Today, we honour generations of brave Canadian men and women in uniform who have fought to defend our country and to promote and protect the values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Canadians have always stood ready to defend their country and in the last century nearly two million have served in two World Wars, Korea, Afghanistan, Libya and various other conflict zones. Sadly, we also remember those who, in doing so, have paid the ultimate price with their lives.
I had attended within the ceremonies here which are the largest within an enclosed area within all of Canada. After the ceremony I was invited to join with a regime within an officers mess. There we so many stories of those of which I had the opportunity to sit down with and just talk. For some it is a traditional service of which is to pay tribute. The crowd surpassed 86,000 thousand people and we don’t for get and I believe myself believe there is something to be said for those of whom have done service. As mentioned by the Prime Minister of Canada in Ottawa he mentioned about the values, which make up this country. Be it home or abroad. As within the Canadian Armed Forces the mandate has always been through peaceful missions as well within the past combat had come to be a necessity.
The unparalleled spirit, skills and devotion of the members of the Canadian Armed Forces have always been exemplary. Yet there are no words to express the gratitude to those men and women, which have placed their interests aside for the very right of freedom and security.
Hence, as the saying of years ago still prevail within a term which does give meaning to the respect of those in service and those which had been in services.
“Lest We Forget”…
love this photo x tyu
ReplyDeleteFor those brave souls who fought and still are fighting. My respect and admiration. Great
ReplyDeleteIn those poppies i found new meaning. Kinda' sentimental and of great value.
ReplyDeleteA great tribute Jack.... :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a full day and a great one. I never have done this much on one area but I think that freedom is
ReplyDeletesomething of which we do tend to forget what does bring about a free nation. And for the most part we are
free...free only due to those of which have retained freedom - which is a decent thing.
....freedom. :)
ReplyDeletebreathtaking...as if we could know the full scope of respect we should have for veterans...
ReplyDeleteRegardless of where one is there is truly something to be said to those which have granted us our freedoms.
ReplyDeleteIf not where would we be?
Great photos to display the Remembrance -- a great crowd of people, too, showing they will not forget the service of their countrymen. Thanks for going, and for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have never went through so many pictures after a ceremonie as such and it was tremendous I had missed a few as one can only sit behind a computer for so long but this is a video as well.
