfect and the theme is capture. Gosh I think this time I am going to leave it be and come back to it later. As far as everything else. I think we all are creative in this blogosphere sharing different ideas and ideas.

We all have our own respect with regards to what we do. And I think about this word peace and peace it not only within times of war it goes far beyond that. Peace is a state of mind as well as a state of affairs I guess.

We have seen so many things that are going on within the world and yet at the same time we all do what we are inclined and enjoy to do. I think that should be as is the allowance really within it all.

I know we all have different stokes, as we all are different folks but that is what makes this so unique. So many thoughts does come to ones thoughts and ideals.

What brings us together? I am not sure, I think there is a fitting way in which we all do things here. We write and we have thoughts on a wide range of things. No one is right nor is anyone wrong we gain within it all but the maintenance or common denominator is that we all have a respect.

Respect gives way to so many things. We all share not only by way of pictures but in so many ways. I guess there is a community that we write about those very things that are predominant within our lives.

Every person writes with such a varied view. Yet seemingly there is a common thread that we all do share. Regardless of time zones, countries, really when it come down to it we are borderless when you really come to think about it.

As the "waves of the internet or blogosphere" give way to a lending affair. If you as me I certainly enjoy it - it's part of our world as we know it.

The Hottest day on Record

There is hot and then there is really hot today was the hottest day on record here. It's just starting to cool down. It's one thing to be warm but it's another to have such extreme heat. Within the afternoon while I was on my way home I had to pull over and take a look at what was going on and it was a Cree ceremony of some sorts.

I am not all that familiar with the native or aboriginal ways with the exception that they really were the first people here within these new lands.

It's just something I thought I would share as I have never come across this within a long time. We always think what is best for our countries and yet societies as such were the very first to be here.

As far as the heat it was over and above what one would be accustom to for this time of the year.

Yet I certainly can't complain.

Canadian delegation leads walkout as Ahmadinejad Speaks

Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon led a Canadian walkout as Iran's president began speaking to the United Nations Wednesday night, a boycott that was followed by diplomats from the United States and other countries. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad then launched into a tirade against the United States, Israel, and Jews.

The government signalled earlier in the day that they planned the walkout to protest the Iranian leader's past attacks on Israel and denial of the Holocaust, as well as his regime's disregard for human rights.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Wednesday the boycott was justified by Mr. Ahmadinejad's “disgraceful, insulting declarations.”

“…There is no way I'm going to permit any official of the government of Canada to be present and give any legitimacy to remarks by a leader like that,” Mr. Harper told reporters in Oakville, Ont.

AP

Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon, his minister of state Peter Kent and another member of the Canadian delegation walk out of the United Nations General Assembly as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad takes the podium on on Sept. 23, 2009.

The United States had said its delegation wouldn't walk out, but leave only lower-level diplomats in the room. But as Mr. Ahmadinejad spoke, the U.S. diplomats left their seats to protest against what they called “hateful, offensive, and anti-Semitic rhetoric.”

Diplomats from several other countries also exited the UN's general assembly, leaving a large portion of the chamber's seats empty.

In an attack on Jews around the world in last night's speech, Mr. Ahmadinejad said “it is unacceptable that a small minority should dominate the politics, economy, and culture of vast parts of the world through a complicated network and establish a new form of slavery…”

Mr. Ahmadinejad's speech had been delayed till the evening because of Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi's lengthy, rambling tirade in the morning, but a few hours before the Iranian President took to the podium, Mr. Cannon said the walkout was necessary because of the Iranian President's disregard for human rights, his violation of UN Security Council resolutions on nuclear non-proliferation, his anti-Semitic attacks and his “erratic behaviour in terms of denying the Holocaust.”

It's Just Another Day

Well there is nothing much new from these parts, I did not realize the floods that were taking place in some parts of the South.

But here the days are shorter and the nights are starting to get longer but that all said today it was well over 86F degrees. Now that is something for this time of year.

Still testing my camera gizmoe but while I am thinking about it's Wednesday within the middle of the week. There have been a few blog that I have read and there is nothing much new except for what we see within the news.

So it's just another day...um, eve...

Outdoor Bowling with Lance.avi

I knew that this existed on the West side of the city but I never did with this
east sid of the city Lance is a great person and here he was preparing for the fall yet there we many that still wished to play grass bowling.

Lance is an older man that has been here for some time. He was within the war of WW2 but we shall not go there as Vance wished.

