Although this is not near an Air Force Base - each and every year there has always been an Air Show.
Due to the weather it's been cancelled but I headed out and was able to get a few photographs. But it's been very different weather in comparison to just last weekend.
haha! we have both written a blog about this saturday, and the thing we had in common...was the rain! seems we have the same kind of weather!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly been an odd couple of years, maybe a little longer, for our weather here as well. I must be getting old, I tell my daughter that we used to have months of scorching heat and no rain during the summers when I was a lad. I believe we've managed one week, and that was the first for a long, long time, of summer like weather this year. My daughter says I'm going soft in the head!
ReplyDeleteNice photos, Jack. Always love your take on the subject--- interesting angles and vantages.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the rainout!
I love this one. A reminder of growing up in the very hot and humid summers of Houston, TX. The sudden thunder storm that blew in and flooded the gutters where we lived were so refreshing. I want to lie down right here and feel the warm concrete against my skin beneath the cool rain water.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful oak lined avenue. Pretty
ReplyDeleteToo bad the show was canceled. Seems you were equipped for it.
ReplyDeletegreat shot mate!!!! You always foind theeveryday and bring it to our attention - love this!
ReplyDeleteand this!!!!!!!!! looks like here too
ReplyDeletegotta do what ya gotta do - come rain or shine!
ReplyDeletenice shot!
ReplyDeleteOh by the time I was there I wish I would have dressed more for it but it really came to be rather cold, but regardless it was enjoyable. I shall take a look.
ReplyDeleteI just look at it all within stride and there is nothing one can do about the weather but just glide along with it if you will...
ReplyDeleteAlthough I had not went with the appropriate clothing as one does not really consider to be dressed up accordingly especially
when it was just so much milder a few days ago - yeah in younger times I think I would have considered it but in getting the
captures - it was enjoyable and now here it's just one of those indoor weekends, as many are doing or are out to the malls.
It happens ....Sue.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got there Charles I knew that I wasn't but although it was all cancelled, I got what I wished and it was most of all fun.
ReplyDeleteKeith yeah you one does without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteI had arranged to be out there this morning at 7am and there would have been many more aircrafts, but it was just a few I ran around with in taking pictures the main things was I didn't wish to ruin my camera so I just took as many as were possible as it was heavy rain that was taking place. But here again it was one of those days that I wished to get out to as I planned on it come rain or shine. Thanks Keith.
ReplyDeleteI recall them in as well but not with the temperatures so low. However Charles it was merely only 55 in F. I recall those days as well, but with a higher temperature yet the picture is what it is :).
ReplyDeleteI am sure that within a day or so the temperatures shall change for the better...as this is very atypical for this time of the year.
Thank you Keith this is much like your winters there at this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteVery cool pics! We have our air and water show here this weekend and I hope to get to it tomorrow!
