So often people will think on a goal, but they only will think on it and not act upon it... where as some have and there are some that have not within life..I forget whom the quote came from but it is what it says :)
that sort of goes along with a motivational video i saw yesterday where within it, it said "those who have not failed have not lived." we will surprise ourselves as we continue to apply ourselves. Failure will happen, but without attempting we will have no success.
Kim, Voltaire wrote on life and his perceptions on life. I am not sure he lived life but he seemingly like Whitman observed life and wrote on it. The chances we take especially within life are ones that only we our very own selves truly know what we have done. Most of the times one will lay in bed (most of the times) and think of all that has taken place within a day. It's usually just five minutes for most and then we render a conclusion, or surmise it at the best and leave it to rest. The simplistic idea so often has been a failure at least a few times but success is from what I have seen in life is achieving and rendering the best as we learn from what may seem to be a failure, however when we look at it as a learning partition, then that is where the horizontal and the vertical collide....yeah :).
Now this is an excusion dearest Tina.....as Bob Barker used to say when we where kids on the show called, "The Price is Right" come on down :). To the one that is great. Literally is and has a great manner coupled with good smarts and great wit! :)
so true jack, it's all about the journey. For me personally it's in my prayers that i go over my day and give thanks and ask for guidance and direction in what comes next for myself and my family. Writing in my journal also gives me clarity and focus on what i would like to be accomplishing and what i have done so far.
Sometimes though it is good to experiment with new things. It's a way of learning and no good learning experience is wasted. We find out where our joy and strength is that way. It can be a hobby or a job. I've decided to place a time line on my first job after being a homemaker through out the kids growing up years that I will at least stick with the job until I have learned it well enough to know if it's for me or not. I've had my rough days already wondering what have I done but the sense of committing myself to learning it well then deciding whether to stick with it after I have gained the experience keeps me going. I look at it as a stepping stone really. I'm trying to build up a good history of being faithful in my work habits. I've already learned things like I am too sensitive and I need to let some things roll off like water off a ducks back & not carry the stresses home with me..That I need to work on yet
I do (eventually) complete what I start. The problem is, though, I have a tendency to procrastinate. Unless............it's something that I love or am excited about! :) But, as the saying goes, "awareness is half the battle!" *smile*
good one. I saw another this morning that hit a chord with me: "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it again?" (Ladi Stepps) I'm always rushing to meet deadlines, and that's when I make mistakes....
What does that mean ...

ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of "if you're going to do it, do it right."
ReplyDeleteok :)
ReplyDeleteI ponder on whom knew what was correct or incorrect :) Good morning from here DJ.
ReplyDelete"Right" in this case meant to do a good job. I guess there is some leeway where only you can decide where you are between a slacker and obsessed.
ReplyDeleteBelieve an act on your dreams. Only then can you recognize the possibilities xxx
ReplyDeleteThere are times you begin something to find out you ar eover your head and need help. There is no shame in asking for others to help

ReplyDeletegood quote, hon ~ if you feel strongly within your heart and soul, then definitely follow through with whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteThere is not such a thing as truly right or wrong DJ...when you find the slack and the obsessed pass it over your shoulder.
ReplyDeleteVery true Sharon, I do mean that...so often people are too proud.

ReplyDeleteToday was actually the hardest day I've had at work so far . I'm reading , thinking as positive as I can
ReplyDeleteI so agree.

ReplyDeleteThe journey is worth every step of the follow-through, even baby steps, as long as there is forward motion. Thanks for this gentle nudge! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather follow through...I get bored otherwise...plus following thru IMO is healthier ....builds self esteem & confidence.