Today is hot and I we all are pondering if this is still the season as it very hot.

Hello To Autumn

Well Autumn is here and the leaves are just starting to change and the sunsets come much earlier at this time of year. There is something about that evening sky for it lends somethings with clarity within ones own eyes.

A Variety of Tests

A various amount of test with this new Nikon.

I will certainly see how it is with a bit of time I have two weeks to return it and I find this is certainly a change to say the least. It's not as compact and there are so many settings that one really has to be set on what they are going to do
with this little guy.

All of these picture were taken in the later part of the afternoon.

Welcome to Autumn...

Bidding Summer a Farewell

The “Autumnal Equinox” happens at 3:18 tomorrow afternoon so tomorrow will be breakfast in summer and supper in fall. Although we won’t be able to tell by the weather. This is the July we missed in July. It’s confusing because we’re not sure when we should blow out our lawn sprinklers or put away the the lawn mowers.

Maybe just maybe we’ll be able to get a head start on next year. In looking back, this will be the warmest September on record for here. I knew something was up when I noticed the lack of geese flying south lately. They’re either smart enough to have known that summer was actually going to be August and September this year.

To think they don’t have to go south. I hope its not the latter because then they’re all gonna die! We hear stories of an El Nino in the Pacific which normally means a mild winter and I hope it’s true.

Up here I believe we deserve a milder, shorter winter for a change. One thing is for certain, you can no longer predict the traditional seasons with any certainty.

July and September trading months, who would have thought? If we get lucky, perhaps we’ll have an “Aug-tober”, then September in November, Christmas in the month of “Oct-cember” and start the new year with “June-uary”.

But don’t count on it.

R E L I E F

There are a few new people I have connected with and yesterday I wrote this story with regards to family. Ironically today out of no where I had a call from my mother. I dropped all things at 11am as there was a need to overwatch my father. As my mother apparently had to run to the bank. I certainly know they are getting older. But at the same time I am still glad they are around.

Some of you were on my blog when I had a situation that took place with my father's health and I will tell you I thought here it comes again. He was very sick and did not wish to go into the emergency. So, I made a call into his doctor whom teaches as a clinician at the university as well as has handled my father as a GP for years. Finally I convinced him to go into the clinic and thank god it's a flu and he was given Amoxicillin.

How ironic I wrote this one story with regards to family and thereafter I had this situation. Did I fear the situation again, yeah I did and I think my father did as well - as well my mother.

So finally they are all fine and I am all to glad that this day is over to say the least. Things happen that are so often very unexpected. But I am glad that I was not spending my entire evening within the emergency again.

I am relieved beyond words...

It was just some few months back actually probably 8, that he went through this situation that we thought was going to take place again.

Just A Thought

There are countless words that could summarize so much within each and every given day.

It am not sure if that is possible...

Regardless it's interesting to say the least.

Peace

Families...

I was never raised with my relatives but every two years as a child we used to go to this small town in Canada and were both of my folks are from. My father was the youngest of his family and the only one with the exception to one that moved on.

Back in those days many people back then would stayed in one place. I have fond recollections of being dropped off with my father’s sister. She had only two daughters. They never had a son – and I stayed out at their farm. I was sort of looked as a son in some ways...

The two cousins of mine I came to know briefly, one was a very and the other had her ways if you know what I mean. But Kari was always nice and married and lives in a place called Brandon, Manitoba – I knew her well for two years but I always had my reservations with Dana whom went on to become a theologian for the United Church.

Margie my aunt always kept in contact with me – she really was the only Aunt that seemingly there was a very good connection with. She would call long distance to me wherever I was.

Unfortunately she passed away and there was a service for her. My father was always considered to be the first to pass on when he first had his cancer, but he still is alive and recently I had a talk with him and learned that he nor my mother were never informed nor invited to the funeral for my aunt and the one that really raised my father while he was a child.

Making and long story short, the rest of my father’s family have called him and apologized but not once has there been neither a card nor any communication from my Aunt’s daughters – I think that is a pity.

I know that families have their ways but within families there should always be some sort of respect. I know Kari well enough that she would have at least got on the phone and called my father but my cousin Dana apparently was the one that prepared everything and for one that is a minister it really amazes me that she of all people would have dishonored my father in such a way.

In speaking with my father he indicated to me that the best thing to do is just be silent and I had a call from one other cousin that was apologizing and concerned with regards to my this situation who’s name is Trevor. And Trev, is a good guy and I just told him my two cents and you can pick your friends but sometimes you really question how some people are.

