Why is there such anger with regards to reformation of the healthcare system in the States? It seems to me there has this is something that is of tremendous concern and I would honestly like to know what your thought of it are - there are systems all over the world from what I have seen I believe the best system in the world is within France yet there really is no perfect system anywhere, but I think that each country has brought about a system at different periods of time to service there own.
I feel that the idea of reform is always good regardless of the country.
People are afraid of change and they only know what horror stories they have been told. My son is a Doctor and he has worked with both systems here and in the UK. He finds flaws with both systems but is also affected by the slow movement of Government controlled health services. There should be a middle ground in this mess somewhere.
ReplyDeleteJimi thanks as I thought this would be a very risk question to ask. I feel that it's a good thing and finding that good middle ground is what is taking place. So may seem to be jumping to conclusion over it. I would think this is an opportunity more so than anything else.
ReplyDeleteMY OPINION IS THAT IT'S A HUMANITARIAN ISSUE
ReplyDeleteTHAT EVERY PERSON SHOULD HAVE HEALTH CARE
NOT ONLY IN USA BUT ALL OVER THE WORLD
THAT IT SHOULD BE A HUMAN CONCERN
USA ARE THE LEADERS OF THE WORLD THEY SHOULD ACT LIKE ONE
BUT SO FAR ITS NOT ABOUT PEOPLE BUT ABOUT POLITICS
MAKE THE OTHER PARTY LOSS SO THEY COULD WIN
SO SAD
Not all countries in the world do but you would think that would be one of the foundations of any given country within this world.
ReplyDeleteWhat I find is that many countries are starting to look at there systems - which is a good thing to improve them but still
I do believe there must be a way that there is coverage for all in some manner.
There are several countries that carry a tier system.
YEAH EVERY COUNTRY IS OPENING THEIR EYES
ReplyDeleteAND EVERY COUNTRY (I KNOW MANY COUNTRY ALREADY HAVE)
BUT IT SHOULD BE THE RIGHT OF EVERY CITIZEN AND THE DUTY OF EVERY GOVERNMENT
TO SEE THAT ALL CITIZEN HAVE HEALTHCARE.
IF THE SYSTEM IN A COUNTRY WORK FOR THEN SO LET IT BE AS LONG AS ALL CITIZEN HAVE HEALTHCARE
People feel like they may be forced to change from a physician they are acquainted with and trust to someone they are not sure of under certain circumstances . I'm unsure about all of it I do know that the system as far as hospitalization needs reform in regards to some of the extravagant charges like what a Tylenol or a shot of insulin costs , things that cost almost nothing being inflated beyond reason. It seems that there is a push to get everything moved through really fast also which makes people nervous. They want to be able to learn more about what to expect .
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of negative but I am really trying to learn both sides
what I said is that we need a reform
ReplyDeletebut the pulling here and the pulling there its very confusing
i think public opinion matter but just because some people that are getting benefits from do not want to
we may stay with out reform so what is better? to have health care with out the public opinion or to have nothing at all
if we get healthcare I think we will be taking a bid step, we need to learn to walk one step at the time
next time then we ask for public opinion but now it is imperiled it is a must that we have healthcare
I seen sick people crying because they do not have the treatment they need
I think it is a "class" issue. The upper classes and priviledged don't believe every human deserves universal health care. We should be beyond that by now.
ReplyDeleteIt really has nothing to do with politics it is all about money. The Insurence business is a multi-billion dollar affair and it is stronger than even our government.
ReplyDeleteIt stirs up basic issues like do we love our fellowman even if he is lazy? Many costs are highly inflated--can those gaining by this renounce these gains? Why are we so sick in the first place? What will be gained and what will be lost as in level of care and freedom?
ReplyDeleteChange is needed, but who will change and in what direction?
THAT is the real question, isn't it??
ReplyDeleteWe are what we eat .... if we put junk into our system, it is junk we get out !!
There IS the profit motive. The US is a Capitalist country. And they do tell us we have the best health care in the world in spite of that being not quite true. Then there are the people who believe anything they're told just so long as their prejudices are confirmed.
ReplyDeleteBad on both sides of the discussion? Yes. But we'll never reach that middle ground so long as the lies and propaganda continue.
Seems to me that a lot of the anger comes from all the propoganda out there informing others how they'll lose control over their healthcare and choices, their rights, quality of life, etc. We do need reform but I think it will be a long progress in work and one that will never make everyone happy.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's propaganda if someone pulls a requirement right out of the law that the Congress almost passed without any of the lawmakers taking the time to read it before voting. Is that not insanity?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was going to say, Red :-) I wish there was a better answer but I think this is now the crux of the matter. Too much money, too many campaign contributions, too many Americans too easily scared off any reform--never mind single-payer systems--by the massive tide of propaganda against reform.
ReplyDeleteWow I have not been on here lately! I have to get my glasses!
ReplyDeleteThe reality comes down to money I do believe...hasn't it always within any type of reform.
ReplyDeleteThat has always been the argument within Canada yet within it all for some reason a class structure is there yet within a tie ring medical system it isn't.
ReplyDeleteDJ it all depend I guess where you reside...
ReplyDeleteIt's a such a touchy subject to say the least...
Hi Jim you are so right...
ReplyDeleteRegardless of that Annette people do get sick for several reasons not just this.
ReplyDeleteChange and reform in progress it think brings about many of these elements but as long as it's productive there is reason for it.
ReplyDeleteI think many have been misinformed and slowly they will come understanding what it all is about - I hope.
I don't even know all the intricates of the new reform bill what I do know is that many have looked at Canada and England's system.
Jeff I think that now all have taken this much more serious and I would project that some bill will pass but what will it be? I am not sure but what can it be is really the essence of this post.
ReplyDeleteI think that everyone as you refer to it it going through it with a fine tooth and comb now.
A touchy subject as I have not been on for a two day's date but thanks to all for lending your own thoughts.
