~ Being ~

We become accustomed to what has been part of our routine and stability ignoring the fact that in time we have become stagnant, unhappy and unsatisfied. In three words, We Stop Growing. To pretend to live our life in the same manner all the time is not logical. Our daily experiences and challenges transform us into a more developed and whole individual.

Dark nights plunges us into the depths of our being pressing us into exploring what needs to be changed or revealed. For years we have gone along with the social circles and what is expected of us. We learn quickly how to integrate ourselves with the rest of society, which is good, but in the process we forget how not to lose our individuality. Individuality based on our self-knowledge along with well rooted human and spiritual principles are the key to our well being and happiness.

"Speaking of human nature also reminds us that there is a unity and solidarity belonging to the whole human race. For this reason, man is to be considered "in the full truth of his existence, of his personal being and also of his community and social being" excerpt from MAN'S DIGNITY STEMS FROM HIS SPIRITUAL NATURE.

Some people manage to make manifest their individuality sooner than others, like Albert Einstein who at 15 years old realized that he had to make his own way in the world. I believe that's the reason why he was able accomplish so much and benefit society with his own individual development; because he began to live early on, the life destined to him.

It is a shame that most of us spend half our life before we find ourselves before the path we need to decide to walk on. When life becomes unbearable because we have denied our self-realization we often find ourselves at a crossroads, in that moment our whole being screams to be born again.

It's the divine calling us to become who we were meant to be before is too late. It is the awakening from the numbness created by a life full of everyone's goals and dreams but our own. I truly believe that education should be based upon the Liberal Arts, in it our minds are developed to analyze, absorb and integrate our individual human capabilities given to us by God into whatever field our work will contribute and ultimately benefit humanity.

  1. Good blog..but I think there are some that don't ever get to this point in their whole lifetime.

  2. For me personally changes in life such as the role of a Mother with children who are now grown changes not who I am inside but the paths that I must take that lead to growth and fulfillment. It's a time of exploring new avenues and learning along the way. There are struggles in doing so but the struggles are sometimes needful howbeit not pain free so I choose to grow. All of the self help books or knowledge of scripture cannot do a thing without stepping out and doing what it takes to progress in a positive manner. Faith is an action word

  4. Nice post, everyday should be a new adventure , even if it is a small one. We should also try to learn something new every day. Being ourselves is important. We just do not fit in another's shoes, no matter how hard we try.

  5. Faith I do think is an action word. There are struggles and regardless of anything Cheryl I feel that it is a manner of tending to the struggles and they give appreciation to what is within life. Growth is something that we all do within our own way. As there may be a thread that connects us yet at the same time there is something that is more than just the words yet in being whole is something that tends to be of most fullfillment. Just my feelings.
Kudos to you Cheryl and it's always been a pleasure.

  7. Are We

    Are we the time?
    And are we the famed?
    Or are we the water?
    Humbly flowing
    But not the solid diamond
    Not one remains still
    For we are the river
    Looking out and beyond
    Seeing our own reflection
    While we carry on

    The mirror of the river
    Moves so slow yet swift
    Much like a crystal
    That vibrates its hues
    A diversity of rays
    Are we the vain?
    A predetermined river?
    An ever changing blaze
    That can never rearrange

    I think not...

    History does not pound
    Within a coin nor nickel
    For all that we have
    We are the charmed
    For we are the river
    Seemingly flowing
    Towards a new route
    One in which...

    Only we know

  8. I spent a lot of years trying to please everyone else, because in my subconscious mind, I believed that other people's happiness was more important than my own. . Until that one particular day, while sitting in my office, everyone else had gone home, and all of a sudden I began to sob uncontrollably. My marriage (at the time) was over, and I felt like my whole world was crashing down on me; I was running on empty. It was then that it hit me like a ton of bricks that it was time to stop living for everyone else, and to begin living for ME.

It took a whole lot of climbing just to get up that hill, and learn that putting oneself first, before pleasing others, is the most loving thing one could ever do for the self and for another. I have never looked back at the wasted years spent people pleasing, nor do I regret them. They taught me well. The road to self-realization was a difficult road, but one that I needed to travel in order to live the life that I fully deserved.

You can never please everyone, and if you try, you will never please yourself. God wants us to live a happy and fulfilled life, and I for one, want what He wants! :)

  9. There are some who believe that their lives are predetermined. I have found, in my own life, that I can change anything in my life, just because I believe that it is possible. See it, believe it, receive it.

  10. Truly an amazing story and I do love the quote....as regardless I am a determined one and much like you I have never waivered within my beliefs and aspirations and no you can't please all. I find I am not running on empty but then at times I do find that there have been times in which I have waivered. Yet I am not one two people or three but I have had my lot but then again whom hasnt. Regrets I don't have that many regrets as I have always lived within a manner. Yet there is one thing that is of value to me and that is family. As I sit here before I head of to bed I see a reflection. But it's time to get to bed and best wishes and Kudos to you...Maryann.

  11. And to you as well, Jack. I sense that we have both known a great deal of struggle, yet have emerged from it strong, secure, and confident. The love of family and friends is the most important thing in our lives. Treasure each and every moment that we have them.

    Goodnight, Jack. Sleep well~

  12. ~smile~ .... and thats why it is so important to be true to oneself .... listen to that inner voice and to have faith in each step we take. Our lives are our decissions and when we connect with others, its that core of our being that attracts the connection.

    Nicely written blog Jack!

  13. There is no straight line as we talk of life. For there will always be struggles, trials, pain yet dispite of those obstacles ... there comes the sweetest part - which is the triumph, the victory of having surpassed all the hindrance. The attitude of having faith in God helps us along to have that strong will to go on, and the consequences of that faith lies on the fate of believing in the positive energy that determines our destiny.

    And if i may qoute:

    "For we are the river
    Looking out and beyond
    Seeing our own reflection
    While we carry on"

Very true, Jack. As the river flows unto to the sea and goes back again to the streams and to the valley and to the river ... back to the sea.
... only to complete a cycle ... on and on ... with no interruptions, and that is life.

A wonderful blog to which everyone could relate.

  18. Yeah it does flow, and there is no perfect line nor straight line, there are trials but I think it's all within the navigation. I like what Jan wrote as after it all there is that time that one can be happy with what they have done. Very nice quote there Maritess.