When my aunt’s husband passed away back many years ago from a heart attack, my father went and stayed with his sister for a month to just ensure that she was all right till he helped her arrange for a place in town.

I know my father has been a bit down with all of this and I as well felt rather bad, as had a grand connection with my aunt. But my two cousins certainly did a dishonor to my family.

You can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family…it’s silly how some are. But I look on the brighter sides of things – and I just chalk it up to that I never really knew my to cousin yet I hope they never do call me.

Now and then things cross that line if you know what I mean. And this one did. I have known about it for a week now.

And you just chalk it up I guess to experience...

Sunday

This really has been the strangest summer I have seen in a long time. Today it was so cold!

(How cold was it?)..:)

It was so cold that I left out at midday and dressed up with what one would normally wear for this time of year the only thing is I did not have a warm enough jacket it's was 10c which I believe is 50f. That with the pouring rain and wind only left the option to do things indoors. I headed to a few places but amazing to me I did not realize that the New York Ranger had there training camp going on here.

There was no way getting in as I have before from the back door as it seems that this city has grown so fast that there is security everywhere. Thank god with the practice anyone could go in and watch. I new I had to be back on the other side of town to meet up with my cousin - as she asked me to come bowling. I am not sure about you but the last time I bowled was when I was around 12 years old. But it was fun to say the least.

There were a few other things I had done but by the time I got home it was time to make a change of clothing and have a warm shower.

Gosh it can't be this time of the year yet! I have to find the farmer's almanac! Just yesterday it was so hot it must have something to do with the cycles within our weather cycles. Speaking of cycles, what goes up always has to come down but with weather I think it is within the later part of next month...:)

The probable reason why we there is such a variance within the weather this summer comes from a write from a good friend here online. This one post of here certainly does tell the story in a way.

The Second - last Sunday of September

A day that was all to cold and there was more rain than I have seen in some time.

I went to see the New York Rangers Hockey team practice as they are here till the 20th and thereafter I head to a few places and it has been so dark and cold that the auto lights on the freeways all have been on.

Thereafter I wanted to head to the pool but just to get a few pictures as this was a day that if you did not have to go outside - you stayed indoors as it was a very cold wet day in comparison to yesterday.

There after I went and met my cousin and took in a round of bowling with her friends and upon returning the city police where out giving tickets - left and right as this is the time in which they have to make there quota. Seems they are always around at this time of the month.

This is the last Sunday of the month and it's hard to believe where the time has gone. It's seems like just yesterday it was July.

It's Been a Full Day...

It's been a hot day. I am not sure about you but I will head off and then come back weekends are those time to get caught up with things. I went to see one very good friend I didn’t realize that it was only just 9:30am. Well you just don’t drop in on people without any advance but I did we have that kind of a friendship I have known her for years and after that I went for a swim.

Then of course I had to get to the grocery store, as I love diet Pepsi. Thereafter I headed to this Don's photography shop and by the time noon comes I have done so much. But that has always been my way. I love waking up early in the morning and by the time it gets to this time I have covered allot of areas.

It became very hot to say the least and well it's just been a very good day. It's ironic as usually I love the hot weather but how it's been cool and then hot it's really different for myself this time of the year. But I can't complain.

How we all get all these things done and then find our own time to just chill out and take it easy.  In the evening I get to this computer and I think of what I wish to write about or reflect about and it's a creative endeavour to say the least.

But for some reason I find it very interesting. No interesting is not the word, there is something about it. Again all fans are on and I guess I am bantering on here but it's interesting to say the least.

Every day there is always something one can write about. And it always seems to come within time. Today I have covered allot of ground including those of the university.

There have been some that have been asking with regards to when this situation I have is happening and it's the first week of October but I don't think about it. What I do enjoy is just writing as well as sharing different ideas, as that’s what we all are on here for.

Cadence by way of computing. There is a topic, but it's all interesting and I just enjoy this so as everyone has there own things that they do but in the evening how many are literally on a blog. I guess I am old school as I love to balance it all out and we all have something to write about and connect with.

What is this in the manner that we all connect in this fashion? I am not sure. All that I know is that many are doing it. The only thing that I literally do despise if I may say is that there just is not enough time within the day. So I sit back and just enjoy the time. Yet I would love to head downtown especially at this time where it starts to get dark, but knees have had there worth of work. Often I say to myself, think outside of the box and do it and I have done this before and paid the price so I am best to just enjoy the eve around home.

