Yes it's a quote Lucija and there are ideas that are just out there and are of worth. Sometimes not all has to be debated as it might just be inspirational.
I believe this to be very true, Jack. I personally believe that our experience of life is created directly by the way in which we think. Creation is made first by a thought. We have the power to change our life and our experiences starting with our THOUGHTS! :)
Discussed, Jack, not debated. I agree that there are many inspirational quotes that help to give people insight, & it's very nice to share them. This one simply couldn't be true under many, many circumstances. That's why I said it begs for 'discussion.' We could gain insights from discussions, too! I've heard that it isn't the action, but the reaction that creates negativity. This is true of unkind words, or accusations. Not true if someone stabs you with a knife...yet even here there's one exception. If one weeps & writhes, this can exacerbate the pain, as well as increase the flow of blood. "The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind." I believe in a positive 'attitude,' stoicism, things happen that we can flow through & beyond. For people who live in the street, who can't feed their children, (for example), does their state of life reflect their state of mind, or does their state of life reflect their state of mind?
Definitely truth in that .... we are what we think .... No matter ones situation ... there is always a positive ... and its grasping onto that that gives one the ability to smile.
That is very true. And in that truth lies the happiness of so many ... very seldom find happiness not because it is an elusive thing, but because they are adamant, afraid to try new things. Not realizing, tomorrow may never come, for as always ... the future is not promised, we all have only the present to lived for and to be happy about if we are willing.
I thought that I said, I believe in a positive 'attitude,' stoicism, things happen that we can flow through & beyond. I also asked, I believe, that for people who live in the street, who can't feed their children, (for example), does their state of life reflect their state of mind, or does their state of mind reflect their state of life. At least, that's what I intended; sometimes dyslexia gets a bit in the way of how I type. I know I expressed rationales & exceptions.
"...very seldom find happiness not because it is an elusive thing, but because they are adamant, afraid to try new things." I can name an infinite number of reasons why some people aren't happy. This in no way confirms the validity of the quote. I've seen there's no place here for discussion, (quite different than debate), although I had thought Jack was a thoughtful man who pondered every little insight with depth. This blog interested me, not simply to comment you're right Jack, so true Jack & so on, so I shall leave with my philosophical thoughts, & best wishes to all.
I think this statement (or quote?) begs for discussion. Personally, it's far too absolute for me.

In that case, there is not much life left because my mind has been gone for some time.
