It's been rather cool and cloudy over the last two days, last night it even went down to 8 degrees Celsius which is 32 degree Fahrenheit - now that is cool! Too cool if you ask me. It's morning here and the newspaper has not come in yet but aside of that the weekend looks to be just fine.
Les Paul passed away yesterday there goes an icon but he certainly lived a very good life till the age of 92. And within the news there seems to be much turmoil right now with regulating the medical system within the US. It's funny how Canadians are used to what we have here and seeing on CNN - these town hall meetings where there is so much anger. I guess it's more than just that it's where Obama may being doing too much to quick. Maybe the pharmaceutical companies should be looked at more as they may be the answer within reform.
Outside of all this it's Friday and here at 5am, I am looking forward to a friend that is coming to visit from out of town this next Wednesday.
It shall be a hoot in catching up as it's been some time since we have seen one another. And then next week.
I have not recieved this call with regards to my legs so hopefully this will come about next week. So as most of you know it's something I have been waiting for and I have never indicated nor am I that Canada's system of medical is better. I think a system where one has a two tier one is the best as most countries have that now and within Canada here within this province unfortunately we have only a one tier as right next door within the next province is a two tier system where you have the choice to have private or public health care.
Bidding you a great Friday. Look at how fast time is passing by! It's already the middle of August.
Peace all...
I would happily take SOME of your "cool" down here. We're still in the 90s (F) and will be for a couple more months. Not so bad if it wasn't so humid - but it is hurricane season and humid is the norm. Hope you hear about your legs soon. I won't comment on the health care debacle because it just makes me angry. Have a great weekend and enjoy your company next week!
ReplyDeleteit is a nice day today but the nights do grow cooler in august, i shall be on holiday from Sept 5th for 2 weeks in France , i shall try and take pics and send them to you , still not been able to find my pics of the uk yet, mabe they are in my external harddrive , have a great weekend my friend Rosie
ReplyDeleteOh it has changed and I am looking outside and here again is a wet clammy day but hopefully it shall change. Just a few days we where up there in the 80s and 90s. I don't wish to have this as a political post - I feel that the President might just be doing too much all too fast. What is good within the states is something that he had promised that he would work with the people. So hopefully he is listening and I am not sure all that is within his plan - but he really has been forging ahead but I think that maybe the economy is something now that he could be looking at as when he arrived into office I thought that whomever did it would take a two terms to arrive at a place where things are settled. But he is moving rather fast.
ReplyDeleteTerri, I thought by know I would have got the call and that does tell you one about a system where it's a one tier and I do have often thought that Canada's system does need reform as well. In a few provinces they have but not here yet.
I am looking forward to this weather changing. In 3 months here we shall have a word that starts with "S". Shhhh :)
Rose they do here as well but this last year we had the the coldest winter in history, as well as the strangest summer. Paris now there is a fine place to visit, thanks and looking forward to it. A great weekend to you as well!
ReplyDeleteReform doesn't work well with the AMA and pharmaceutical companies because they have so many of our representatives in their back pocket. It's been pretty much the same with insurance companies. You know the old saying... "We have the best politicians money can buy."
ReplyDeleteYes, and between them and the crowds that groups like FreedomWorks, an anti-reform outfit headed by ex-Congressman Dick Armey (apt name I think), have got stirred up, it's wild times down here for any congressperson who bucks the Health Lobby.
ReplyDeleteYes, the name does seem appropriate, doesn't it? It can be wild times for anyone who bucks the popular stance in an attempt to make a change, especially an honest one. If no citizen stands up, states the truth, and supports the appropriate change, though, no change for the better is likely to be made. It's sad, but that seems to be how things go.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your friend Jack! Your legs are going to be ok.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo shot!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrr, way too cold!
Have a fantastic visit with your friend!
I'm avoiding the healthcare debates right now; I've had enough but do think the pharmaceutical companies have enough power already.
Wishing you the best!
Yikes, that's chilly air! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteNioce pic... ;)

Anne, yeah I now they are as I just got in and awaiting approval with something with the security and the Air Force here. :)
ReplyDeleteAs time went on it reach up there and now here comes the rain - but I am looking forward to what may happen over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI understand with regards to health care - it's something that is a rage within America right now but lets leave it at that shall we :).
We are here to enjoy and respect - that is how I see it. I hope you and many do as well.
The intention of my post was not with anything more that from what I have heard from over here. But the one thing is that
Canada has it's own way and I think that America should have it's own as well.
Ditto back to you!
I hope if there is allowance that I can post a few things prior to an Air Show here Danni, but I am not sure that will happen but we shall see.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yours as well!
Thanks...
ReplyDeleteAhhh... Lovely picture :-)... I don't mind the sunshine, it's that miserable 90-100* and over heat :-(... A nice cool morning, and some rain to wash out the air and give us some water would be nice ;-). " I do have often thought that Canada's system does need reform as well. " ... Hahaha... None of us are content, at least completely, with what we have... But you're right... "Canada has it's own way and I think that America should have it's own as well." .. And so, I too will leave it at that... For now :-D. Have a peace filled evening Jack... Shanti
ReplyDeleteCool. Cloudy, and Wet usually describe what I consider to be the best of weather. Too bad it is a little too cool. Clouds, Wind and Rain,- now that's a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do love the pouring rain don't get me wrong however I am not a big fan of the harsh cooler temperatures at this time of the year however still there is something nice about it within a contrast to the great weather that we had for two weeks and more than likely there is more to come.
ReplyDeleteSame to you Peeks, I love the slogan of "the sun does shine" as here we usually get an average of 300 days of sunshine at average per year.
ReplyDeleteAs for the other stuff I tend to agree with you.
It was and I too have read but not got into this large debate on healthcare. It's interesting but for now I just like to enjoy what comes to be and I am looking forward to a friend that will be visiting within a short period of time. The best to you as well Arielle.
ReplyDeleteif i were there i must get freeze since in Indonesia only have 2 seasons..tropical country.. :) have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteOh I know the tropics and I and it would be large transition but I have met people from several countries that after two years they have come to adjust into it.
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing in comparison to what will be here during the winter - but for now I am glad to see that after today things are going to warm up over this next week.
Here we really do look forward to the three seasons of spring, summer and autumn.
A great day to you as well...
I guess you knew that it's sooooo hot over here these days!!! Hot and humid!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and regards.......