But these are the times and we balance all things out and it's all with regards to balance. Balance isn’t something that one can force it's just a state of mind.

Browsing For A Camera

I am fine with what I have but it's now I really wish to do more as a hobby. I have seen all so many pictures from others and at this point in time I do think
that it's time to get something.

Everyone seems to know what fits for them and I am just figuring out what fits for me. Browsing around and thinking it out is the best thing as I am not one to waste but at the same time one wishes to have something that has some good rate of return as well as a duration that does not expire in a year.

So browsing around I have been doing yesterday as well as today.

In search of a Camera Video.avi

Needs and wants...part of my day included returning back to this one good store and figuring out if I want to buy a new camera or if it's more of a want.
The array of cameras they have go from $250 all the way up to $10,000 dollars. I am conservative when it come down buying this as such.

I have not bought but I know there is room for negotiation. And if not then I will go to the competition. But the Nikon sales rep. was there today to my surprise and I have his card and I might just got directly to him. Then there is
no extra costs - but we shall see.

It really comes down to if one really needs it or it's a want.

Morning Rant

Well as you know I am on a small waiting period with some health matters but that is not stopping anything I do. Yesterday I had ventured to a camera shop.

Boy I will tell you these places are packed. Within an area of nearly only 1,500 sq.ft., there were tons of people not buying just the old small cameras but literally ones that are worth nearly a thousand dollars. I struck up a conversation with to older gents as I thought they would be more on my level as I did dare to show my camera and here they too had some Olympus something that they had just got and were getting their camera lens serviced - sounds like and cost like a secondary car if you as me.

I am considering buying a new camera the card with all the specs and the cost is a good rate of return one is a Canon....for some reason I am not a big canon fan, and then there is the Nikon D-60 if my memory serves me right. There is one other one and it's on sale and has everything including this nearly one foot long attachable zoom lens.

Needs and wants. I will head back and go to a few other places and I might just end up keeping what I have as it is nearly three years old now when all this photo technology was starting to become popular - but now it's the area in which everyone wants to not just take pictures - they want to capture the essence of things.

I am conservative with how I spend and I am great at negotiating a price down but one has to ask themselves where they wish to spend there money wisely.

Today was suppose to go up to 30 degrees but it shall be nice. So says the weather man. So we shall see what all come about today. This last week I have never relogged on to a computer so much within one day.

Last night I had a very good friend tell me to "go take pictures". And the best time to do it is either early very early in the morning or I have to head out one of these nights. The only problem with that is that with the crime we have had these days you have police all over the city. Early morning seem much better than at night, and right now I am looking outdoors and I can see I missed that sunrise which I wished to capture. There is always another day from which to do it.

Does one do things in a forced manner or do they just do things as they come on weekends - I prefer the later, along with a great cup of coffee with a tad of milk and honey.

I have had a great week and I wish everyone connected to me a very nice weekend...

The Beatles are Back

The newly remastered tunes from the Fab Four are on the market and selling like hotcakes.

The most influential band of the 20th century continues on through their timeless music that helped define the baby boom generation. It’s cool to think we’re talking about the 60’s here. Most radio stations today don’t play many songs from that era. The Beatles went their separate ways in 1970. Their last album, Let It Be, was released in May of that year.

Speaking of Beatles albums, my brother whom is a large collector of the Beatles still has their second one. With the Beatles, released in Europe on November 22nd, 1963. It’s on vinyl, he found the original album, which was from Germany so the language on the cover is German. You might be thinking how was it released in 1963 when we didn’t hear or see the Beatles until 1964?

The band conquered Great Britain and the continent before coming to conquer the colonies. Their first LP, Please Please Me, was out in March of ’63 and songs like Please Please Me, Love Me Do, and I Saw Her Standing

There topped the overseas charts many months before the lads from Liverpool appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in February ’64 and drove North American teenagers into a frenzy.

From Country fans to lovers of Jazz, I can’t think of anyone I’ve met who doesn’t like, or at least appreciate some or all of the tunes that came from the hearts and minds of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

Picture Perfect ~ Urban

The theme this week within Picture Perfect is

~ Urban ~

This is a picture I took while I lived last year in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Picture is below...

I have been and lived in several cities and what I have found is that most folk wish to get away from the city. I have found that in New York, Edmonton, Calgary nearly every city that I have lived within. Urbanization is something that does have it's pros as well as cons as you are able to get much more interesting pictures from a variety of places! The cons well I think many know what those are on this side of the oceans as far as crime and so forth.

