Either it was my desktop last night but after the link from Ian whom it's not his fault - as he is a decent gent. I was thrown off and placed onto a scan which there after found what is called a tracking cookie. I am not sure what you use for a security program but that's the first time my advanced F- Secure (not by Shaw as you might be on as well as a server) but I have the full program which worked very well at taking care of the cookie and deleted it out.
Tracking cookies may be used to track internet users' web browsing habits. This can be done for example as follows, if the user requests a page of the site, but the request contains no cookie, the server presumes that this is the first page visited by the user, the server creates a random string and sends it as a cookie back to the browser together with the requested page. The cookie will be automatically sent by the browser to the server every time a new page from the site is requested, the server sends the page as usual, but also stores the URL of the requested page, the date/time of the request, and the cookie in a log file.
good thing you noticed it early. Now ... am I being followed for I'd been perpetually following sites being posted by friends. If why. Am just a nobody. :)
Ironically I never thought they were till this program F-secure nailed writh were it's from Doug. The utube which I placed after seeing on Ian's blog was fine. I love Utubes myself.

ReplyDeleteAs I go into You Tube quite a bit, it does seem to me that they are one of the worst offenders.
