Ironically I forget his name, I wanted to get his pictures as it was so old styled, and the amout of old gents that got to him not just to get there hair cut but to talk it all up. Yes it's all old, and very different yet something that seemingly still within out times does have merit.
I guess this is what we call "old school", yet he was not dumb from all the people that have come in and left his barber shop he seemed smart in an older way.
That's a great picture, Jack!
ReplyDeleteMore often than not the old school way is still the best way!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri...
ReplyDeleteIn some many was I think that these older people have much more as they lived in a different, manner.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't look old to me. Maybe I am!
ReplyDeleteNo he is well into his 70s and I think regardless of age it was interesting to talk to him but I never really regard age as a factor as we grow ahead.
ReplyDeleteAnd he certain has seen many of them :)
Yes, they a fewer and farther between than when I was a boy. I see their shops but never pull in. I fear the worst in a haircut there, as in All or Nothing
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, glad to know there are still dinosaurs out there like him.
ReplyDeletehahah, I could not agree more mind you as time goes on I am thinning at I am not "64". However as a kid I recall these old barbershops and they seem to be on the recline.
ReplyDeleteYes, aside from the photo I was able to talk to him for a while, he had his ways certainly but at that age...it's obvious.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that he still has his barber shop here although I prefer to get my "small hair" done at another place. :)
A great sunday to you Cath....
Nice shots... too bad we are losing most of the "old ways". Your photos will help preserve them!
ReplyDeleteAhh yes, the good old days. Wisdom, humor and a hair cut.
ReplyDeleteI love old time barber shops..don't see many these days anymore
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri, we only got to where we are by those old ways and perhaps although the picture
ReplyDeletewas one that I captured that seemed like a "Norman Rockwell" in many ways and the I myself
think we only go to where we are from generation to generation.
Yes I think many can recall these old days Jimi....:)
ReplyDeleteNot too much these days but there used to be a symbol Danni right outside of there door
ReplyDeleteI cant recall what it stood for but they are few and far between...
I like the pics. Did he cut your hair and shaved your face?
ReplyDeleteI am reading posts, but that all said and Anna, I have never had my hair cut by him, or the hair I still do have but it was interesting.
ReplyDeleteI always go to this one person's place which I did post at one time it's here >

Very nice, he should be appreciated for sure...
ReplyDeleteThanks Mia yes indeed...
ReplyDeleteThe second photo is great. It is a child's-eye view of their first haircut. Scary.
ReplyDeleteSmiling I never even thought of it that way....gosh as a kid I hated getting my hair cut! Now they are much cheaper of course! Scary :)