This is my submission, it's one year since I took this picture and where I live now is a city that is merely 200,000 in population and has always been looked upon as having the best of both worlds as it has the flavours that come along with being a city while at the same time having a charm of a small town which I find is very unique.

I used my camera and looked to get the reflection of the city in the middle of a conservatory.

Tony Bennett - It Had to Be You

This song goes back sometimes - there is something about some of the old time singers. This is a song that I have loved for years and there still today there is an array of music that never can be replaced and it survives the test of time.

A few Quick Thoughts...

When I got through with everything today I knew where the timing was. It’s something I accept. Certainly one does take into account all the areas of life and what is and what can be. I guess that all comes down to being human.

I could go back and one could ask so many questions but the truth to the matter is that one does surrender things at some stage and leave it up to what can be. I never have drawn myself to a conclusion. I have always seized things and this shall happen again.

So often we can think in so many ways and there is that allowance to having one’s own space from which to think things out and afterwards you come out of it with a good perspective.

This morning I posted something that truly was endearing from a very young lady, as it seemed to sum so many things up. What is within the moment never stays the same as things always do change.

We all look at things in a variety of ways. But how we perceive and go forward with things is one in which is to our own accord. Life is not perfect, but life is very worthy.

To that I am going to make a few calls and then tomorrow is a new day. A day of worth and one thing always does lend and lead it’s self into tomorrows.

There are some things that we don’t have any control over and then there are some in which we do. It’s all within how we look at things in the best of times and of course all times.

As life itself and what we set as goals are what makes and shapes our surroundings.

Friendships....by Silvia

I thoought this was truly worth posting I am not sure if she is on but I know there is a very good understanding with this very intellegent young lady. She knows who she is and I thought I would post what she had wrote as it's extremely intellegent and well it's worth the post....As well, as something to think about.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recent days I noticed some interesting human behavior. Not meant to criticism but in fact it made me learn more about life and friendship itself.
What we called a friendship? Friendship is the mutually cooperative and supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as the exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for some, the practical execution of friendship is little more than the trust that someone will not harm them. This one I got from Wikipedia. But is it all? I think it’s not as simple as this definition.
I just noticed my friends recent days and how they treat people around made me surprise. I just wondered with some kind of friendship behavior that I found and I don’t know why I didn’t realize this long time ago. I felt disappointed with some of my friends. Maybe because I trusted them as my friends and I always care with them and it’s a kind of respect I give in the friendship. But I don’t know why some people I met didn’t have these all? I have one best friend that close than another and she often shared her thought and her worried with me and I always be there for her and gave her some advices as best friend usually does. The friendship is ok until I realize recent days that in my bad time, she became so egoist and only thinking about herself, not mean to hoping the return I ever gave but where is her empathy. What is a friendship? I felt disappointed with her and it makes me open my eyes about her. She is not true and always said a good things in front of others which I think is not a good friend behavior. Now I understand what she ever told me before that why she difficult to found a lasting friend. Uh, let’s forget about her!
Also some of my intelligent friends, who you can share each other about work or global issues used to be very nice. We made friends for years and I also realize them long time ago that maybe not to close is better. They had habit to talked bad things about others behind (when the people they talked about is not there) which I don’t like at all. I think that don’t talk people bad behind is better if you do not want others to do the same things to you. They speak like a style not respect the small people (staff or even friends). You know, not everyone have an intelligence as good as yours, right. And I think that it’s not their mistake to don’t have such an intelligence, so why should speak not honor with others? Everyone have their own thinking and I know that if they also want us to hear them and understand about what they are thinking. If it’s not suitable us, we can advice them and try to give understanding and not by speak loudly with a not good voice as I heard just now.
In fact, I also find another side of these people. They do have lot of friends! Sometimes they become so nice with others. Sometimes always try to sacrifice for other (I don’t know if she sincere or not) and some of them become near to other because need something (this one I know for sure!). The point why we made friends for years because I do not thinking much about them and because we are in the same environment, you can not just ignore them if you want to create a good environment. In other side, I don’t wish that I have a behavior like that and thanks God that I never be like that until now. I ever tried to talked about this to them but finally I think it's not a good idea.
I have another simple friends who I called best friends. We made friends since we were very young. Although they are not as intelligence as my friends above but I feel save and happy to made friend with them all. They are just so honest and sincere. We share for others and always care without any needed inside. If have something not good, we never talked behind. We said honestly and it makes the friendship lasting until now. No pretend and no gossip behind. Mostly of them married already and moved to another cities but we still contact and sharing each other. Sometimes when they went back hometown, we met together and they were the best moments of friendships.
I agree with someone that said “Friends can find easily, but best friend who we can understand each other, respect, sharing, and available in every good or bad situation is the most difficult to find” and now I really get it and understand that maybe the first kind of friendship is not worth enough to being called best friends than the last one.
A Pleasant Thursday!
Right now all the fans and air conditioners are on as this is when you keep it cool as today it’s going to be one very hot day to say the least. It usually peaks around 3pm as the daylight hours have taken on a change.  I suppose we are getting an Indian summer here in the West.
Just before noon I have some medical things to do. A Pre op prep – which tells me that next week I shall be having this bone marrow thing, which I embrace in getting done. You know what? I hate these medical gowns they give you. If you don’t tie it properly then your behind is showing. You have to laugh, and then comes these skimpy plastic like things they call footwear.
I look forward to this today as it indicates that things are on the move and this is good.
Meanwhile this is going to be one very hot day it could very well be the hottest day of this entire year.
We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road, they get run over - but the turtle did win the race. :)
One of four of the largest Ammunition's Stockpiles...
Even this Major,  which I met with back two weeks ago in one of four of the largest ammunition's stockpiles feels that the war is a taxing time and that he has seen too many army troop die within Afghanistan.
A great guy and at the same time little does everyone know on how Canadian troops have paid the price. But I shall write on the better sides of things. Just know that each day people pass on for peace.
I thank you all for those that were willing to partake. But hey we have our democracies ONLY due to the people that serve and put their lives in harms way.
What Can Be…
Please do take the time to read this…we thrive on images, but I would hope that some still do read. It’s about democracy and the foundation of how we arrived to where we are.
In no manner would or do I wish to write something that would blemish some very good friends on here within United States. As I have lived on both sides of the coin if you will.
I moved away from politics a long time ago, and I do think before I write.
When Bush came into power there was no way that I was going to return into United States as he had tricked so many people – the government that is and I do have a few good offline friends that reside there that I do keep in contact with.
The history of these two lands goes way back in time. It does…
But the fact of the matter is that by way of protectionism United States will falter and my hopes are that the new majority within the US can see beyond things. Bush and his administration never did and to be honest with you United States does not need to adopt what Canada is, but the GOP definitely needs to get a grip with what the priorities are. I don’t think that only a president can do this, I think it takes the people in understanding other countries and then putting things into place.
Canada is and has been affected but at the same time Canada has several options on a military front as well as several other avenues. If American government again implodes, economically I truly have my concerns, as this may very well be the last time in which this agreement between two great nations is exasperated as it was during the Bush era.
This is not a write with regards to health care, it’s a write that for some reason so many within America have no clue as to what the government is doing. If protectionism and isolation come to be within only one country, you may just find that within the next two years things go have a further decline.
Within America history again with a new government as well as with a very new President may have a transition that goes further down rather than upwards. The micro and macroeconomics of all of this may not be one that is of concern to you but I can certainly say that this is a very important relationship in more ways than one between these two nations.
I have never seen so much propaganda happening in my life and this to me has never been the American way. Proud is one thing, but the ability to understand what can be is something that should especially at this time be taken into concern.
This is not a write in any form against the USA, I love it and I hope I really do hope that history again does not repeat itself. What shall unfold if not so? I think the test of time shall render that.
Is the United States too proud to look beyond it’s own country? Ironically most industrialized countries have looked beyond and gained in understanding other countries and what makes them tick. Perhaps this is the time for “we the people” to think beyond so that a country as such can maintain it’s stature in a globalized economy. It’s just a thought.
I am able to say this as I have lived and understood both countries very well and literally love these two both. What took place over the last eight years should not be utilized as an escape goat. As other nations have as well. When the continuation of a GOP stands so rigid, it does not build, it really does the opposite. And as much as many don’t wish to here this it’s actually something worth considering.
Proud is great, a government that can see beyond and work in concert with allies is paramount. Seemingly the Congress has a very tight hold on every measure since health care was introduced – however there are many other things to consider. This write is with regards to protectionism, the mission overseas, and most of all the economy.
What has changed? Better yet what can change? The avenue is an open door that we so often either doesn’t want to look at or anger is the result. This is truly about the rights and freedoms that we all once did know back some years ago. We can’t go back, but we can go forward. I don’t see this as being anything but my own thoughts from both sides of the border. I am more than receptive to YOUR thoughts as I am not a group, but I do feel that the people (yes the people) connected to me do have thoughts that are worthy.
Perhaps this may be a breach I feel that one can truly speak about anything in good taste as we are literally rebuilding our world as we speak…
My promise to you...is that each person has that very right regardless of what nation they come from. But one great super power is in the midst of a transition, my hopes are that something comes out of this and most of all in my own opinion we all have unity on a variety of levels between out GOP's in our countries.
I would appreciate but not force thoughts, but to me within this "ballgame" each blogging friend does count...I do mean that...
Sincerely,
Jack
Prime Minister Harper Meets with President Obama
The economy, the Buy American clause, the situation in Afghanistan, the environment and energy security could all be on the agenda Wednesday as Prime Minister Stephen Harper visits U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington.
The visit marks Harper's first trip to the White House since Obama assumed office. Harper will also meet with the leadership of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on Wednesday.
While Harper's meeting with Obama is reported to be anywhere from 42 minutes to an hour in duration, Washington-based consultant and former Canadian ambassador Paul Frazer said every meeting between heads of government is of value, even if they are not lengthy.
The Buy American policy gives priority to U.S. iron, steel and other manufactured goods for use in state-level and municipal public works and building projects funded with taxpayer stimulus money. Canadian governments and businesses have railed against the policy.
Ironically coinciding with Harper's visit to the U.S. capital, some environmental groups staged protests Tuesday in Fort McMurray, Alta., and in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
In Alberta, about a dozen Greenpeace protesters forced a partial closure of Shell's Albian Sands site at Fort McMurray. They surrounded a huge dump truck with their own trucks and chained them together, and then some protesters climbed up on the dump truck and chained themselves to it. The ongoing protest is against what the environmental group sees as Canada's so-called "dirty oil" being exported to the U.S.
In Niagara Falls, activists hung a 21-metre banner showing arrows that point forward to a "clean energy future" and backward to "tarsands oil." After a few hours, protesters let go of the banner and were arrested.
Susan Casey-Lefkowitz of the U.S.-based Natural Resources Defence Council, a coalition of North American environmental groups, said that with Harper's visit to the U.S. the groups want to send a message to Canada "that it's important for both of our countries to be developing a cap on greenhouse gas emissions that cover all of the major emitting sectors," including the oilsands.
In some manner these two countries can make a difference. No country can do it entirely on there own...
Prime Minister Harper is in Washington today meeting with President Obama, my hopes are that these two countries can work things out...
My Health
I have found that many do feel that I am down. I balance this out but today's date I will say this much. I have had family members that have been sick - I don't focus on it as now for myself. I have a new situation with regards to my health.
I am having a test for bone cancer and it's merely a test. I am not depressed, actually to the contrary. I am on another on call situation here. I in no way shape or form am down. There are and have been times since I have had medical ordeals with all my family, it did hit me but those are long over due.
I keep my chin up within all of this and sometimes rumours fly high. But I have just arrived home and am expecting a friend, so there it is. Depression - no. I am just working through all of this and I have never felt down but I do truly thank you for those that have wrote. I am never online during the daytime - and I will be on later.
If you think the world has done you wrong then it has. Certainly there have been times that have been taxing as in the evening I do leg pain. So it shall all work it self out and good things come only to those that have the attitude to keep things on the up and up.
One can't be on here sometimes and I have been through some serious things with my family but now my focus is on me. Not in the sense of pity but as I say going with the flow. So that resolves the issue that came about last night.
I by no means am perfect, but I think on the up and up sometimes that might be confused by the way of wording. However I look at the positive sides of things and not going back in time but rather going forward. As I shall. And I will...
It's all within a state of mind as well faith...those that sort of know me know where I stand, but I just arrived home and I have company shortly but I wanted to place in this write. Nothing changes with my routine nor shall it...we all have our own prerogatives as well as things within life.
There are some very good friends on here and I thought this now needed to be addressed...
From the East Side Over Looking the West
On a self day I was able to go to a condo that I used to live in. This is many years ago and it's been renovated but I got back to the top of the building to take a few vantages of what I had taken back before blogging.
The weather it pleasant for the next week. It's Autumn but it's seemingly a very nice time of the year.
A Good Tuesday Morning to All
A very good morning to each and everyone. The temperature here is 9c and I have not even had time to read the real newspaper yet but thought I would get on here and say a friendly good morning at the start of the day....
The People You Meet
It seems like a repeating record. But if so so be it...
It still amazes me with the people that one does meet while embarking on an interest. Some people may be more prone to doing things in the morning and some are more so at night.
During this labor day weekend I thought I would go and get in the morning with some pictures. Yeah we all do it and within it you go out and then you just are taking things while at the same time capturing the essence of what you like by way of they mind's eye.
Ironically today I ran into a married couple she was a retired nurse, and he was a retired radiologist. As I was on the grounds this area of the park in the morning I could not resist in approaching them and introducing myself as here they were doing some various creative pictures together.
How one things does lead into another as I he showed me his camera and apparently he has been doing photography on the side for the past twenty years. We certainly had a great discussion on that. There after what brought me initially over to them was the camera and apparently they were looking at angles and ways to be creative as their daughter is getting married tomorrow.
I showed him a few of my shots and then he asked about angles and she was into it as well. We both exchanged emails and thereafter we both went on our way. So often I have run into some very good people and for myself during this weekend as simple as it is - it's really something in whom you meet and how you meet them. All in all we both gained something in our conversation and it really is interesting the people that you do meet while your enjoy a hobby as well as the weather.
For me that is where the flow really comes about is within the creativity. I certainly am not perfect in comparison to so many pictures I take but I literally do enjoy it, the photography as well as they variety of people you do come to meet.
I have nearly covered most of this city yet there is always something interesting that seemingly there is always that portion of time which one can find the value within their interests. I never in my life thought that I would enjoy a hobby so much, if I went back twenty years ago, I certain was not doing this but these days I don't know all that many that don't embark on a hobby as such as within the morning you will see all the cameras out.
Seems there are the morning to afternoon joggers and then then there are the those hiking about with from small to large cameras.
Shining Within September Part One
Now one takes pictures and then goes through what they have taken.
Within this morning this was the pictures I wished to show. Ironically I ran into an gent with his wife taking pictures I know it's in here and here again we exchanged pictures in a creative manner.
Aside of that I am out the door so soon in the morning and what I do wish and want is the green.
Right now there some impeccable places that are all under a daily construction. But within September it certainly is much different to the August that we had.
Chatting and Writing...
Since multiply placed on this chat gizmo, I have found that it's been nice just to say hi in a manner.
I was chatting with a good friend on here and literally I could never write and chat at the same time. I have always done it that way.
Ironically I have always been writing to people that I only get to know by way of the writes. Most would not believe me, but it's the truth. So I will go back and forth like a kid as it's rather neat (I do say that quiet often) - and some do chat and some don't.
The one thing that I have maintained when I started blogging was to just write, as it's very difficult to chat at the same time. But it's certainly nice to balance it all out.
Often I will address people by name as I feel that is all within respect - I guess it's just my own way of doing it. I always try to keep it all in balance and I thought I would just mention that as I do enjoy writing and at the same time when there is a contact of some sort a person comes to know another dynamic of you.
And I know it's my blog as well it's nice in having gotten to know some people truly it is. I think that is all within the shares. We all live in different areas and that truly is what makes this so enjoyable.
Perhaps the chat now and then gives that doorway to knowing people a little better. I am not sure but the experience is grand.
This does not replace real human life yet at the same time it does warrant something rather enjoyable.
A great weekend to all...
The River
Well it was a fine day and early in the morning I was out and just taking things in. There have been so many pictures that I have taken that I really don't thrive on them but today I wanted to capture a very find day.
So aside from other things I headed down to the river. While down there I had asked so many of how to get to the other side as there are some tremendous areas where there is sand dunes and all - but no one seemed to really know how to get to the other side. So that is fine with me.
The weather is nice not too hot nor too cool, actually for this time of the year it is probably near where it usually is. But the morning experiences of the outdoors is something that is tremendous. This river that you see here is the second largest river in Canada.
Thereafter it was cut the grass and get some of those chores done.  For myself I won't be going anywhere but I will be just enjoying a "staycation" as mentioned. All going well, perhaps there will be an extended summer that lasts two months more - wishful thinking I suppose, but why not.
Spring Within September Video.avi
As it's the last long weekend of this summer, I thought I would get a glimpse of an early morning near the river for it's one that just flows and you can actually hear it, it's nothing grand but yet very fine.
